EDU 3234 Journal #1

This is another time that I had to struggle hardly to this EDU 3234. The reasons that made me felt so
were many, but the main cause was I’m posted to a small school which you know this type of school will
be flooded with works due to less numbers of teachers. Another cause was I always called to on duties
out station, this made me hard to follow the blog up to dated and lack of internet points sometimes.

Anyway, I take it as an encouragement and a chance for me to upgrade myself in the world of
internet. So I had to plan very carefully so that I can try my best to catch up with the course. Everything
should be look into positively. I know that I won’t be alone.

EDU 3234 Journal #2

As it is quite impossible for me to bring along my laptop anytime, so I try to put EDU 3234’s module
inside my bag.

A quite morning, and I was sitting inside our bus which driving to Lundu for Kejohanan Olahraga
MSSR. I took out the module and started reading…The Son of the Turtle-Spirit accompanied me until I
reach Lundu, and my first thought, what I amazing story that I must introduce it to my pupils and I’m
sure they will love it. The moral values should be emphasize throughout the story.

Online task 1, just when I came back from Bau, I receive a call from one of my course mate telling me
this. Without wasting any time, I start my work on this task. Actually not that difficult and quite
interesting as the answer all could be searched through internet. So I force myself to finish it today so
that there will be no excuses for me to waste my time.

I found myself quite poor in using internet. I asked my friend to teach me how to create I blog, and I just
realize the benefit of blogging. But I do know if misused this media, the impact will be quite serious too.

Fables? Myth? Folktales? Legends? I used to read all these but the point are its all in Mandarin. This is
the time for me to change my reading to English as I’ll be an English teacher in future (maybe). Maybe
this is the best chance or ‘reason’ for me as for me, reading English books are quite hard as there are too
many new words for me to look for its meanings. I’m quite lazy to do so during reading, I know I had to
change this bad habbit and be more hardworking for my own future and for pupils benefits.

I reread my research paper many times. I corrected grammatical errors and also change some
of my sentences so that my research paper will be easily understood by readers. I spent
hours, reading, changing words or sentences and editing my research paper. I finished my
research paper and ready to be submitted. I have learnt a lot through this project. I learnt
the process of writing a project paper in depth and indeed I have gained a lot of knowledge
about literature too. I am sure I will be able to impart the knowledge that I have gained to my
pupils later.

I find out that looking for evidence in the book is quite tiring but I believe that good research
must be supported by evidence. I also learnt how to scan for information while looking for
those evidence. I read my whole draft before I decided to stop.

I’m going back to Sibu for a great show. One of the course require us to complete a mission
impossible. We had to act on the stage and record our show on a drama presentation.
Although I’m a sporting guy but when I was chosen as the main actor of the presentation,
truly, I was scared and anxious. Past few days I was quite free but had no mood to complete
the online tasks as I work hard on the script. I don’t want to disappoint my group members
and furthermore, it is very inflexible for us to gather all together for the presentation. Now I
started feel the stressed again in PJJ courses. Anyway, I believe we can do it very well or at
least this will be fun and memorable.

I called around five or more friends to teach me how to upload my works to my own blog. What a
incredible and again, I started to blame myself for my out dated skill in using internet. Luckily, I
successfully uploaded what I wish to upload. I had to be rush as I’ll be going to Kelantan next week to
attending a course. So I’m in a very busy situation and all the negative thinking arise again within my
heart. I told myself not to think in the way like this and seek for me helps or suggestions from others. I
was motivated by a friend who had finished his PJJ degree courses.

Every outcome is good, when we take it positively.

Proverb ever mention, practice make perfect. This is the third times I used this Blogg and
with help and guidance from friends I feel I'm comfortable but not to say competent with it.
Today I would like to talk about one of the story which a little bit similar to one of the malay
film acted by Dato Jins Shamsudin entitled "Sumpahan Ular Puaka". Eventhought the conflict
arouse by characters of the play is not similar but the idea of the story is similar, where the
evil snake tried to bring the girl to thier own world and the girl was save by a hero,her own
husband and in module the old man as a hero. One thing similar between both the story and
the film is that the snakes are dangerous to human and also they reflect the element of
human nature as power and greed and vanity.
Like in Iroquois: The Girl Who Was Not Satisfied With Simple Things, fables also is also
interesting to read. The Fox and the Crow by Aesop recall me back to my primary school life
time. The Fox and the Crow are similar to the Salako fables "Curita Kakura Ngang Kara" ( The
Tortoise and The Monkey ) Both the fables reflect vain, stupid and cunning.
As a whole all the articles in part one are intereting to read and it refresh some of the
knowledge gained in previous papers related to literature done in the previous semesters.

Welcome back to EDU3234 Journal. Actually I started to enjoy the blogging time and happy
for being given chances to write my expression on the EDU3234 Reading And Project Work For
Teaching Literature In ESL Contexts. This course is very well planned by the lecturer. We
were guided to follow the steps of our lecturer in blogging and for the course or the tasks, I
understand the concept she bring us to explore the text through tasks and the idea of the
taskes. Even though everything are new to me but with the guidence provided by our lecturer
it motivate me to do the assignment given. I think I won’t end my EDU 3234 Journal and I’ll
keep myself to appear here, keep on sharing my life in teaching after the this course end.
