1. Организационный момент.
T: Good morning, boys and girls. I’m very glad to see you. We are so pleased to
see our guests today and we’ll try to make our lesson useful and interesting.
T: Before we start, I want you to watch a video. Can you guess what we are going
to speak about?
T: You are right. Today we are going to speak about books, different genres of
literature, English and American writers, do some exercises.
3. Речевая зарядка.
T: Yes, you are right. It is a librarian. Now lets imagine that you want to go to the
library and here in our class there is a library. So who wants to be a librarian?
So lets go to the library and imagine that you want to take out a book.
4. Основной этап.
T: You know children there are a lot of genres of literature. Which of them do you
know? What is your favourite? Why? Now I have some cards with different types
of books. Your task is to choose one of them and describe it.
1. Science fiction books describe imaginary world, unusual characters, and their
good and bad actions.
2. Fairy tales describe imaginary heroes, who fight for the good against evil.
6. Historical books describe events in the past, famous political figures, wars, life
of people in ancient times.
T: Now, let us have a guessing game. Listen to the beginning of different kinds of
stories and try to define the genre and tell me why you think so.
5. Физкультминутка.
T: Lets have a rest. Many films are based on famous books. Of course, there is
music to these films.

T: As you know books and authors, I want you to make a biography of famous
English and American writers. Choose the envelope with information about
different writers. Your task is to choose the right information and present the
biography in front of the class.

8. Рефлексия.
T: We have discussed much about books and writers today. At the end of our
lesson, let us grow a “Book tree”. You can say what is reading for you. Now, you
can see a list of things on your desks. Choose three things that you think are the
most important for you. Then come to the blackboard and hang them on our tree.
Books can tell us a lot about interesting things.
Books make feel good.
Books help to discover new things.
Books educate us.
It is the perfect way to spend free time.
Books escape from everyday problems.
It is the perfect way to entertain myself.
Books can tell us a lot about the rest of the world.
It is the perfect way to relax.
9. Домашнее задание.
T: Your task is:
Make a project about your favourite author.
T: The topic of our conversation today was very interesting and important. We
have spoken much about books, writers, and genres.
T: I’d like to thank you for good work at the lesson. Your marks are… I wish you
be healthy and wealthy. The lesson is over. Good-bye!
