What do you know about CarMax? Why did you apply for this position?

CarMax has been in business now since 1993 growing business revenue thru great customer service and
awareness focusing on putting our customer #1 at CarMax.

In reviewing the job description for this position I believe I have what it take to own and manage such
operations for CarMax.

Have you ever applied or interviewed with us in the past? If so when and which location?

No, This will be my first time applying for a position with CarMax.

What are you doing now, and why do you want to make a change?

I’m currently not employed.

I am looking for a new career challenge in retail and in reviewing CarMax culture and values I believe that
CarMax can and will provide that career change I’m looking for in a company.

Are you open to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which might include nights,
weekends and holidays?

Yes, In my past employment as Area Supervisor I had to flexible in my scheduling to balance the business
each day base on business needed.

This position requires a valid in-state driver’s license. Do you currently have one?

Part of our hiring process is to conduct a Driving Record Check. When we do that what would your driving
record show?

Yes, I am valid in California.

You will not find any DUI’s on record.

Our interview process also includes conducting Criminal Background Checks and Pre-Employment drug
screening. Is this something you’re open to?

I am open to both Criminal and Pre-Employment Drug screening at anytime for CarMax.
Do you require immigration sponsorship to work for CarMax, either now or in the future?

No. I was born in the US

What are your salary requirements?

$70,000 - $75,000 a year

Are you open to relocation after training?

Yes. I am open to relocation after training.

I have moved at least 2 times for past employer for business need.

Do you have at least 8 years experience successfully managing a large team (30+) consisting of hourly and
salaried associates in a high volume, fast paced, complex environment? Please provide details.

Yes. I currently have about 17 yrs of management experience behind me. In my previous employment at
McDonald’s I successfully managed and supervised 6 restaurants with a yearly budget of $12.5m by
managing P&L, sales increase, inventory, and cost control. This team consists of 16 salary managers
(RM & Asst Mgr), 30 hourly managers, and 38 crew members.

How do you get results from your team?

Effectively communicate the strategy of the business and the strategy of my work team to align all team
members around a common purpose and direction that focus on improving business results and increase
revenue.
