In my previous position as School Nurse of Kemp Primary School in Clayton C
ounty,
I assumed responsibility of daily health care for 650 students. Included were 3
0 diagnosed with asthma needing daily medication treatment. Included also were
3 Special Education classrooms which included a Diabetic Type 2 child requiring
daily treatment. 2-3 students with asthma along with 4 Special Education studen
ts were treated on the daily lunch hour.
My duties included assessment and prioritization of the care needed, and th
e urgency of that care for each individual student, along with phone calls to th
e children's parents advising their status. On a regular basis, I saw an averag
e of 25-30 students, approximately 18 before the lunch hour, from 8 A.M. to 10:4
