Like so many of our students, Sherri leveraged and built upon years of career experience with the practical skills and real-world theory she needed to advance her career. After more than a dozen years in journalism, including research, reporting, and editing positions with the New York Times and the Rocky Mountain News, she earned her masters degree in communication. She now hosts the ground-breaking, nationally syndicated, primetime PBS program Latin View. Every week a panel of experts discusses and debates issues that concern the Latino community. Sherri is doing something that matters to so many people. I wanted a degree that would provide me with the practical skills I needed and also had the respect of the professional community...my projects focused on real issues making the skills I developed that much more relevant to my career. A real benet was the different perspectives my peers and faculty brought to class...
