«The solution of problems in genetics»

The solution of problems in genetics occupies an important


place in biological education, as it is one of the methods of training,
through which provides a deeper and more complete assimilation of
educational material in biology. In the school curriculum in biology,
students are introduced to the solution of problems in genetics twice,
in grade 9 in the theme " The main laws of heredity" in 10th grade, in
the subject " Basics of genetics". In the 11th grade, when some
students begin to prepare for exams in biology, the acquired problem-
solving skills are partially, and sometimes completely lost. In addition,
the study of this course can be useful for those students who do not
pass exams in biology, because such skills as a deep analytical
approach and the ability to build an algorithm solutions can be used
not only in solving problems in genetics, but also in solving problems
in other subjects.
The purpose of the elective course "the Solution of problems in
genetics" is the development of the skills of the participants to analyze
the content of the problem, build a solution algorithm, the
development of General intellectual skills, namely: logical thinking,
abilities to analyze, specify, generalize, to apply the methods of
comparison, the development of creative thinking. When solving
problems, students realize their own activities, ensure the
independence and activity of students, achieve the strength of
knowledge and skills to apply the knowledge in non-standard, creative
tasks. Also, children are brought up hard work, commitment, develop a
sense of responsibility, perseverance and perseverance in achieving
this goal. In the process of solving problems implemented
interdisciplinary connections, showing the unity of nature, which
allows to develop students ' worldview. Performing tasks broadens the
horizons of students, allows you to establish links between phenomena,
between cause and effect, develops the ability to think logically, fosters
the will to overcome difficulties. The ability to solve problems is one of
the indicators of the level of development of thinking of students, the
depth of assimilation of educational material.
This program is designed for students in grade 11, designed for
34 hours. The elective course is presented in the form of a workshop
that will fill the gaps in the knowledge of students on solving problems
of different types and will allow for targeted preparation for the final
exam in biology.
The ability to solve problems develops in the learning process,
and this ability can be developed only in one way - constantly,
systematically solving problems.
Course duration-1 year. The form of classes is regular, includes
individual and group work. The program provides for classroom
training, at the beginning of which the teacher gives theoretical
knowledge, then provides examples of solving problems and at the end
of the students are offered tasks for independent decision. For trained
students at the beginning of a brief repetition of the theoretical
material, and then the students solve the problem. Monitoring of
implementation is carried out by the teacher, or together with pupils.
Each section of the program ends with tasks of a controlling
nature, where students will be able to test their strength, self-
realization and self-assertion in the performance of tasks.

The content of the working program of the elective course


"Solving problems in genetics" for grade 11

This program is the author's, it is made taking into account the


knowledge and skills possessed by students at the time of graduation
from primary school. The relevance of this course is due to the fact
that in the programs of full high school the theme Of "fundamentals
of genetics", in which students solve problems in genetics, studied in
the second half of the 10th grade, at the same time part of the tasks of
examinations in biology contains tasks in genetics. In addition, the
ability to solve problems is universal and can be used by students not
only in biology lessons, but also in solving problems in mathematics,
physics, chemistry.
