CMh2Hill - Lead Controls Engineer Nevada Power - Mark VI Configuration
Worked on a two on one combine cycle project comprised of two G.E. frame 7F/A un
its on a 11 Steamer using Nooter Erickson HRSG. The DCS Control System was Ovati
on. The Turbine controls on the project were of G.E. Mark VI. Designed and imple
mented the logic for the turbine interface. Rewrote and corrected all control na
rratives for the project. Corrected and wrote all system descriptions for mechan
ical process and wrote and helped develop the steam blow procedure, spec and dra
wings for this project. (Programmed in Ovation)
AEP - LEAD I&E Engineer Ovation Configuration
Was a Project lead for FGD the three projects. They were of an Alstom design uti
lizing an Ovation Control System. As an Ovation System Design Engineer I was res
ponsible for design and implementation of all logic graphics and design, includi
ng materials and control devices, purchasing and integration of all BOP PLC and
instrumentation. Served as an I and E owners rep/engineer for the last 2/3 of t
hese projects. Responsible for the coordination of drawings and technical issues
between the field customer, vendors, and AEP. Designed for interfaces between a
n Ovation and an Allan Bradley PLC based Diamond Power Soot Blower, Water Cannon
Clean system Project lead I and E engineer for a limestone material handling sy
stem. The design was a FMC belt system, part of an overall Ovation Control syste
m. Designed and updated Burner Management System for three existing coal plant.
Integrating it with a existing Ovation Control System utilizing a Matrikon OPC i
nterface between the BMS and Control System
MCA - System Design Engineer Mark VI Configuration
System Design Engineer responsible for the design and implementation of all logi
c and graphics. Recommissioning of a Alstom 23 unit responsible of all turbin
e systems and all balance of plant and all systems.The design and integration
for the DCS and PLC for Turbine Control System and BOP including all instrumenta
tion for six the projects. There were Mark V & VI Controls System and BOP Wood G
roup system on a 90/70/30 System. Provided tech support for plant and outages he
lping for all units. The plant consisted of TXP/Cimadyne for turbine control, on
e Alstom unit utilizing Alstom Advantage and an ABB/Bailey INFI 90 for DCS. Res
ponsible for troubleshooting, installation and conversion of a Delta V 7.2 turbi
ne control system for a LM 6000 Gas turbine. Lead startup controls engineer on a
plant being brought out of lay-up. The plant consisted of 6 LM 6000 with HRSG,
two GE Steam turbines and one simple cycle Frame 7 EA. The controls were for thr
ee LM 6000 utilizing Mark VI and three Mark V. The Steamers were Mark V and the
EA 's was Mark VI. The BOP was a Fanuc system Assisted in Factory Acceptance Te
sts, field verifying and implementing field changes on drawing and P&IDs and upd
ating all plant and field drawings and rewrote the controls narrative. Responsib
le for the function tests and loop checks for all points in control system
BTech - MarkV and 90/30and70 PLC Configuration
Control engineer/designer to on three Frame 5 units and two Frame 7 E/A units pr
ovided to Fluor for power generation. The two Frame 7`s were configured using Ma
rk VI, conducted all loop checks and function system activities including design
reviews, packaging of controls work, implementing the I/O list and writing of c
ontrols narrative, and technical support to field construction forces. I estimat
ed the replacement of three V94 units with four Frame 7EA units and the cost of
a complete overhaul and upgrade of the existing units.
BTech - MarkV and 90/30and70 PLC Configuration
Assisted in the field factory acceptance tests, field verifying and implementing
field changes on drawings and P&IDs and updated all plant and field drawings. H
aving the responsible for functional tests and loop checks and tuning for all po
ints in this system this was complete for units being shipped. Six more units we
re overhauled in country all were frame units.
NRV - Delta V Configuration
Worked as a Delta V System Design Engineer responsible for the design and implem
entation of all Delta V issues and design of BOP systems and turbine controls fo
r a combined cycle consisting of one GE Frame FA 7 gas turbine G E Steam Turbine
and HRSG by Alstom-standard BOP for combined cycle The BOP was a Fanuc system A
ssisted in Factory Acceptance Tests, field verifying and implementing field chan
ges on drawing and P&IDs and updating all plant and field drawings and rewrote t
he controls narrative. Having the completed the function tests and loop checks f
or all points in this system.
Harris Group - Delta V Configuration-
Work As a Delta V System Design Engineer Responsible for Design and implementati
on of all Delta V issues and design of BOP systems. including scope, schedule, p

Work with Siemen's Engineers and plant personnel on project to up grade DCS syst
em and to help bring I&C shop up to Grade.Plant Consisted of Two Siemens V94 Gas
turbines and one Siemens Steam Generator Configured as two on one. Responsible
for troubleshooting, installation and conversion of TXP turbine control system f
or the Siemens V94C Gas turbine. Logic Review was done before project with DCS p

Bradley SLC 500 and Gray Hill for BOP. The unites where Pratt Whitney Twin Pac

Micro Net System on Six G.E. 6000 units including Start up and run in of the six

type LM2500, 6000 Frame 5 and 7, and 7FA/E simple cycle, and combine cycle gas t
urbines. Worked with GE Mark IV, V, and VI controls. Fluent in computer progra
ms by GE Fanuc, Cimplicity and HMI. Responsible for troubleshooting, installati
on and conversions of Bentley Nevada 2000, Threw 3500 units, Generator Excitatio
n 2000 & 2100 Analog and Digital units. Worked on eight start-ups consisting of
twenty units, where 15xGE 7FA turbines and 4xGE tuning and remote tuning, Bentle
y Nevada upgrades, and Gen Excitation 2000 and 2100. Frame 7EA turbines Worked
implementation of Mark VI for one Nuovo Pionone Unit Worked on project consistin
g of Three L.M. 6000 using PLC 90/70 and Woodward Micro net control panel start-

the Bentley Nevada 3500 also had an Excitation System. . Added a Bentley Nevada
3500 System to an in service unit in Portland OR and supervised and hired the el
ectrical contractor. Did startup on three frame 7FA's in Mississippi Did three s
team turbine using Mark V for a coal plant. in Dallas TX The project had Mark V
controls and Bentley Nevada 3500 and an Excitation System. Conducted setup on al
l loop and function system checkouts Added new six part curve and retuned three
Frame Six units for Texaco. Modification made to two units and one startup on Fr
ame FA7 unit in Fort Morgan CO. Startup on Six frames 7FA in Nigeria and South A
fricia for BP. And many more projects too many to list here. Start up on four f
rame 5 using Mark V in Venezuela On many projects was the Excitation Engineer. W
orked as a as a remote dynamic tuner For 18 Months.
NEPCO - Startup Engineer PLC and DCS Controls consisted of Allen Bradley PLC 5 a
nd SLC500, Fisher Controls, GE Mark V and Mark VI, Honeywell, L&N, Siemens Westi
nghouse and Woodward driver systems. Performed Low, Medium, and High voltage, C
athodic Protection Relay and transformer testing. Also performed takeoffs to in
itiate and track field purchase materials for electrical and instrumentation com
modities, print certification and field changes to prints. In charge of maintai
ning and tracking material and person-hours for the budget. Worked as a Server
Administrator on three jobs. As an Assistant Electrical Commissioning Engineer o
n start-up of a combined cycle power plant, verifying electrical system, equipme
nt, and loads. Performed relay system function tests, switchgear tests and plan
t interlock test Installed two Bailey INFI 90 DCS systems as I & C Technician.
Performed upgrade to one Bailey INFI 90 as control engineer. As startup engineer
