1: SIMPLE PENDULUM

Figure 1 and Figure 2 show two positions of a boy on a swing. The angle of oscillation in both
diagrams is at the same angle from the iron pole. He noticed that the shorter swing moves faster
than the longer swing.

EXPERIMENT 2.8: CHANGE IN LENGTH VS VELOCITY

Diagram 3.1 and 3.2 each shows two position of a solid ball which is pressed towards the wall.
The initial position in each diagram is different. The ball moves away from the spring when the
compressive force is removed.
Observe the initial and the final position of the ball in each diagram.

Based on the above information and observations:

EXPERIMENT 3.1: WATER PRESSURE & DEPTH


Diagram shows a model of a water tank that is commonly used at home. Two sources of water
are flow connected to Pipe P and Q. If both of pipes release the water simultaneously, it is found
that the water flows out from both of pipes are different.

In Figure 3, it is easier to walk on the field with sport shoes compared to high-heel shoes. The

EXPERIMENT 3.5: PASCAL’S PRINCIPLE


Diagram 3.1 and 3.2 show a car being lifted on a hydraulic jack. It is found that when a
Pressure of 238 kPa is applied the car is lifted to a 1.20m high. When the pressure is
increased to 450 kPa the car is lifted to a 2.0m high.
Rajah 3.1 dan 3.2 menunjukkan sebuah kereta sedang diangkat menggunakan jek haudrolik.

EXPERIMENT 3.6: ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE
Figure (a), Figure (b) and Figure (c) show three different situations when a fisherman
is pulling a fishing net from the sea. In figure (a), the fisherman finds it easy to pull a
fishing net while most of the net is in the water. However, the fisherman finds it
difficult as the fishing net is emerging from the water surface as shown in Figure (b)
and Figure (c)

EXPERIMENT 4.1: MASS VS TEMPERATURE

In Figure 1, two cooking pot P and Q are made from the same material of equal mass. If equal
amount of heat is supplied to pots P and Q, it is noted that temperature of liquid R in pot P is
higher than in pot Q.

EXPERIMENT 4.3: CHARLE’S LAW

Diagram 4.1 shows a balloon in an air conditioned room. Diagram 4.2 shows a same balloon
placed outside the room during a hot day.

EXPERIMENT 4.4: BOYLE’S LAW


A customer at a pet shop was observing the bubbles of air coming out of an air stone. He noticed
that the bubbles were smaller in size when they emerged from the stone but become larger as
they approached the surface of the water as shown in Figure 1

EXPERIMENT 4.5: PRESSURE LAW


Before travelling on a long journey, Luqman measured the air pressure the tyre of his car as
shown in Figure (a) He found that the air pressure of the tyre was 200 kPa. After the journey,
Luqman measured again the air pressure of the tyre as shown in Figure (b) He found that the air
pressure had increase to 245 kPa. Luqman also found that the tyre was hotter after the journey
although the size of the tyre did not change.
Using the information provided by Luqman and his observations on air pressure in the tyre of
his car:

EXPERIMENT 5.4: OBJECT DISTANCE VS SIZE OF IMAGE

A biologist is testing ways to increase the size of the image of a housefly. Diagram 3.1 shows the image
being observed through a magnifying glass. Diagram 3.2 shows the image observed through the same
magnifying glass when the lens is brought closer to the housefly.
