Summary Statement/Introduction: I have over 40 years experience in the area of
Sales. In my business career, I have created valuable relationships that have

As a DSM, I managed six different markets throughout Florida. I was Responsible
for recruiting, training and developing new and established agents. Each of th
ese markets averaged 45 to 50 agents and approximately $75 million in premium.
While managing these Districts, I was number one in production for the entire st
ate, each year. After being assigned to 3 different Districts, all 3 grew from
last in the state, to number one.
1988 - 1994 Sales Development Manager
CO- Managed a Sales Territory consisting of 12 Sales Managers and 250 Multi Line
s Sales Agents. This territory was responsible for over $600 million in premium
.
Duties and responsibilities for the above position consisted of managing sales a
ccountabilities, recruiting, hiring, training of multi line agents and sales man
agers. I was also responsible for developing and introducing an Agency Developm
ent Process for our local sales force. This process was later introduced throug
hout Allstate Insurance Company.
1994 - 1997 Life Agency Manager for the State of Florida
Duties and responsibilities for the Life Agency Manager (LAM) position consisted
of recruiting, hiring, training of Life Insurance Agents. Managing agent turn
over, expense ratios and production. Managed Agents, Life Specialists and Agenc
y Managers partnerships.
The Florida Life Specialist operation was the largest Life Specialist program in
Allstate. Over those three years, I was the top LAM in the country. We increa
sed new life sales by over 30% each year. My agency was responsible for over $2
50 million in new and renewal premium.
1997 - 1998 Vice President of Sales
American International Group - Vice President in charge of Agency Operations in
the Republic of Korea.
Duties and Responsibilities for the above position consisted of production requi
rements in all personal lines, recruiting agents, developing a management traini
ng process, developing an alternative Distribution Process (Direct Marketing).
Managed loss and expense ratios and introduced Agency Development and Process Ma
nagement into this market, which is still being used as a management tool.
1998 - 2005 Vice President of Sales
I Returned to Allstate Insurance Company as Vice President of Sales for Deerbroo
k Insurance Company and Allstate Workplace Division. Both are subsidies of Alls
tate.
Duties and Responsibilities consisted of managing, hiring, training, managing tu
rnover, expense ratios, loss ratios and production. Responsible for entire coun
try (all 50 states)
2005 - 2009 Vice President of Sales - Direct General Corp/Insurance
Duties and Responsibilities consisted of Managing 14 Southeastern states in the
area of Non Standard Auto Insurance. Responsible for managing, recruiting, hiri
ng training over 1500 sales agents.
Currently - Owner of JL SL Hardy Inc, Insurance Consultants
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I feel one of my best accomplishments is my ability to work with people and get
the most out of them through motivation.
I have participated in 14 different Leadership courses. I have trained over 1,0
00 people in the area of Leadership.
I helped design a program called Agency Development that Allstate adopted and cu
rrently uses country wide.
Agent Award Program: Achieved Honor Ring and National Champions
Sales Management: Achieved Key Manger Award each year of my Management career.
