Welcome to the presentation

of the

Six Toungs
Drums and Bass line
View of the Sequence page
The Drums and Bass line
is a VST drum box
and bass line generator.
It is able to play his rhythms
and sequences alone,
even if it is not connected to a MIDI track.
Forget copy and paste functions!
Just play and improvise on your
rhythmical creations.
Programming
a sequence.
Program your rhythm in
the sequence page.
Choose the subdivision of the BPM and the number of
steps that you want to use.
(The Drums and Bass is synchronised to the BPM of
the host sequencer).
You can use from 1 to 32 steps,
and all subdivisions from 1/1 to 1/16
of the BPM.
It is easy to try non usual rhythms
in a classical 4/4 bar.
Start sequencer with the start knob.
Program your rhythm :
for each step of the seven percussive sounds,
switch on the buttons that you need.
Several leds indicate witch step is playing.
You can mute any sound when you need it.
These controllers are on the right
of the sequence buttons.
Program the bass line down the sequence page.
Switch on the gates controls of the steps
that you want to be played.
Tune the pitch of each step with the sliders.
Add swing effect if you
want to :

Centred, the slider

produces none effect.

Upper, it produces
swing groove.
Down, it produces
Latin groove
Programming
sounds

As classical analogue drum boxes,

percussive sounds mix
sine wave and noise sounds.
Program the sound of each percussion
and of the bass line in the the Sound page.
For each percussive sound, tune the pitch of the sine
oscillator. Program it's attack and decay.
Program the depth of the envelope to the pitch
(none effect centred).
The noise generator allows to create
several types of sounds,
from Q effects to White Noise effects,
throw Tube sounds.
The Tone controls are really powerful ones :
The Tone switch permits 3 kinds of oscillators sources.
F min and F max knobs are the controls of the minimal
and maximum frequencies of the noise.
If they are equal, or if F max is less than F min, the
Noise generator produces a Q effect.
Else, it produces tube, then noise effects.
The Noise generator disposes
of its own envelope generator.
Note the WN FM knob :
this control permits to create FM effects
modulating the Sine Oscillator
by the Noise generator.
Mix the two sources.
Listen to the sound using the « Try » button.
Bass sound synthesizer uses a super wave oscillator,
and a sine sub bass oscillator too.
Control the wave, the number and the detune
of the oscillators as you want to.
The envelope can control the effect
of the Moog like filter.
Integration
in the
MIDI host sequencer.
The Six Toungs Drums and Bass line
has powerful capabilities of integration
in the MIDI environment
of the host sequencer.
The sequencer can be slaved to the host sequencer
using Start Input Host Sequencer function :
then, the Drums and Bass Line will start only when
the host sequencer will be playing.
The « Bar Reset » button synchronises the
Drums and Bass line to the measure of the host
sequencer : first time of the measure will be the same
for all the system!

Only 4 bars measures are recognised, please use division

controller to create different measures.
When the “bar reset” function is on,
the sequencer uses double of steps than what is
indicated in the division selection :
Division Nb. of steps
1/1 2
1/2 4
1/3 6
1/4 8 etc.

We recommend to use this function for a better

synchronisation of the Drums and Bass line
with the host sequencer.
Prefer modify the tempo of the host sequencer if you
need 32 steps : you will need to use then the 1/16
subdivision of the BMP.
Connect a MIDI keyboard, via a MIDI track,
to the Drums and Bass line
If the Tuner selector indicates “Self tune”,
the bass line is accorded with the “Self Tune” knob,
but if the selector indicates “MIDI input”,
then the bass line will be slaved to the MIDI note input,
and the sequence of the bass line will be transposed
changing the MIDI note.
To use externals drums sounds with your sequence,
connect your favourite drums sounds player
to the MIDI output of the Drums and Bass line.
Choose the channel 10.
In the sequence page, choose witch patterns
will be played by the external player.
Mix the several sources as you like with
the host sequencer mix table.
To play the bass line sequence with another
synthesizer, connect the MIDI input of this external
synthesizer to the MIDI output of the Drums and Bass
line. Choose channel 2 for it.
Switch on the MIDI out button of the Bass line. The
external sequencer will play the sequence.
(Don't forget to switch on the record button).
Table of the MIDI environment functions :

- Host sequencer start.

- Bar reset .
- Tunes the Bass line with the MIDI note input
- External drums sounds MIDI output.
- External Bass synthesizer MIDI output.
