Synopsis:
Has Experience for about 3.5 years, as a System Administrator (AIX), AIX Logical Volume
Manger, HACMP Cluster Administration, Configuring and managing VIO Server, LPAR,
DLPAR Machines.

Professional Working as a Systems Engineer in WIPRO TECHNOLOGES,
Experience: Bangalore from Dec -2006 to till now.
Detailed Experience:
• AIX Logical Volume Manager – creating volume groups, logical volumes, file systems,
etc., resizing file systems, working with mount points such as changing mount point
for file system.
• Migrating logical volumes, mirroring vgs and lvs, copying logical volumes, export and
importing volume groups
• Performance monitoring using vmstat, iostat, sar, topas, netstat and nmon and
analyzing these reports to figure out any performance issues.
• Recovering root password, replacing failed hard disks, making disks high available by
mirroring volume groups, logical volumes etc.,
• Attending daily issues such as file system management, housekeeping, checking disk
usages etc.,
• Analyzing log files, checking error report and taking pro-active steps.
• Configuring redundant logical volumes, file systems to make sure high availability.
• Fixing booting related issues, working with boot list in SMS modes, bosboot to fix
booting problems.
• Scheduling jobs using crontab – editing, removing and checking cron logs.
• Creating Volume Group, Logical volumes and file systems in both standalone and HA
environment. Checking the file systems and increase/decrease the file system if
required.
• Taking regular system backup using mksysb and volume group backup using savevg
utilities.
• HACMP - Monitoring servers, Starting and Stopping Cluster Services, moving resource
groups across the nodes, increasing filesystem in cluster filesystem, synchronizing
cluster resources and cluster verification.
• Perform health checks on HACMP nodes, running cluster statistics to find cluster
stability, finding resource group status etc.
• Managing High Available Cluster nodes (HACMP) – Cluster Starting, Stopping, Moving
resources from one node to another, Trouble shooting and checking up logs etc.,
• Dedicated and shared processors, logical processor, processing unit, and allocation
of processing power from the shared processor pool etc.,
• VIO Server operations, creating virtual adapters and configuring ethernet or LUNs .
