ANNOUNCEMENTS
Weekly Nursery Schedule – Due to the growing size of our
nursery ministry, On-Call nursery workers will need to
permanently report to nursery each week to assist with the nursery.
From now on, all needed nursery workers will be listed in the
weekly bulletin next to the title “Nursery AM” and “Nursery PM.”
Thank you so much for your kind and generous support for the
little ones and families of the church.
Cedar Senior High Can Collection - The senior high will be
doing a Pop can collecting event on May 30 to help fund their
mission trip. If you want to donate any cans you can bring them to
church.
Jonathan Igo’s Open House – You are cordially invited to
celebrate Jon’s graduation from Hudsonville High School at the
home of Pastor Steve & Lynn on Thursday, June 9 from 6 – 9 PM
at 7471 Woodcliff Drive in Hudsonville.
Cedar Jr. High Campout & Hike – On June 12-15, Pastor Steve
and Lynn will take our Cedar Jr. High Youth Group on a camping
& hiking retreat to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and
Tahquamenon Falls. Cost: $30. Information & packing list was
sent out by email out last week! All interested students and their
parents should register with Pastor Steve or Lynn this week!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Young Adult Summer Camping Weekend – On June 10-12, post-
high young adults (& graduating seniors) from across the presbytery
are invited to a weekend campout on the back dunes and hardwood
forest of Muskegon State Park in Western Michigan. Pastor Bob Van
Manen (Little Farms OPC) will join the campers, leading them in
Bible Study, and prayer time. Little Farms OPC will host the young
adults for the closing worship service and fellowship meal at their
church in Coopersville on Sunday morning. Cost of the trip is
$25/participant. Brochures are available at the church, or by visiting

Summer Quarter for Kids Begins June 12 – From June 12 – July
31, our Kids Sunday School will experience some exciting
summertime variety. Our traditional classes for kids will shift gears
into an 8 week summertime ministry - called Catechism Club - for
kids who are age 4 through 6th grade (just completed) and will meet in
the gymnasium for games, activities, crafts, stories, Bible memory
and catechism studies. This year, our senior high youth group (with
help from their Sunday School adult teachers!) will lead our summer
club to gain experience for their Navajo Mission Trip on July 22. In
‘Q & A about God’, students will learn all about one God in three
persons, that he is everywhere, knows all things, and can do all His
holy will. Your kids won’t want to miss it.
Cookout/bonfire - You know it’s summer when you can smell
hamburgers on the grill; listen for the slap on the football just before
it’s thrown “go deep!”; hear the crackle of the bon fire as some
unsuspecting person’s ooey-gooey marshmallow drops into the fire –
bursting into flame; hear kids’ voices squealing in the background on
a warm Saturday evening. Come on over to enjoy sweet fellowship
and relax to all of these sights, sounds, and smells of summer! You
are all welcome at the Baker’s home on Saturday, June 25 from 5:30
until…whenever! Watch for a signup sheet to come out for this

OPC Tornado Relief Trip – You are in invited to join of team of
6-7 people using our hands, feet, and chainsaw for the glory of
Christ at Rocket City (near Huntsville AL) from Sunday, May 29
(in the afternoon) through Friday June 3 (late). God sent a tornado
and He provided an opportunity for you to love people by picking
up the debris. Providence OPC is located in Madison, AL has
invited a team of volunteers from our presbytery to help clean-up
the debris of the tornado God sent on April 27, 2011. Providence
OPC will provide a place to sleep (church floor), a shower (Pastor
Darren Thole’s apartment), and coordinate with the United Way so
we can help with the people with genuine needs. There will be
minimal (hopefully none) out of pocket cost for the trip. Your
biggest cost will be your donated time but your reward will be
eternal. If you are definitely interested in joining the group please
contact Dean Bekkering. If you are mildly interested in joining the
team but are unsure about something please give me a call and I
will attempt to relieve your fears and do what I can to talk you into
it. I plan to have some fun and so should you.
