Student Success Stories
From medical strategists to healthcare man-
agers, health advisors to executive leaders,
graduates of the Healthcare Leadership pro-
gram go on to a variety of positions within
the healthcare industry. Take alumna Kath-
erine Blair for example; a 2011 graduate
of the Healthcare Leadership program and
Sturm College of Law at the University of
Denver, Katherine is now the Senior Policy
Advisor on Health at the Governors Ofce
in Colorado. The Healthcare Leadership
degree really provided strong foundational
understandings of the health system and how
it works, she said. To see more of Katherines

The greatest benet I received [in earning my masters degree in Healthcare Leader-
ship] was learning to analyze the nancial condition of my clinic, along with the impact
of the Affordable Care Act. Having the goal of a Masters of Professional Studies de-
gree gave me the incentive to spend long hours gathering data, comparing numbers
from prior years, and thinking about where I had been and where I want to go. My
clinic managers are so thankful for my new interest in the behind-the-business aspect
of medicine! Physician
The classes that I have taken throughout this program have been so useful as a health-
care leader in my full time job. The classes here taught me not only to be a better and
more effective leader, but I now understand the value of all the elements in healthcare
leadership, such as leadership development, healthcare systems, laws, ethics, and the
new Affordable Care Act. Registered Nurse
I am challenged to think about our delivery of healthcare and how it impacts our com-
munity. Personally it has equipped me to lead as a healthcare provider in advocating
for expanding services for the communities that I serve. And as adjunct faculty for Bach-
elor of Science in Nursing students, I hope that I help to plant a seed of understanding
of the importance of the nurses role in legislation and how it impacts patients and the
professionals that serve them. Registered Nurse
The program was very conducive to someone who is working full time in the busy
medical eld. I have really enjoyed the program. I found every class very interesting
and informative. Practice Manager
The program taught me the difference between management and leadership along
with letting me see diversication within the healthcare world. I have been able to meet
those who are in all different areas of the healthcare arena including, administration,
human resources, information technology, nursing, stand-alone medical ofces, and
various entrepreneurs. Registered Nurse

Student Success Stories
From medical strategists to healthcare man-
agers, health advisors to executive leaders,
graduates of the Healthcare Leadership pro-
gram go on to a variety of positions within
the healthcare industry. Take alumna Kath-
erine Blair for example; a 2011 graduate
of the Healthcare Leadership program and
Sturm College of Law at the University of
Denver, Katherine is now the Senior Policy
Advisor on Health at the Governors Ofce
in Colorado. The Healthcare Leadership
degree really provided strong foundational
understandings of the health system and how
it works, she said. To see more of Katherines
story, and to watch other alumni testimonials,

I got a new job as a healthcare IT consultant in Denver, I am so happy! Healthcare

From medical strategists to healthcare man-
agers, health advisors to executive leaders,
graduates of the Healthcare Leadership pro-

the healthcare industry. Take alumna Kath-
erine Blair for example; a 2011 graduate
of the Healthcare Leadership program and
Sturm College of Law at the University of
Denver, Katherine is now the Senior Policy
Advisor on Health at the Governors Ofce
in Colorado. The Healthcare Leadership
degree really provided strong foundational
understandings of the health system and how

I have been able to meet

human resources, information technology, nursing, stand-alone medical ofces, and
various entrepreneurs. Registered Nurse
