Competition Conditions of Entry
1. Rules: The Hot Shot Grand Slam competitions will be conducted in accordance with the Northern Beaches Hot
Shots Committee. The Competition committee shall have the entire control and management of the events and their
decision in any dispute shall be final.
2. Tennis NSW & Hot Shots Membership: All players must be registered with Tennis NSW or can pay for membership
by using the form available on www.tennisnsw.com.au. These competitions are for registered hot shots players only &
i.e. if a player is not registered with the program their entry will not be accepted. This event is an exclusive and closed
competition for hot shot clubs on the Northern Beaches and any entries from out of the region will not be accepted.
3. Entry Fees: Must accompany all entries by the closing date. Entries will not be accepted without fees.
4. Events: Players may enter 1 singles and 1 doubles event only. Players entering doubles events may play with
a boy or girl partner.
5. Age Eligibility: is as follows. Entries are open to players who are of or under the age for their respective events

at midnight 31 January, 2011. Players may enter a higher age group if they wish, however if they have earned
points from a different aged event, their points will not carry over into the other aged events. If a player turns 13 after

the 31 of January 2011 they are allowed to compete in this year’s other hot shots grand slam events.
6. Seedings and Player Ability: I. The competition organiser will determine seedings based on previous events.

ii. To compete in the red events players can serve the 1 and 2 ball of each point over arm or under arm but have to
rd
serve to the correct box. The 3 serve of each point must be underarm (drop serve) but can hit to either box to start the
rally. All players must also have had at least a term of the hot shots competition program to enter.
iii. Organisers/supervisors may assist in the scoring of all matches.
iv. To compete in the 10/U orange events players must be able to serve the ball over arm. If players double fault

they are allowed to do a forehand (drop serve) to start the point on the 3 attempt. If they fault again then the point is
awarded to the receiver.
v) Players entering all other events must be able to serve over arm and will only have the one service fault.
7. Matches: i. All events will be a round robin format. Quarter Finals will be played for each event.

ii) All red and orange formats will be scored 1 to 7 points (1 tie-breaker and sudden death at 6 points all) in the round
robin stage, quarter finals, and semi finals. All finals for these formats will be best of 3 tie-breakers.

All Green formats will be scored 1 to 10 points (super tie-breakers) in the round robin stage.

All finals will be best of 3 tie-breakers (1 to 7 points).
*Please note due to inclement weather or unforseen circumstances matches maybe reduced in length.
8. Withdrawals: Players who withdraw or don’t show up at the event will forfeit their entry fee unless a medical
certificate is provided.
9. Attire: Correct Tennis attire must be worn in all events. Players are encouraged to wear their hot shots shirts at the
event but it is not compulsory.
10. Umpiring: Any player may be required to umpire at the direction of the organisers of the event.
11. Be Ready To Play: i. All players should turn up ready to play and be signed in 20mins prior to the event starting.
ii. Players should have a hat, sunscreen and appropriate clothing to perform physical activity.
iii. In case of inclement weather, activities will be conducted. If play has not commenced after an hour of starting a
decision will be made whether the event will be postponed.
12. Privacy Statement: Your Personal information will only be used in accordance with the purposes of Tennis
Australia and Tennis Hot Shots Northern Beaches.
13. Publicity Statement: I. Photographs and results maybe used to promote the events for publicity purposes, without
compensation. Ii. Please inform the Hot Shots Event organiser before the matches commence if you do not want your
child’s photo published.
14. Adjustments I) The organisers of the event reserve the right to reduce, or re-schedule any matches due to
extenuating circumstances. Ii) In case of inclement weather, the event will be replayed (date will be confirmed).
*Please note that these events are a fun participation competition for kids and any child or parent that behaves
inappropriately might be asked to leave the event and may be unable to participate in any other of the events.

 Northern Beaches Hot Shots Grand Slam Points Race 2011

The 2011 Northern Beaches Hot Shots Wimbledon Open is a part of the Northern Beaches Hot Shots
Grand Slam Series. At each of these events players can earn points for entering, winning matches in
their round robin pools, and for reaching the finals. These points are tallied up after each event and
added to each players overall total with the top 8 players from each format after the US Open being
invited to the Northern Beaches Hot Shots Masters competition in December. At this event players
have the chance to finish no.1 in their format.

Entry to Event = 10 points

Round Robin Match win = 5 points
Qtr Final = 25 points
Semi Finals = 50 points
Runner-up = 75 points
Winner = 100 points
