J.C. Powell is a multimedia specialist with 25 years of experience. He integrat

EXPERIENCE:
Roche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley, New Jersey contracted J.C. Powell full-time for
almost 20 years. He was a member of the photographic imaging team that fulfill
ed a wide range of practical and unique needs for corporate publications, global
press releases, websites, sales events, product launches, and employee entertai
nment. J.C. managed client relationships for high level corporate functions, pr
epared presentations to industry regulatory agencies, produced annual financial
reports, and supported national conventions with ASCO, ARC, ACR and NACDS. He w
as the first point of contact for pharmaceutical sales training initiatives, sup
plying critical rollout materials, sales aids and product training guides. For
10 years prior to that, J.C. photographed people, architecture, industry setting
s, nature and other scenes for firms in the tri-state area such as Color Scan, B
iggs Photography, Arcadia Group, George Wurster Productions, and several fashion
catalogues.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
* Ensured a smooth transition of cataloguing CD and DVD systems when Roche and G
enentech merged in 2008-2009. Continued to track materials and control a $1.5 m
illion budget for promotional materials used by global brand teams.
* Partnered with the media design group and outside vendors to produce graphics
for evolving corporate identity guidelines.
* Saved ~$50,000 for Roche in 2008 by recommending, designing, and creating CDs
of the employee benefits handbook to replace paper copies printed by a third par
ty. Worked with the Corporate Benefits Department and the Design Teams to produ
ce and distribute the CDs to more than 8,000 North American employees.
* Collaborated with Roche Diagnostics colleagues in 2002 to develop and design t
heir website for a new product warehousing order system and enhanced it with dra
matic photographic images.
* Published a collection of photographs of specimen progress in cancer research
in The New England Journal of Medicine after a two-year collaborative effort wit
h Roche scientists.
* Published a series of photographs taken of mice used in obesity studies during
a two-year period; they appeared in the February 1997 issue of Science Magazine
.
