safety score of our workforce had improved from a minus 30 to an average of 97
or higher. This was accomplished by changing unsafe behavior through STOP for S
afety training.
* Product quality to increase customer satisfaction and decrease the number of r
eturns and scrap costs. Since 2001 scrap percentages that were as high as 20 %
in aftermarket disc brakes have decreased to less than 4 %. This was accomplish
ed through continuous development of good work habits and accountability.
* Productivity has grown from 2001 from not being able to meet a daily goal of 4
0K pieces per day to meeting or exceeding 270K pieces per day. The facility is
now one of the largest and most profitable in Federal Mogul.
