y and Microsoft needed a partner that its customers would trust to hold their in
formation.
* Took charge of a faltering business in online PC backup suffering from poor so
ftware quality, unpredictable engineering performance, and massive customer diss
atisfaction. Led the business through many releases with practically no customer
defection, re-established a growing sales trend, and achieved an on-time releas
e concurrently with the introduction of Windows 7.
* Directed a product management team, managed a $100M+ portfolio including Conne
cted online PC backup and LiveVault online server backup, and set strategy and r
oadmaps in an intensely competitive market. Created a disruptive pricing strateg
y for online server backup that re-established a competitive position, shortened
the sales cycle from 60 to 38 days, and doubled the bookings rate.
* Championed technology and partner relationships to bring innovation and market

for IP and 3G mobile networks. Established the technology partnerships necessary
to construct the Vision Media Servers and closed first business with Ericsson a
nd Intervoice.
* Co-managed a telecom equipment product line with >$80M annual sales. Products
were massively parallel signal processing hardware with extensive software devel
opment kits, supporting a full range of telecom and IP protocols with advanced v
oice and video algorithms. Created analyses of financial performance and generat
ed ROI results per product. Wrote market and product requirements, and establish
ed pricing. Extensive conference presentations, analyst relations, and publicati

* Invented TouchSurface technology - the first touchpad technology to use a mous
