DateTrack Tables
• DateTrack table names ends with ‘_F’
• Primary key consists of 3 columns to
form a unique combination:
– effective_start_date

– xxxx_id (Ex. Person_id)
• Makes writing queries longer
Business Group
• The highest grouping in HR (similar to
Operating Unit) related to countries
• Business groups are associated to a
responsibility
– Which means that the data in that
responsibility is restricted to that business
group

HR Shared vs. Full Install
• Shared Install - HR only serves the purpose of
supporting your applications
• Full Install – typically when installing HR
• Moving from Shared > Full invalidates
thousands of objects
• If you’ve installed Full, you cannot use the
purchasing form to create employees???
• If you have problems with employees, and
install is shared see note 260683.1
HR Shared Install: Security
• Security Profiles restrict data based on
specific criteria
• HR:Security Profile associates the
security profile with the responsibility

• Organization Security for Financials and
Manufacturing Business Views
– create a single security profile that secures
data either by single operating unit or by
operating unit and inventory organizations,
as required

• If no security profiles = no problem
• If using HR:Security Profile and did not set
MO:Security Profile profile option
• If using HR:Security Profile and set
MO:Security Profile profile = the need to
modify their security setup to reflect the fact
that the financial and manufacturing business
views will now be securing data using the
MO:Security Profile profile option
Locations
• HR Locations are shared with financials
• HR Locations are in PER_LOCATIONS
• Additionally locations are stored in
HZ_LOCATIONS
Organizations
• HR_ALL_ORGANIZATION_UNITS - is used
by the following:

Inventory, Master Scheduling, BOM,


Engineering, Projects, Order Entry, Grants
Management, HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time
Management, Labor Distribution, etc. (This list
may not be complete)
TCA - Trading Community
Architecture
• Single source of party information for
multiple Oracle E-Business Suite
applications
• Parties are entities, of type Person,
Organization, or Relationship, that can
enter into business relationships
HR and TCA
• Creating a person in HR creates an entry in
HZ_PARTIES table
• Potential Duplicate Message with Business
Group of external may pop up
– The criteria First name, last name, date of birth the
same or national identifier the same External means
the person exists in Oracle Trading Community
Architecture (TCA) but not in Oracle Human
Resources (HR) as an external person
Prevent Sensitive HR Data
from Entering TCA Tables
• Older version of HZ had this problem:
• Sensitive Data entered into TCA from HR:
Gender, Marital Status, Date of Birth, and Place
of Birth
• TCA Data is exposed in many user interfaces
• To stop entry, set the HZ: Protect HR Person
Information profile option to Yes to stop
• To remove sensitive data: Run the Remove
Protected HR Person Data From TCA Tables
HRMS Integration with
TCA PER G
• For Global enterprises: employees
transferring between business groups will
validate against TCA
– Benefit is to propagate info across business
group
