Open Circuit vs Closed Circuit Systems

If your application requires your machine to travel less than 10% of the total working time and remain stationary for longer
periods, such as drilling, shredding or crushing, an open circuit propel system is recommended. The open circuit propel
system utilizes a closed center valve to control and divert flow from load-sensing pumps so it may be used for other functions,
allowing for maximum utilization of the machine's installed hydraulics.

However, if your application requires your machine to perform its work by moving about frequently, such as dozing or moving
materials from one location to another, a closed circuit propel system is recommended. The closed circuit propel system
utilizes an over-center pump for each propel motor, to provide the dedicated flow required to propel the machine for a high
percentage of its duty cycle.
