Local Pollution Prevention Requirements – Turkish ports

This newsletter focuses on local restrictions on the discharge of grey water, galley water and treated
sewage water and aims to remind all ship owners/managers that the Turkish authorities consider the
discharge of such water to be pollution. Ships discharging such water in Turkish ports may be fined by
the Turkish authorities. Recent developments show that these regulations are being rigorously enforced.
