Kirby Science Center—
Center—Field Trip
With approximately 100 interactive exhibits, the Kirby Science Discovery
Center offers an incredible array of fun and educational activities. Young
minds learn best by getting their hands on something and going to work.
That’s what the Science Center is all about. Three different levels allow
people of all ages to hang-glide, explore space, learn about tornadoes,
dig for dinosaurs, rock-climb, race each other and make music, movies
and all kinds of other fun. Kids find something new every time they go
and parents can enjoy a little time away from home as their kids run,
laugh and learn.
Little Friends, Ready for a day filled with science?
How about a trip to the Washington Pavilion & Wells Fargo Cinedome for Shackleton’s
Antartica Adventrue.
We will meet at the Fry’n Pan to board the bus at 8:15, June 16th. Please bring a sack
lunch and a drink-no pop. We will have a cooler on the bus if your lunch needs to be in a
cooler. Please make sure to bring your release form, you can not board the bus without a
sign form. RSVP by June 6th. There is limited seating. We will be boarding the bus to re-
turn to Yankton at 2:45. Guardians please plan to have your child picked up at 4 PM in the
Yankton Mall parking lot by Fry n’ pan. Friends of the Program will be asked to help chaper-
one, and be paired with a Little Friend. All cell phones and Ipod, etc. need to be turned into
me at the beginning of the day and will be returned at the end.

Big Friends: we are in need of chaparones. If you would like to help, please contact me if
you are able to join us.

We are moving
The United Way offices, BFLF and several other offices will be
moving in mid June to the Marne Creek office building at 610
W 23rd St. Suite 11 (same phone number.)
Moving days are June 15th-June 30th. I will not be able to
take visitors or appts during this time. I hope you stop by to
see me in my new office, once I am all moved in. We are in
deperate need of FREE storage. If you know of anyone or
place, let me know. Thank you.
United Way and BFLF were very generous and sent me to a
CHARCTER COUNTS! seminar for 3 days in Chicago.
I came back with my head so full of activities and excited with
this program. I know the youth use CHARACTER COUNTS! in
school, now we will extend it through our day at our fun func-
tions and I hope to have a training with the mentors soon. Every-
one can benefit from this program.
I know our youth can learn to be valued and show value in oth-
ers. Show responsibility, trustworthiness, respect, fairness, car-
ing & citizenship. This is the what we should all model in our
character.
Character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.

a time for lessons or just a time to practice. They also have summer classes and many other programs as
well for you to join in. We also want those that are matched to take advantage of their programs and visit
the complex together. Give BFLF a call and we will tell you how you can do this.
