WORK EXPERIENCE Unit Victim Advocate Spearhead the Battalion Sexually Assaults Program as the Primary Victim Advocate for over 600 Permanent party and Initial Entry Soldiers with a 95% Assaults dec rease. Resulting, the Battalion was noted as the de facto the standard for 15th Signal Brigade. Tracked, at a minimum, what subordinate units require UVAs and deployable SARCs, a roster of those UVAs and deployable SARCs, status of their training, and rota tion dates (i.e., PCS and ETS). Published a monthly on-call roster for all Victim Advocates assigned to the inst allation.. Conduct senior leader training at installation level to increase awar eness of sexual assault issues, high-risk behavior, and victim assistance progra ms (e.g., off post rape crisis centers). Receive annual training on sexual assault subjects (e.g. , crisis intervention and response to sexual assault) focused on enhancing the installation's Sexual Assau lt Prevention and Response Program. Evaluate the effectiveness of prevention programs and advocacy services (e.g., how the response team functions, how the victim feels about the system response and treatment received, risk factor identification evidenced in the database). Contacted unit commanders to obtain information on military member, to obtain as sistance and support in arranging for military member to meet with state or loca l personnel. Through initial interview, identifies problems and needs and recomm ends referral for professional assistance. Observes and notes behavior and modes of response during initial interview or during counseling. Conferred with medic al staff and state representatives to interchange facts and to identify need for protective services. Maintained a cooperative working relationship with all act ion agencies to include: Office of Community Services, Social Work Service, Mili tary Police, CID, and Unit Commanders. Maintained adequate records for accountab ility and quality assurance. Assisted with measured designed to determine program effectiveness. Assisted in the conducting specific activities of the Community education progra m such as Child Abuse Prevention Month (April), Sexual Assault Awareness Month ( April) and Domestic Violence Prevention Month (October). Conducted unit briefing s on installation policies, dynamics of spouse abuse, availability of treatment services, procedural requirements for handling both on and off post spouse abuse cases, state laws, and other pertinent information about family violence. Prepa red and conducts specific briefings for basic and advanced leadership and develo pment courses for both commissioned and noncommissioned officers. Training Instructor (Electronics - 94F) Instructed the theory, operation, function, troubleshooting procedures, checks and adjustments, maintenance and repair of electronics systems and components re paired by Ordnance electronic maintenance occupations, keeping abreast of contin uing state of the art changes in system software programs and hardware modificat ions that affected technical aspects of course material. Used prescribed texts, student outlines, advance sheets, worksheets, technical a nd field manuals schematics, logic diagrams, and miscellaneous publications in p reparation and conducted the instruction.
