Categories of Work Displayed


Category I: Oil and acrylic painting
Category II: Watercolors, drawings, pastels and other 2-D
media (no limited edition commercial prints or reproductions).
Category III: Photography
The above categories: All work must be framed and wired for
hanging and no larger than 32 x 50 inches including frame.
Work that is not wired will not be displayed.
Category IV: Three dimensional: A- Wood & Pottery;
B- Fiber & Jewelry; C- Other
(NO KITS, wreaths, or dried arrangements).
Appropriate display equipment or stands must be provided by
entrants.

AWARDS
Artists are eligible for one of the following awards of cash and
ribbon, selected by the judge: Best in Show ($200)
First ($125) Second ($100) Third ($75)
in categories I, II, & III. Category IV (3-D): One First
Place ($125) (3-D) Second ($ 75) in each subdivision
A, B, & C (3-D) Third ($40) in each subdivision:
A, B, & C
*Bull Mt. Arts, Inc. member award $50.
*Merit Awards- at the discretion of the judge – ($40)
For each award
*People’s Choice Award is chosen by a tally of votes from
show visitors - totaled at the end of the show ($50)
*Elma Carter Award – ( $ 30 and a Jefferson Cup)
Award is chosen by Friends of Elma Carter.
*A SPECIAL AWARD from categories I, II, or III
Talley’s Custom Frame & Gallery in Mt. Airy

Artists must be 18 years or older. All work must be original work,
completed within the past three years, and not shown in a previous J.E.B.
Stuart Art Show. Artists must be a resident of Patrick, Surry, Stokes,
The Reynolds Homestead Henry, Franklin, Floyd, or Carroll Counties. Natives of Patrick Country and
463 Homestead Lane, Critz, VA members of Bull Mountain Arts are also eligible. Two works of art may be

Roanoke native, Robin Poteet, has spent much of her career
working as an independent graphic designer for well known

PEOPLE’S CHOICE VOTING Sept. 6 thru Oct. 27
Painting has always been her passion and Robin also teaches a

only one vote per person) variety of watercolor classes and workshops. She was chosen as
one of 10 national “Ones To Watch” in the Dec. 2010 issue of
“Watercolor Artist Magazine”, and was featured again in the
Exhibition Dates at the Homestead magazine’s June 2011 issue. She appreciates the unique
September 6 through October 28, 2011 perspective each artist brings to a show and is looking forward
to being our judge.

Saturday, October29, 2011 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All entries will be displayed as space permits, unless deemed unsuitable for
our audience. The Show Committee reserves the right to decide compliance
with rules and to resolve issues not covered by them.
Exhibition of Award Winners at the While care will be taken in handling the work, neither the BMA, nor Reynolds
Patrick County Library, Stuart VA Homestead, nor the Patrick County Library assumes liability for damage or
