STAGNATION INCREMENTS (W.E.F. 1ST NOVEMBER,2007):

Scale I : First 2 increments of 800 & next two increments of 900


Scale II : Three Stagnation increments of 900 each
Scale III : Four Stagnation increments of 900 each

NOTE :
1. Officers after reaching maximum of the higher Scale shall be
eligible for stagnation increments i.e., each for every three
completed years of service.
2. Officers completed 3 years or more after receipt of 1st stagnation
increment (in case of Scale II) and 2nd stagnation increment (in
case of Scale I & II) as on 01.11.2007 will get 2nd Stagnation
increment (in case of Scale II) and 3rd stagnation increment (in case
of scale I & II) on 01.11.2007 and another stagnation increment on
or after 01.11.2008 on their completion of 6 years after receipt of
1st stagnation ( in case of Scale II) and 2nd stagnation (in case of
Scale I & III).

DEARNESS ALLOWANCE (W.E.F. 1ST NOVEMBER, 2007):

In a Block of 4 years, officer may travel to place of domicile in 2 years

DEFINITION OF FAMILY

Spouse, wholly dependent unmarried children (including dependent step


children and legally adopted children), physically challenged
brother/sister with 40% or more disability, wholly dependent parents
ordinarily residing with and wholly dependent on the officer – wholly
dependent child/parent shall mean such member of family having
monthly income not exceeding Rs.3,500/- p.m. if income of both parents
Rs.3,500/- p.m. or the aggregate income of both the parents exceeds
Rs.3500/- p.m. both parents shall not be eligible as dependent.

PROJECT AREA ALLOWANCE (W.E.F. 01.11.2007) :


Group A – 290/- p.m., Group B-Rs.255/- p.m.

MID ACADEMIC YEAR TRANSFER ALLOWANCE (W.E.F. 01.05.2010):

LEAVE :

CASUAL LEAVE: 12 day in a calendar year. No other leave to be clubbed


with this leave.
UN-AVAILED CASUAL LEAVE: Accumulation of un-availed CL of any
year for a period of 3 years. UCL for 3 days can be availed at a time
without production of Medical Certificate.
PRIVELEGE LEAVE: 1 day for every 11 days of service on duty with
maximum 240 days. To be credited on 1st January every year.
SICK LEAVE: 30 days on half pay for each completed year of service with
max. 540 days. To be credited on 1st January every year. After
completion of 24 years of service, additional SL will be granted @ 30
days/per year with Max 3 months on half pay.
MATERNITY LEAVE : (w.e.f. 01.05.2010) on substantive pay: Maximum
12 months during entire period of service. Not exceeding 6 months on
any one occasion.
JOINING TIME LEAVE: 7 days excluding journey time in case of transfer
outside the agglomeration area. No other leave to be clubbed with this
leave.
SPECIAL LEAVE TO AUDIT OFFICERS: 2 days on completion of Audit
Tour or Min 30 days and additional one day beyond 30 days with a
minimum tour period of 15 days.
In order to rejuvenate the employee, each employee be encouraged to on
10 days leave in year in terms of SC CIR No.4912 dated 31.10.2002.
SABBATICAL LEAVE (SC 4666 dated 20.10.02 and 4651 dated
31.10.02):
Purpose: Either studies in Abroad or Inland, participation in
artistic/cultural activities, assisting children settled abroad, supervision
of construction of house.
Eligibility : 10 years of satisfactory service. Period: 5 years with a further
extension of 5 years with number of occasion restricted to 2 times in the
entire service.

MINOR OPERATIONS
D&C, fissure, circumcision, small hydrocele, dilation, vasectomy,
abscess, appendix, piles, fistula, minor operation of eye, nose and ear
(time taken approx 60 minutes or less)

Medical expense incurred within 30 days of pre and post hosp. period on
medical advice allowed and special and major operations, post
hospitalisation medical expenditure for not exceeding 45 days is allowed
subject to medical advice.

Medicines, drugs, injections, (incl. disposable syringes) bandages and


dressing material, etc. except tonics/vitamins (subject to essential
certificate) is allowed.
STAFF WELFARE MEASURES

Scheme for reimbursement of school fees etc. to wards of


employees: The Scheme provides for reimbursement of tuition fees, term
fees, examination fees etc. not exceeding Rs.1500/- (from the academic
year 2005-06) per year or the claim whichever is less. School education
of the employee’s ward commencing from Nursery to Standard XII is
covered under the scheme.

As per existing welfare schemes bank provides financial assistance to
physically handicapped employees by way of reimbursement of max. of
Rs.3000/- per year. Not it will be extended to the physically handicapped
children of the employees for payment of school/computer course fees,
purchase of crutches/hearing aids/Braille books/artificial legs/shoes,
support for polio limbs etc., for an amount of Rs.1000/- (maximum) per
year.
Schemes for payment of incentive on successfully completing
correspondence diploma courses/MBA programme conducted by Indian
Institute of Banking in collaboration with IGNOU, New Delhi a
honorarium of Rs.5000/- to those candidates who completed Diploma
Courses on IIB and Rs.10000/- to whose who completed MBA
programme (Banking & Finance) conducted by IGNOU.
Scheme for providing financial assistance to the children pursuing either
10 + 2 or 12+3/4 level of study (at the time of death of employee) of

Scheme for payment of Ex-gratia against Hospitalization Expenses:

The bank is granting ex-gratia to the employees against hospitalization


expenses specifically for major ailments/major surgery requiring
hospitalization. The ex-gratia in respect of employees is restricted to
Rs.1.50 lac or 90% of the difference between the total amount of
hospitalization incurred and the eligible amount of reimbursement as per
rules in force which ever is less. In case of eligible dependent family
members for ex-gratia is restricted to Rs.1.00 lac or 75% of the difference
between the total amount of hospitalization incurred and the eligible
amount of reimbursement as per rules in force which ever is less. It has
now been decided to include minor surgeries for considering ex-gratia
against hospitalization expenses.
As per amended provision, payment of ex-gratia will also be considered
for the domiciliary treatment of cancer, which requires Chemotherapy
subject to specified limits.

Reimbursement of expenses for Health check up:


The scheme for reimbursement of health check up is available for
employees in the age group of 40+, which is Rs.1000/- in case of male
employee and Rs.1700/- in case of female employee. The female
employee can undergo Mammography or Ultrasonography. In case of
Mammography they will be reimbursed Rs.700/- and in case of
Ultrasonography the actual claim for that particular test will be
reimbursed.
Farewell scheme for retiring employees:
The farewell scheme for retiring employees came into effect from 1st July
2003. The retiring employee can now be presented with a mememto
costing not more than Rs.5000/-.

Union Bank of India Retired Employees Medical assistance Scheme


(UBIREMAS)
The subject scheme was introduced w.e.f. 01.01.2003 for the benefit of
retired employees of our bank and their spouses who are not gainfully
employed. Under the scheme, total reimbursement of hospitalization
expenses is now enhanced to Rs.75000/- to the family unit (retired
employee and/or spouse) during the entire currency of membership.

Medical Clinic-Diagnostic Facility to retired employee:


As per amended provisions the eligible retired employees will be allowed
to undergo diagnostic tests of their choice costing not more than
Rs.1000/- per financial year with the advice of doctor operating at
Bank’s medical clinic.
The ex-gratia payment of adjustment of outstanding in staff housing
loan of deceased officers will be restricted to 56% of balance
outstanding in staff housing loan or Rs.2.00 lac whichever is less.

The amount of canteen subsidy stands revised to Rs.150/- p.m.

DRF Scheme:

In the event of member’s death an amount of Rs.2.50 lacs will be paid to


family members/nominees. In case of superannuation Rs.25000/- will be
paid from the fund.

FAMILY PLANNING INCENTIVE:

PROVIDENT FUND:

1. Pf Optees to pay 10% of the pay towards PF contribution with


matching contribution from employer.
2. Pension optees to pay 10% of the pay towards PF contribution with
no matching contribution from employer.
3. Those officers joining on or after 01.04.2010 will contribute 10% of
pay plus DA and the bank will make matching contribution. Such
officers will be covered by Defined Contributory Pension scheme as
introduced for Central Govt employee wife 01.01.2004. The scheme

UBI EMPLOYEES P.F.:


Non refundable withdrawal (Staff circular no.4354 dated
01.04.1997)

Eligibility : Completed 10 years of service or due to retirement within


next 10 years. Only twice in entire service.
Amount : 50% of their total accumulations (i.e. voluntary + own +
bank’s contribution), less provident Fund loan outstanding (if any) at
the time of application.

PURPOSE :
1. For purchase of residential house/flat/plot.
2. For construction of house/extension of house (not for repairs
and renovation).
3. Repayment of housing loan: Contribution (-) loan against PF, if
any.
4. marriage of son/daughter: Those who have opted pension 100%
