Supposed you are living in a city that depends on electronic production for its development.
A recent study indicates that all multi-national electronic manufacturing companies the city
will relocate themselves to China and Viet Nam within 20 years. Write a plan for
sustainability of the city.

We cannot expect what will happen in future but we can plan for the future events. In order to
overcome our problem which is always depending on electronic production for its
development, we need to have a proper planning from now towards. Suppose, we know that
all multi-national electronic manufacturing companies at this Negeri Sembilan will relocate
themselves to China and Vietnam within 20 years. So, we need to have other alternatives
which can help our city to survive in future. As, we know Seremban City is a popular in their
various manufacturing centre in Senawang. We have to planning for a unique plan which can
replace these multi-national electronic manufacturing companies.

In addition to identifying the future development also identified significant challenges that
have to be taken into account when creating a strategic plan for the future:

•‘ Intellectual and social capital ± to compete in the international knowledge economy

means ensuring the appropriate people, skills and capabilities are developed.
•‘ 0emocratic capital ± city administrations need to be accountable and transparent in
dialogue with citizens.
•‘ Culture and leisure capital ± a strong city brand is a potent visibility. The Barcelona
Olympics propelled the city on to the world stage but competition for sporting or cultural
events like this is intense.
•‘ £nvironmental capital ± cities have to provide a clean, green and safe environment.
Oslo¶s municipal plan emphasises the importance of maintaining its ³blue green´
distinctiveness arising from its proximity to both the fjord and the forest.
×

•‘ Technical capital ± technology must be able to support the changing needs of citizens.
This includes basic needs like transport, housing, water and energy as well as new
demands for effective communication like broadband and electronic networks.
•‘ Ôinancial capital ± growing demand on diminishing revenue bases needs creative and
flexible financial strategies and increasingly partner with the private sector.

These Problems create both opportunities and threats so the strategic agenda of tomorrow is a
unique interpretation of them and their impact on cities:

•‘ -lobalisation / glocalisation - the global economy is becoming truly integrated and there
is simultaneous global and local focus known as globalization. -lobal companies and
economies work in local competition but within global structures so the movement of a
multinational company from or out a city affects many areas of life.
•‘ Individualism ± an increasingly important social trend which impacts the dialogue
between the city and its demanding citizens who need to be viewed as consumers.
•‘ [erging ± many areas of life are merging together in new ways: work and leisure, culture
and values, public and private sectors in public private partnerships.
•‘ Acceleration ± speed is increasing in all areas of life, often driven by information and
communications technology.
•‘ ri-tech ± technology has implications for the delivery of all existing services and many
more in the future.
•‘ ri-touch ± the hardware of technology must go together with the software of emotions,
nostalgia, architecture and design.
•‘ 0emographics ± the ageing population will have a major impact across the globe.
•‘ ‰rbanisation ± µmetropolitanisation¶ means that large cities have a growing influence on
the economic health and prosperity of wider regions and in some cases nations.
•‘ [igration ± increased migration presents major challenges around social cohesion,
integration and employment.

We are looking for new sources beside these multi-national electronic manufacturing
companies. We have planned to make Negeri Sembilan as a City of education hospitality and
produce new sources of energy in future in order to have the transformation economics
system. Other than that is to make Negeri Sembilan as one of Tourism State.

The £conomic Transformation Programme (£TP) is a comprehensive effort that will

transform [alaysia into a high-income nation by 2020. Successful implementation of the
£TP will see [alaysia¶s economy undergo significant changes to resemble other developed
nations. We will continue our shift towards a service-based economy, with the services sector
contribution growing from 58 percent to 65 percent in the same period.

[ore than 3.3 million new jobs will be created by 2020, spread across the country in urban
and rural areas. The nature of these new jobs will result in a shift towards middle and high-
income salary brackets. Ôinally, growth will be achieved in a sustainable manner, without
cost to future generations, through initiatives such as building alternative energy generation
capacity and conserving our environment to promote eco-tourism.

The rospital School is one of our planning in future because it will contribute in our cities
economic in term of increasing the teacher posting. We provide an educational service for
students to Year 12. The criteria of our educational health planning are stated as below:

•‘ Students who are admitted to other wards of the rospital are visited by the teacher,
but where possible they are brought to the school.
•‘ Preschoolers are welcome as part of our Kindergarten Orientation program into this
educational health planning.
•‘ The length of stay of our students varies from days to months or may involve
recurrent admissions.
•‘ Parents are welcome in the school and interaction is encouraged.

This school will provides a happy, safe and supportive environment assisting students to
maintain their educational program so as to facilitate a smooth transition back to their home
school.
·

In future, we have planned to have the school offers a µ0ay Student Program¶ to those
students who, on the advice of their specialist doctor, are unable to return to their home
school. The length of stay at the school varies and is dependent on their doctor's
recommendations.

The Children's Ward has a µ[edical Specialist Team¶ that is responsible for the treatment and
rehabilitation of children who have sustained in any traumatic injury. The Principal at the
school is a member of this team, working in collaboration with the therapists to implement
rehabilitation strategies.

This program indirectly gives an advantage to our cities and it also contributes to our future
economic system.

•‘ Increasing the number of teacher and doctor posting due to our government system
which has announced the retired age is 58 years old. This affect in our teacher posting
system. As a graduate student increase every year, we should provide a new teaching
system like we mention before. This will give an advantage to our medical student
and Sciences course Student.
•‘ There will need to have a privatization system, who can contribute to our economic
system.
•‘ Improve quality of life and make a positive difference, providing merit based
effective healthcare products for the well-being of our customers.
•‘ This will be the first hospital which serves this educational health system in [alaysia.

Wind energy prediction is, and will remain, a very critical part of the development of a Power
Sources System. We have planning to have the station for wind power energy at somewhere
around Port 0ickson. The most suitable is shore line. £normous investments are made based
on the estimates provided and our budget for future income. We also plan for hydro power at
Sg. Terip 0am.
ü

The main parameters governing wind and hydro power economics include:

•‘ Investment costs, such as auxiliary costs for foundation and grid connection;
•‘ Operation and maintenance costs;
•‘ £lectricity production/average wind and hydro speed;
•‘ Turbine lifetime; and
•‘ 0iscount rate.

The most important parameters are turbine electricity production and investment costs. As
electricity production depends to a large extent on wind conditions, choosing the right turbine
site is critical to achieving economic viability.

There are a few advantage give to our state, which can increase the economic situation.
Below are the advantage of our strategy about this construction of wind and hydro power

•‘ Wind energy doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil
fuels, such as coal or natural gas.
•‘ Wind energy relies on the renewable power of the wind, which can't be used up. Wind is
actually a form of solar energy.
•‘ Wind turbines can be built on farms or ranches, thus benefiting the economy in rural
areas, where most of the best wind sites are found. Ôarmers and ranchers can continue to
work the land because the wind turbines use only a fraction of the land.
•‘ rydropower plants provide benefits in addition to clean electricity.
•‘ The major advantage of hydroelectricity is elimination of the cost of fuel. The cost of
operating a hydroelectric plant is nearly immune to increases in the cost of fossil
fuels such as oil, natural gas or coal, and no imports are needed.
•‘ rydroelectric plants have long economic lives, with some plants still in service after 50-
100 years.
•‘ Operating labor cost is also usually low, as plants are automated and have few personnel
on site during normal operation.
•‘ Indirectly, we also can increase the number of workers. So, the opportunity for job
required can also be increased.
