among
Newsweek’s
greenest
companies
(Reston,
Virginia)
Four
Practice
Greenhealth
member
companies
have
been
named
for
superior
environmental
performance
and
initiatives
by
Newsweek
magazine,
which
published
the
rankings
in
its
2010
Green
Rankings
report.
The
rankings
are
a
data-‐driven
assessment
of
the
500
largest
publicly
companies
in
the
U.S.
and
the
100
largest
publicly
traded
companies
in
the
world.
Publicly
traded
Practice
Greenhealth
member
companies
that
made
the
top
500
U.S.
green
rankings
include
Johnson
&
Johnson
(#4),
Becton
Dickinson
(#24),
Hospira
(#74)
and
Stryker
(#273).
Johnson
&
Johnson
was
also
among
the
greenest
companies
in
Newsweek’s
Top
100
global
list,
ranked
third.

To
produce
the
2010
Green
Rankings,
NEWSWEEK
collaborated
with
research
organizations
and
an
organization
that
tracks
corporate
social
responsibility,
sustainability,
and
environmental
reports.
The
goal
of
the
rankings
was
to
assess
each
company’s
actual
environmental
footprint
and
management
of
that
footprint
(including
policies
and
strategies),
along
with
its
reputation
among
environmental
experts.
Newsweek’s
U.S.
500
list
includes
the
largest
publicly
traded
U.S.
companies,
and
the
Global
100
list
includes
the
largest
publicly
traded
companies
based
in
developed
and
emerging
markets.
Company
size
was
evaluated
according
to
revenue
(most
recent
fiscal
year),
market
capitalization,
and
number
of
employees,
all
as
of
March
31,
2010.
