Introduction

The miracles mentioned in this book are true and from reliable sources.

We bring them in an abridged story style to be more attractive to the children and to be understood
well and memorized well.

Each story we mention is found in the primary source of Islamic history: The Beggining and the End by
Ibn Kathir Al-Dimashki, volume six (Al-Bidaya wan-Nihaya).

There are many miracles in the Qur’an and these are related to events in the life of the Rasulullah .
These will be mentioned as miracles of the Qur’an. This book is to mention miracles that occurred to
Rasulullah as an honorable individual.

3
Preface

We may mention one thousand miracles of the Messenger of Allah . With every event there are many
miracles. We would like this book to be simple.

Rasulullah was supported by the utmost miracle, the Holy Qur’an. The miracles in this book are
attributed to authentic narrators. The miracles that happened to Rasulullah were not the main
source of proof for bringing Islam. Islam came with science and logic.

But these miracles were to strengthen the faith of the believers. Previous prophets were provided
miracles to match the skill of their people. In the time of Rasulullah , the skill of the people is
literature. So, the revelation was the best literature ever, the Holy Qur’an.

And every miracle happened by the permission of Allah Almighty and Magestic. This mainly happened
with dua and bismillah.

4
Al-Wahi or Revelation

He was alone up at the top of the mountain. The little cave does not fit more than two people. He
Wondered about God, life, the hereafter, people. For twelve years, he visited the cave a month, a
week, or a day at a time.

One day he was sleeping and he saw a great dream. A powerful, great, and very handsome man entered
his cave. He sat in front of him, instilling him with fear. “Read!”

Now you know the story well. This is actually the first miracle. It was not only a dream. When he woke
up, he saw the same man, saying to him, “Read!” He replied, “I cannot read.” And the man squeezed
him hard. Then he said to him, “Read!” “I cannot read,” he replied. The man squeezed him again and
again and again until the Prophet thought he might die; and he said, “What shall I read?!?”

<< “Read in the name of your Lord who created! Created man from a clinging clot - read and your Lord
is most Bountiful - taught man with the pen, taught man what he did not know. “ >>

Then the man disappeared. The Prophet went out of the cave to look for him. To his surprise, he
saw him as a humungous giant, his head at the top of the sky, his foot on the horizon, with six hundred
wings covering his entire view. He immediately turned his face away, but saw him in every direction.
He fainted from this vision.

When he awoke, he was scared to look. Then he heard a thunderous sound, “Ya Muhammad,
anta rasulullah wa anna Gibrail.” He looked up and saw the same man sitting on a glorious chair
between the heavens and the earth, repeating, “Ya Muhammad, anta rasulullah wa anna Gibrail – Oh
Muhammad, you are the Messenger of Allah and I am Girbrail.”

That was the first miracle of the Messenger of Allah . It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari and other
Hadith.

5
On His Way Home

The prophet returned from the mountain. On his way home he heard a greeting, “Assalumalikum, Ya
Muhammad, Assalumalikum, Ya Muhammad, Assalumalikum, Ya Muhammad”. No one was around.
He looked right and left. Not another human being was there. He looked again and again and
realized that the speaker was a rock!

6
He Went Home Full of Fear

He went home full of fear and fatigue. “Cover me with a blanket and more blankets, my wife.”
When he was about to rest, Gibrail came to him again, saying

<< “Oh the one who wraps himself with the blanket. Stand and start the night prayer.” >>

He recited what he heard. His wife was astonished, “What happened?”

When he explained, Khadijah brought him immediately the best scholar. They told him all they heard
and saw. He said, “This one is the leader of the angels. He is the one who came to Moses, to Jesus, and
to all the prophets before. I hope I am still young enough to support you and help you when your
people expel you from Makkah.” “Will I be expelled?” asked the Prophet . “Yes. Anyone who brings
to his people what you are saying will be opposed and resisted and expelled from his home.”

And what the scholar mentioned is exactly what happened.

Khadijah said, “Allah will not leave you alone. You are a good man. I swear by Allah that I expected
you are his messenger. I heard may marvels about you . Listen to these:

“Even before you were born your grandfather saw a chain of silver from his spine to the heavens.
The interpretation was that a prophet from his descendents will lead from the east to the west. And
that happened.

“And even your mother, who was my friend, she said, ‘I saw a distinguished light emitting from my
pelvis, shining on the palaces of the Roman Ceasar and the Persian Shah.’ The interpretation was that
the kingdom of her child would cover the Roman and Persian empires. And that happened.

7
“Halimah, your suckling-mother, after she took you to the desert she became the friend of everyone
in Makkah. She told us many miracles about you even when you were in the cradle. She said her
donkey was the weakest and always reached its destination last. When she carried you , her donkey
became the fastest. And moreover, lambs and goats that almost never produced milk were flooding and
dropping milk without milking. And above all this, none compared to the one major event...”

And the best narrator for this event is the Messenger of Allah himself. He said, “When I was
little, playing, running with my suckling-brothers, I saw three angels in the shape of men flying over me.
Then they landed just in front of me. They laid me down speaking in hush voices saying, ‘Is he the one?
Yes.’ Then one of them started to cut my chest open. One of my brothers screamed and ran to his
mom. I did not feel any pain. After they cut, they took out my heart and dipped it in a golden tray full of
snow. Then they took a black spot away from the heart. They then returned my heart to its place with
some recitation and then closed my chest. I was well aware of what they were doing. My mother came
screaming, ‘My valuable son, they slaughtered you!’, and picked me up from the floor while my hands
were still in the hands of the angels. I looked at her once and looked at the angels. I realized she did not
see them. She held me, kissed me, and I looked at her and looked at them until they were gone.

Children circulated rumors of that event. A Jewish scholar became astonished. He came from the other
side of the region. He held me, verified the story, and inspected my body. His hand touched my head,
my shoulder, and my upper back, searching for the ring of the Prophethood. Then he cried out, ‘Kill this
boy and kill me with him!’ My suckling-mother snatched me from his hand. She screamed at him, ‘Go
and find someone to kill you but don’t touch my son.’ Then she returned me back to Makkah ahead of
the appointed time.”

8
Childhood

And that was not the only story the Messenger of Allah told about his childhood. He said, “Allah
protected me since I was a child and did not allow anybody to look at my private parts. Even when I
was born, I was cast into sujood, head up. And I was born circumcised. And I was alive while Adam was
between mud and water. And even the balconies and the canopies of Persia and Rome fell, in reality or
in a dream; and their owners heard the interpretation that their kingdom would not last for a number of
years equal to the number of balconies. And this happened.

“When I was little I was the mediator between my people and Allah. My grandfather, during a drought,
used to carry me into an open field along with the people of Makkah, saying, ‘With this white little
creature, we are seeking the rain to come down, oh Allah.’ And they were answered every time.” And
the messenger of Allah later recalled this event in Medinah in front of the early muhajirin saying,
“Who would like to remind us of the poetry Abdu Mutallib used to say when they had a drought, seeking
rain. Al-Abbas said, ‘I will,’ and he went on saying, ‘With this white little creature , we are seeking the
rain to come down, oh Allah….’”

And the Messenger of Allah recounted, “And when I grew little enough to play with children, we
were building stone houses. Each one put stones on his shirt and lifted it up, at the same time exposing
his private parts. I lifted the stones in my arms. I could not carry as many stones in this way, so I tried to
fill my shirt as the others. Just as I was about to stand up, I felt a thump on my back, preventing me
from standing and preventing me from exposing myself.

“Then when I grew up a little more, Allah made me busy to care for the sheep, as every prophet has
done. Allah made me busy away from sin, vain talk, and the company of wrongdoing. I took care of the
sheep even throughout the night. One night, I asked a friend and his companion to watch my sheep that
I might go to a party in the city. I arrived as the party was being prepared. Just when the party started,
I fell asleep, by the grace of Allah. I awoke the next morning by the heat of the sun.”

9
Youth

He said, “Miraculously, I was the first one to enter the Kabah when the people were arguing about
who is to return the black stone. I was the one who calmed down the fight and the first one who
appeared according to their judgment.

“The first time I journeyed to Sham, many marvels occurred. Along with my grandfather I was
accompanied by a cloud, shading me all the time. And that notified the monk of that area to come
down and ask for the prophet of the time. After he asked my grandfather a few questions, he sought
permission to see the seal of the prophet. He was stunned. He said, ‘Do not take him far. Protect him
well. If he is seen by the Jews and others, he would be killed.’ My grandfather said that was not the first
time he heard something like this. That monk is Bahirah. I remember he hugged me close, he kissed
me, cried, and said, ‘I hope one day to support you.’ And Ceasar, as well, said, ‘If I am in his
neighborhood, I would come and wash his feet.’

“When I returned to Makkah, out of the grace of Allah, I loved seclusion. For many days, food and drink
used to be around me without effort from me.” Later he said the same to his companions when he
noticed them fasting several days in a row. They said, “You did the same, oh Messenger of Allah .”
He replied, “I am not the same as you. Allah used to provide me food and water in the night.”

10
In Makkah

When he became a prophet, miracles and marvels came with him almost every day. Some were
visible to everyone, others were invisible.

In his early prophethood, Rasulullah was with Abu Bakr in the open desert. They stopped by a short
shepherd. Then Rasulullah said, “Bring me an immature lamb.” And he put his hand on the
undeveloped udder. Then the short shepherd said, “Don’t you know there is no milk in this animal?”
Then Rasulullah smiled and said “Bismillah”. And immediately the milk flowed and it was plenty for
the three of them. The shepherd said, “Teach me about this magic.” “What you will embrace soon is
greater than this miracle.” The next day that shepherd accepted Islam. That shepherd’s name was Ibn
Masood, may Allah be pleased with him.

He was making sujud in the Kabah. Abu Jahal said he will kill him no matter what. He picked up a
big rock and come to smash his head in sujud. When he came close, he walked backward and the
rock almost fell on him. He returned to his people, shaking and scared. ‘What is wrong?’ they asked.
He said, ‘I saw a big huge giant camel waiting to eat me if I went forward one step.’ ‘What is this?’
they said. ‘I swear I never saw a creature like this before.’

The Messenger of Allah was sitting with Abu Bakr Siddiq in al-hatiim, the half-circle. Abu Lahab’s wife
came with a rock in her hand. Abu Bakr Siddiq said, “Oh Messenger of Allah , look at this she-devil.
She may hurt you .” He said, “Don’t worry, Abu Bakr, she will not see me.” She came close and
she said, “Oh Abu Bakr, where is your friend? I swear if I see him I will smash him with this rock.” Abu
Bakr was looking at her and at the Messenger of Allah . Then she left. Abu Bakr said, “How is it she
did not see you ?” He said, “Gibrail covered me with the tip of his wing until she left.”

They gathered around the Messenger of Allah and said, “Every prophet has a physical miracle with
him: the stick of Moses and so. What do you have?” He said, “The Qur’an.” They said, “Split the
moon!” He looked at the moon and pointed his hand, “Bismillah.” And the moon split in two pieces,
each one at the top of two mountains. And the Qur’an mentions this.

11
When the people of Makkah did not respond to him well, he went to Taif to call his people. He
was rejected and made fun of and moreover he was stoned. They pushed him away from the city.
When he sat to rest, two miracles happened. A servant named Adas brought some grapes to
Rasulullah . Then Rasulullah said “Bismillah.” Adas said, “This phrase is not used by the people of
this region.” So he asked him, “Where are you from?” He replied, “I am from Ninawa.”
Rasulullah said, “That is the city of the righteous servant of Allah, Jonah, the companion of the
whale.” “How do you know about Jonah? I left home and only a few people know about him.” “He is a
prophet like me .” The man immediately accepted Islam. Later, he became a good Muslim.

The second event was when the jinn came to him and they learned to read Qur’an from him . He
communicated with them openly. It was as if, though the people of Makkah and Taif would not listen to
you, here you go, the jinn are you followers. Later in Medinah one of the rebellious devil jinn tried to
whisper to Rasulullah in the night. Then Rasulullah caught him and tied him up in the masjid. In
the morning, he said, “If not for the dua’ of my brother Suleiman (that he would be the only one to
possess the jinn), I would keep him and let the kids of Medinah see him and taunt him.”

***

The sahabah named Ibn Umar said, “I went with Rasulullah for short trip in Makkah. Whenever he
passed by a tree, a stone, or rock, they would say, ‘Assalumalikum alalika ya Rasulullah.’”

12
Isra and Miraj

And the miracle we will speak of now has more than 100 miracles…

One morning around dawn my ceiling split open and two angels and Gibrail came and sat next to me.
One of them split my chest. The other carried a tray full of snow from Junnah or from Zam Zam. They
washed my heart and returned it back. I felt very light like there was no gravity. They said, “You will go
with us.” This story is long and many details are known by most Muslims. We would like to mention
just a few of them: traveling to Jerusalem, and coming back in the same night which, by itself was a
marvelous event. Going up to the Highest Heaven and returning back in the same night was a much
bigger event. He describes to us more than 100 scenes that can only be seen miraculously: seeing
the prophets, greeting them and communicating with them, even Moses realized Rasulullah got
higher than him and became angry, seeing the people of Junnah and the people of Hell, seeing the
believers rewarded and the disbelievers punished, seeing the value of each action of his Ummah, and
moreover, going beyond the point which Gibrail was allowed to pass, and reaching sidrat ul
muntahar, the lote-tree at the farthest end of the seven heavens beyond which none can cross and
near to it junatulma’waa, the rest-house of paradise. He Rasulullah got closer and closer until he
became closer than anyone before to Allah Almighty and Majestic. Attahiiatu wa salaawaatu
wattaiibatu, greetings and salutations to Allah the Almighty and Majestic was the beginning of the
conversation. And the reply from Allah was Assalamu alaika warahmatullahi wa barakatahu, peace be
upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessing.

Then Salah was ordained. On his way back Moses interfered with him in the matter of 50 salah; he
ordered Rasulullah to go back and forth nine times to reduce the salah. And when Rasulullah
returned to Al-Qudus, he led the prayer of all prophets and messengers to indicate his highest level.
He came back to Makkah and told the people what happened. Abu Jahal gathered everybody,
thinking this a great chance to put him down, to belie him, or at least to convince people he is lying. He
said, “Tell these poeple what you have told me.” Rasulullah said, “Last night I went to Jeruslamem
and to the top of heaven and back.” Some laughed, others clapped hands, others whistled and oh-ed.
And Rasulullah said, “You must believe me. I saw in my return, your caravan coming, and it will reach
today by sunset. And one of its camels was lost and they were searching for it; then I shouted at the
caravan driver the location of the lost camel.” Miraculously, the caravan came at the same time and the
driver said, yes, I found the camel and I heard the sound from above, the location of the lost camel.

13
They said, “We know that you have not been to Jerusalem. So can you describe the Masjid al-Aqsa?”
Rasulullah did not pay attention to the Masjid and he realized that they almost won the questioning
and it was too much for him. Then miraculously Allah the Almighty and Majestic showed him the
Masjid Al-Aqsa completely in view. “What shall I describe?” “What color, how many windows, the
doors, the tiles…” He was looking at the view in front of him, describing what he saw. Those who
had visited the place said yes, yes, it is as he says.

This is a summary. When you go to the seerah and Hadith and Qur’an, you will find many many more
miracles.

14
To Medinah

Even when he migrated to Medinah, miracles surrounded him all the time. Even when forty strong
men surrounded his house to kill him , miraculously, all forty fell asleep. The Messenger of Allah
walked through them, putting dust on their heads. All Rasulullah did was read Surah Ya-Siin.

And when Abu Bakr went before Rasulullah , he tore pieces of his clothes to block all the holes in the
cave. One little hole remained after he ran out of clothes. He blocked the hole with his heel. A snake
bit him and he cried. The tears fell on the face of Rasulullah , who lay napping in the lap of Abu Bakr.
Then Rasulullah woke up and asked Abu Bakr what was wrong. When he discovered the truth, he
took some of his saliva and healed Abu Bakr’s wound, and stopped the poison.

Spider, as well, protected the Messenger of Allah . He was in the cave and a number of knights
charged to kill him. When they came close, they saw a spider web, built to protect him . They said,
“No one can be in this cave, otherwise the web would have been broken here.”

When he left the cave along with Abu Bakr, a hundred camels was the price for their heads.
Bedouins and horsemen were searching for them all over and around Makkah and along the way to
Medinah. Suraqa, one of the Bedouins, heard about them. He was looking for them carefully and
spotted them. His friend had mentioned that he saw three travelers, and they must be the ones they
sought. Suraqa said, no, they must be their own people. Then he waited for a while, slipped away
unnoticed, jumped on his prepared horse, and carried his poison arrow. When he came close to
Rasulullah and Abu Bakr, Rasulullah saw him but ignored him and Abu Bakr was looking back
frequently. Suraqa came to a killing distance when his horse’s foot sank into the floor and he fell
violently. Despite his injury, he jumped to his horse and drove toward Rasulullah . Again his horse
foot sank into the ground and he fell. This happened three times and he became full of terror and he
realized Rasulullah is fully protected. Finally, shouted, “Peace, a truce!” Rasulullah turned to him
and said, “Suraqa, what do you want?” He said, “Give me security when Arabia will follow you , not to
seek revenge upon me.” So Rasulullah said, “No harm will come.” So he responded, “Hire me to
protect you all the way to Medinah.” “Don’t bother. Just conceal our path,” and before he left
Rasulullah called to him, “Suraqah, what about the day that will come and you will wear the crown
and bracelet of the Persian Emperor?” He was shocked, “Who, me?”

15
And miraculously, 20 years later, when the Persian Emperor was brought to Umar as a captive along
with his treasure, he called Suraqah and dressed him with the crown and bracelet; and this in the rouda
sharifah.

***

And Abu Bakr and Rasulullah had been traveling a long stretch and became thirsty. So Abu Bakr
explained, “I brought milk to Rasulullah . And when Rasulullah drank, my stomach felt
completely satisfied – without drinking a drop.” And this was a common condition of the close
sahabah of the Prophet .

Similarly, Abu Bakr explained, “One day Rasulullah was not feeling well and I visited him and fell ill.
Then Rasulullah got better and visited me and I got better immediately.”

As well, one day Rasulullah visited S’ad Ibn Ubadah who was ill. When Rasulullah reached his
door, he said, “Assalamualikum warhamatullah.” No one responded. Rasulullah repeated the
greeting three times and then left. When Rasulullah was about to go, S’ad appeared and said, “Oh
Rasulullah, I heard your salam three times.” Rasulullah replied, “So why didn’t you answer?” Sad
explained, “After the first salam, my illness was completely gone and felt strong. And I said, ‘I’ll wait
for more blessings.’ After the second salam, I swear by Allah, I saw the light fill up my house, and
forgivness and mercy all around. Then I said, ‘I’ll wait for more.’ After the third salam I felt the
manifestation of the Almighty Allah Azza Wa Jal all around.” May Allah be pleased with all the
sahabah.

And this kind of love caused many of the sahabah, 200 and more, to be satisfied by eating just a few
dates between all of them, from the hand of Rasulullah .

***

On his way to Medinah, Rasulullah passed by a woman in Ummahbad. Her oasis looked like a rest
area. She used to host travelers. She did not know Rasulullah but she welcomed him.

16
Rasulullah asked her for some milk. She said, “I have nothing, it is too dry this year. And the herds
are away.” Rasulullah looked inside her tent and saw a very weak immature lamb, “What is that?”
“A very tiny, sick, immature lamb.” Rasulullah said, “Can I try to milk it?” “It never had milk before
and she is too weak to graze or move.”

Rasulullah touched its back and immediately the udder filled up with milk. Rasulullah milked it
and he drank and he gave to Abu Bakr and he gave to the lady. Then he milked it again and he filled
up two medium sized containers. Then he left.

Her husband came and found the milk, “From where?” She told him the story. He asked her to describe
the visitor. When she described him, he recognized him as Muhammad of Makkah. Soon after, that
lady and her husband accepted Islam because of this miracle.

***

When he arrived in Medinah, tribal leaders held the ring of his camel and nearly fought each other
for the honor of hosting him. Then Rasulullah said, “The camel is ordered. Leave it alone, it will sit
next to the one who will host me.” Miraculously, this she – camel stopped in the rouda sharif.

***

Rasulullah was invited by a sahaba to his garden. He said, “We have a stubborn camel. It looks like it
has rabies.” Then Rasulullah stood and went to it. They said, “Oh Rasulullah , be careful!” He
said, “It will not hurt me.” When the camel saw Rasulullah , it came toward him and knelt down,
lowering its head as though making sujood. Then Rasulullah grabbed its ears and dragged it to its
job. The sahaba were stunned and said, “Insane animals make sujuud to you. Why don’t we make
sujuud to you after this?” Rasulullah , “Human must not make sujuud to any human.”

17
In another narration, Rasulullah said, “Bring me a ring.” Then He tied it to the camel. And Abu
Bakr said, “Oh Rasulullah , it looks like it knows you are a prophet.” He replied, “Every creature
ever in Medinah knows that I am Rasulullah except the human and jinn disbelivers.”

18
The Crying Stump

When the Prophet came to Medinah he leaned on a tree stump and spoke to the people. The people
loved him so much. The women suggested making a pulpit and letting him stand up high. So they
brought a wooden pulpit for the Friday sermon. That day the Prophet spoke until everyone heard a
sad sad weeping. Some say the stump was roaring like a cow or bull, or a cub searching for his mother.
They wondered if a child had been hurt or lost and they looked around. Then they saw the Prophet
step down and walk to the stump where he used to lean. The crying became less and less and he
touched it gently with his hand and spoke with it. He returned to the pulpit and completed his sermon.
He was asked what he said to the stump to stop the crying. He said, “I gave him two choices. ‘I
could return to you, but you would be cut eventually like any tree. Or you could be removed from here
and be my friend in Junnah.’ So it chose to be with me in Junnah.” And this story is mentioned in all
books of seerah and hadith, narrated by a large number of sahabah, and we call it hadith mutawaatir.

Narrators say Jesus was given the gift to raise the dead, while Rasulullah was given the gift that
stumps cried and trees moved for him and as well stones made loud thikr in front of him. Abu Tharr
narrated that he was present when Rasulullah was sitting on his right and Abu Bakr and Umar and
Uthman came. In the hand of Rasulullah were seven or nine pebbles. “Then I heard them saying
tasbeeh and thikr like the swaying palm tree. When He put them down, they stopped. When He
put them in the hand of Abu Bakr, they wept again. He put them down, and they stopped, and when
he put them in the hand of Umar they started again. He put them down, and they stopped, and
when he put them in the hand of Uthman they started again. Then Rasulullah said, ‘This is the
succession of the khaliphate.’” And this is in itself a miracle, and it happened exactly as he
mentioned. And this event is mentioned in several books.

19
In Medinah

The companions invited Rasulullah to dine with them. Um Saliim milked her goat and produced a pail
of cream. Then she hung the cream to dry. She called one of her servants and demanded she take the
pail to Rasulullah . When he received the pail he emptied it and gave thanks to them. She
returned the pail in the same place – then she soon found it full again. She was shocked! She took it
back to Rasulullah and told him the story and he said, “Are you surprised that you tried to feed
Rasulullah and Allah fed you in return? Go back and eat your cream and feed the people.” And she
said, “I swear that pail remained full until the time of Abu Bakr.”

***

Abu Talha, one of the sahaba said to his wife, Um Saliim, “I heard Rasulullah and I realized his voice is
weak from hunger. Do we have anything?” She said, “Yes,” then she put a few pieces of dried barley
bread in a piece of cloth and brought it to Rasulullah . When Rasulullah saw her, he said, “Abu
Talha sent you with the food.” She said, “Yes.” Then he said to his companions, “Let’s go.” She ran
ahead of him to her husband, saying, “Rasulullah is behind me with a large number of people. We
have nothing to feed them.” Abu Talha went out and saw Rasulullah coming. They sat and
Rasulullah said, “Bring what you have of the bread,” and made dua. He said, “Allow ten to come.”
When they were full, he allowed another ten to come and another ten and another ten and there were
eighty people. And there was enough for all of them.

And that happened a few times as well as in the house of Fatimah. Rasulullah came to her house
and asked her what she had to eat. She said she had nothing. Then Rasulullah left. A little while
later, a lady sent her a few pieces of bread. Then she said she would benefit Rasulullah with it
instead of herself. She told Rasulullah to come and have some food. “Where did this food come
from?” He asked. She said, “From Allah.” “Subhanallah, like Maryam.”

***

Um Salama, the wife of Rasulullah , said, “We were traveling and the sahaba heard a strange sound.
To their surprise, they found a gazelle tied up to a tree and a Bedouin sleeping next to it. Then the

20
gazelle said, “Ya Rasulullah , this Bedouin hunted me, while I have babies in that mountain. Would
you please untie me to suckle them? I will come right back.” Rasulullah asked, “Will you really come
right back?” The animal said, “May Allah punish me as those who commit fraud if I do not come back.”
Then He untied it and she ran off. Then she did come back. While Rasulullah was tying her up
again, the Bedouin woke up and said, “May my mother and father be sacrificed for you. I caught her
first. Do you want it, oh Rasulullah ?” “Yes,” he said, and he released the gazelle; and she ran,
saying joyfully, “Ashhadu an lailahaillaha wa anta rasulullah!”

***

A shepherd was grazing his herd. Then a wolf came and took one of the lambs. He chased him and took
the lamb back. Miraculously, the wolf stood on his hind legs and said, “Don’t you fear Allah? How come
you took the sustenance Allah has provided me with?” The shepherd was stunned, “This is strange - a
wolf talking??” Then the wolf said, “Should I tell you something more remarkable than this?” He said,
“Yes.” So the wolf said, “Muhammad , in Yathrib, is a prophet, telling the people what came before
and after.”

The shepherd drove his flock to Medinah and set them by the side of the city. He came to the
Prophet and told him what happened. Then the Prophet called the people together. When they
gathered, Rasulullah called the shepherd and ordered him to tell everyone what happened. Then
Rasulullah said, “I swear by the One in whose hand is my soul, I swear that the day of Resurrection
will not arrive until the lions and the beasts talk with humans and a man will speak with his belt and his
shoe straps. And moreover, the person’s thigh will tell him about what happened elsewhere.”
Miraculously, all these have been seen to happen (lions are taught, rescue animals, man speaks
through the cell phone on his belt, shoes have satellite tracking systems, and microchip technology
communicates from inside the body). The shepherd was a Jew and he accepted Islam.

***

And a bedouin caught a lizard for lunch. Then he saw Rasulullah with a congregation passing by.
When he asked about this group, he heard, “That is Muhammad and his people.” So he came all the
way to Rasulullah and he said, “I swear by Lat and Uzah, you are the most hateful person to me! I
don’t want my people to say I am hasty, otherwise I would kill you and make entire nations rejoice your

end.” Umar bin Al-Khattab asked permission to kill the Bedouin. Rasulullah , “Oh Umar, don’t you
know the one who bears patiently with the people is almost a prophet?” He then he looked at the
man and said, “What is the reason you said other than the truth and refused to respect my company?”
He replied, “So, you talk to me as well? By Lat and Uzah, I will never believe in you, even if this lizard
believes,” and he dropped the lizard to the ground. Then Rasulullah addressed the lizard, and it said,
“Here I am.”

“Who do you worship?” It said, “I worship the One whose throne is in Heaven and the Earth is one of
His kingdom and the Heaven is his mercy and the Hell is his punishment.” “And lizard, who am I ?” It
said, “The Messenger of the Lord of the Universe and the Seal of the Prophets and successful is the
one who believes in you and turned down is the one who belies.”

The Bedouin was stunned, “I came and you were the most hateful to me. Now you are more beloved to
me than my parents and my eyes and myself; I love you inside and out, in public and private. I am
ashhadu an lailahilallah wa ashhadu anna mohmmad arrasulullah . Teach me the Qur’an…”

Jabir Ibn Abdullah was on a trip with Rasulullah . His camel paused stubbornly. Then Rasulullah
asked what was wrong. “He doesn’t move.” Then he approached the camel and tapped it with a
stick. And it jumped and ran and passed all the other camels! Jabir held back the reigns to stop it and
could not. Then Rasulullah asked again about the camel. “Your blessing has touched it.” And
Rasulullah asked, “Will you sell me this camel?” “Yes. How much will you pay?” He offered two
dinar. “No, Then you make me a fool for this.” So he increased the price to ten, to 50, to 100, and
Jabir said, “No, no, no,” until he paid him 1000 dinar. Then Rasulullah said, “May Allah have mercy
on you, Oh Jabir.” The companions said, “Someone who receives such a dua will die soon.” He
brought the camel to Medina and Rasulullah paid him and told him to keep the camel and said, “May
Allah have mercy on you, Oh Jabir.” And this was a great benefit to Jabir’s family. And Jabir died
shortly thereafter.

Two sahaba, Usaid Ibn Hudiar and his friend, were sitting with Rasulullah and receiving his blessings.
When they left they noticed a light at the end of their staffs. When they parted ways, each one saw a
separate light. And this is not the only time this happened. It happened to the famous poet, Atu Fail,
who came to Rasulullah . After he accepted Islam, he asked Rasulullah for a miracle to take to his
people. He said, “Your miracle is with you.” Then he quickly went to his people at night to guide
them. He saw a light in front of him. He looked in the water and in his reflection he saw a light on his
forehead. Returning to Rasulullah he said, “Please make the light on my stick, lest the people say I
am possessed.” “So it will be.” Later that night, his stick lighted his way and he showed this to his
people.

Al Hasan and Al Husein as well were with Rasulullah during Isha prayer, jumping on his shoulders and
back while he made sujuud. Abu Hurairah said, “Let me take them to their mom.” Then a bright light
ignited and Hasan and Husein followed the light all the way to Fatimah’s house.

A blind man came to Rasulullah , so it was narrated by Uthman Ibn Hanif. He said, “Ya Rasulullah ,
make a dua for me for Allah to heal me.” He said, “If you will, I will delay this for you for the
hereafter and it would be better for you.” “No, oh Rasulullah , make it now.” Then Rasulullah
commanded him to make wudu and pray two raka then to say, “Oh Muhammad, I am asking Allah
through you, to fulfill my request and to make you my intercessor.” Then the man stood and walked
away with full sight. At-Tirmthi said this is a hasan narration and As-Suyuki said it is a sahih narration.

On another occasion, a man came to Rasulullah and his eyes were completely white. Rasulullah
asked him what was wrong to which he replied, “A snake bit me and I lost my sight.” Then Rasulullah
blew in his eyes. And when he was eighty years old, we witnessed that man threading the eye of a
needle.

And Qatada was in the battle field. So he was wounded and he lost his eye. He held the eyeball in his
hand and came to Rasulullah . Rasulullah returned the eye directly to its socket. And Qatada
said this eye became much much stronger than the other.

23
As well, the eye of Ali Ibn Abu Talib became dreadfully swollen more than once. Rasulullah spit in his
eye and he again became sighted. Moreover, Ali walked from Makkah to Medina during the time of
Hijrah and his foot was very swollen. Rasulullah read just a few aya upon his feet and they became
strong and firm. And all these stories are true and there are many like these.

***

And an epidemic touched a number of the Ansars in an isolated area of Medinah. A woman came to
Rasulullah screaming and shouting to make a dua to cure the people. Rasulullah made a dua for
them and the people were healed within two or three days. Then one of them came back. She said the
dua of Rasulullah had cured all the people but her and she asked him to make a dua for her. Then
Rasulullah said, “I can make a dua for you, or you can be patient three days and you will meet me
in Junnah.” She said, “No, no, don’t make the dua. I can wait three days to meet you in junnah.”

***

Another tribe invited Rasulullah because their well had dried up. So he visited and sat on the edge
of the well. He mentioned something then he spit in the well. “We saw in our own eyes, the water
started to gather until it flowed out.”

This is to indicate that everything was cooperating with Rasulullah : wells, trees, rocks, animals, even
mountains. Whenever He passed by Mount Uhud, He said, “This is Mount Uhud, we love this
mountain and it loves us.” One day he was on it with Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, then the
mountain shook! Then Rasulullah hit it with his foot and said, “Calm, Uhud! On you is nothing but a
prophet, a siddiq, and two martyrs.” Miraculously, the mountain calmed like a little lamb.

Moreover, a slaughtered lamb informed Rasulullah , saying, “I am poisoned by Jews and so do not
eat me.” And that was true.

***

24
And the story of the woman who asked about Rasulullah’s condition after the battle is this. The people
told her, “Your husband was killed in the battle.” And she asked, “And how is Rasulullah ?” The
people told her, “Your brother was killed in the battle.” And she asked, “And how is Rasulullah ?”
The people told her, “Your son was killed in the battle.” And she asked, “And how is Rasulullah ?”

“Rasulullah is fine,” they said. To which she replied, “Then everything is fine. No calamity would be
worse than what might befall Rasulullah .” And this love for Allah’s Messenger is no less marvelous
than all the miracles we mentioned.

***

And the story of raising the dead by Jesus is well circulated, while there are three events that happened
with Rasulullah more miraculous than this. One is naratted by Anas Ibn Malik. One youth of the
Ansar reached Medinah along with his mother. He became severely ill in Medinah and died. We went
to pray his funeral then his mother came. She sat as his feet and she said, “Oh Allah, I accepted Islam
and I believe in you and I migrated to your Rasul and never have I made any dua to you to relieve my
difficulty. Oh Allah I am asking you to relieve this calamity from me. Then she removed his cover. And
we did not leave until that youth ate with us. And Anas said, “Never would this have happened to
anyone before but it would have been told widely to prove prophethood.”

***

And it was narrated by many others that a woman came with her son who had never spoken a word.
She sat with him in front of Rasulullah . Rasulullah and his companions noted that he was dumb.
His mother was embarrassed and she begged Rasulullah to make dua for him. Rasulullah inclined
his head toward the boy and said, “Bismillah. Who am I?” And the words came,
“Muhammadarasulullah.”

25
The First Battle

The early days in Medinah did not take place without threat. This became the battle of Badr. An army
of 1000 well-equiped soldiers were marching towards the city. Rasulullah went out to meet them.
And he stayed all night long, rasing up his hands, making dua until he received the positive promise of
victory. In the morning, he encouraged the sahabah and got full cooperation from them, and he said,
“Allahoakbar. I swear by Allah that I can see the spot where many of Makkah’s sheriffs will be laid
dead.” The spots he showed to his sahabah were exactly the placed they died to the inch.

Moreover, he was also reciting, “The gathered army will be defeated.” And when they dumped them
into the well, al-qulaib, he spoke with them and taunted them, “I found what Allah promised me is
true; did you find what Allah promised you is true?” Omar, was next to him, “Are you talking with the
dead, oh Rasulullah ?” He replied, “You cannot hear me more than them.” This is a great miracle,
to speak with the dead!

***

And one relative of the dead, Said Ibn Umair Al-Jumahi, was in Makkah. He spoke to Safwan, “If I was
not in debt and taking care of my daughters, I would go now and kill Rasulullah .” Safwan said, “Take
my promise: I’ll pay your debt and I’ll take care of your daughters.” Then he dipped his sword in poison
and gave it to Said, telling him, “Keep this secret and go and kill Muhammad .”

Said went to Medinah. He was caught by Umar Ibn Al-Khattab before he entered. And he was brought
to Rasulullah . When Rasulullah saw him, he smiled and said, “Oh Said, what brought you here?”
“I came to free my son whom you took captive.” Rasulullah asked, “Why is the sword with you?” He
replied, “What a worthless sword that did not benefit us in Badr.” Rasulullah said, “Be truthful to
me.” But he insisted on what he said. Then Rasulullah said to him, miraculously, “Have you not sat
with Safwan, next to the Kabah, and you told him about your debt and your daughters, and he
sponsored you, and poisoned this sword to kill me?” Then he said, “Lailahaillah
Muhammadurasulullah . No one can know this plan except a prophet.”

***

26
In another battle there were heavy rains and everyone took time to dry themselves and rest. Then
Rasulullah was alone and he called the sahaba. When they came they found a Bedouin next to him,
crying, “Lailahillah Muhammadurasulullah .” And Rasulullah said, “Do you know what this man did
to me?” And the companions replied, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

“I awoke from a nap while this man tapped me on the neck with his sword. He said, ‘Who can
protect you from me now?’ I said, ‘Allah.’ Miraculously, within a second, the man was knocked down
and his sword was in my hand and I put it to his neck and said, ‘Who can protect you from me now?’
He said, ‘No one, oh Rasulullah , so be kind, please.’ Then I forgave him and here he is.”

27
Digging the Trench

When Rasulullah was digging the trench along with 3000 sahaba, Jabir noticed the hunger on his
face. He hurried to his wife and said, “What food do we have for the people?” She said, “We have only
this goat.” “So slaughter it and I will invite Rasulullah and a few with him.”

Jabir came to Rasulullah and invited him. Rasulullah commanded someone to announce to all the
people digging the trench that Jabir prepared food for all of them. Jabir said, “Ya Rasulullah , it is one
goat.” He commanded a second time to call everybody around to the food of Jabir. So Rasulullah
went first and everyone went behind him. Jabir ran to his wife, “What a disaster! I called Rasulullah
with three or four and he called everybody.” She said, “Allah and his Messenger know best.”

When Rasulullah arrived he said, “Cover the food and do not break any bone.” He put his noble
hand under the cover and gave the people the food and never ran out. Even when he left, he said,
“Keep this as a provision for you and your neighbor.”

And on several occasions, and narrated by many sahaba, when little water was available at the time of
salah, Rasulullah demanded the water to be collected. Then he made dua of the barakah. Then
the water was enough for 300 people or much much more.

***

When they returned to digging the trench, a humongous rock lay in the way of the plan. They called
Rasulullah to change the plan of the trench, so he said, “Hand me the best axe.” Then, he stood at
that rock and he said, “Bismillah, Allahoakbar.” He hit it once. A big spark emitted and lighted the
mountains all around, seen by all. Then Rasulullah said, “I swear by Allah, I see the palaces of the
Persian Shah, and they are yours.” Then he struck again, and he said, “The palaces of Caesar soon will
be yours.” Amazingly, within ten years, Muslims reached both.

***

28
Abarafiah brought Rasulullah a cooked lamb. Then Rasulullah asked for the arm of the lamb.
When he gave it to him , he asked for the arm a second time. When it was brought, he asked for
the arm again. Abarafiah said they have only two arms. “How many arms does a lamb have?”
Rasulullah said, “If you extend your hand to give me an arm, you will bring me arms as long as I ask.”

***

Many of these stories happened at the time of Rasulullah . He did increase the food on several
occasions.

A Bedouin came to Rasulullah asking for food. Rasulullah did not find anything except a dry piece
of bread. Then, he broke it into pieces and said, “Eat.” The Bedouin ate from and ate again and ate
and ate until he felt full. Then he said, “Oh Muhammad , you are a righteous man.” Rasulullah
said, “Accept Islam.” The Bedouin kept saying, “Oh Muhammad , you are a righteous man,” again and
again until he left.

***

And one day Rasulullah was at the minbar giving a Friday sermon and a bedouin approached. He
shouted, “Ya Rasulullah , a drought is all over! Lifestock is perishing. People are not finding water and
are waiting for rain.” Then Rasulullah interrupted the sermon and started to make the well-known,
authentic dua for rain. Then, when no cloud was in the sky, before the sermon finished, clouds gathered
and piled together and a heavy rain fell. Rain remained like this for a week.

The next Friday, Rasulullah started the sermon. The same man came and he said, “Livestock
drowned, people are tortured, and flash floods are all over. Stop it! Stop it, Ya Rasulullah!” Then
Rasulullah raised his hands and made a dua, “Ya Rabb, make the rain around us and in the springs
and in the wells.” Then everyone miraculously saw the cloud open like a doughnut in the center until
no rain fell on Medinah while all around was lightning and downpour.

***

Not only did the rain and food increase, but the animals and the trees responded to him.

Rasulullah and his companions stopped in an open place. He went to answer the call of nature.
There were two trees far apart from each other in distance. Then Jabir saw the action of Rasulullah
as he took one of the trees in his hand and led the entire tree and it moved to the other tree. Then he
sat behind them both. When he finished, he pointed with his hand for the tree to go back to its place.
Yes, it obeyed him like any animal.

***

On another occasion similar to this, Rasulullah was sitting alone, upset, because one of the people of
Quraish beat him. Then Gibrail came to him , saying, “Would you like us to show you a miracle?”
“Yes,” he said. “Look at that tree in the bottom of the valley. Call it.” Then Rasulullah called it
and it came walking on its trunk until it stopped in front of him. Then Gibrail told him , “Demand it
go back.” And it did. And he said, “That is sufficient. I don’t mind if all humanity belies me after
this.”

***

Similar to this as well, came a man from the Amir tribe. He said, “Oh Rasulullah , please show me the
seal of the prophethood between your shoulders.” Then Rasulullah said to him, “Would you like me
to show you a sign?” He said, “Yes.” Then he looked at a limb of a tree and Rasulullah said, “Come to
me.” Then the limb came hopping to him and made ruku and sujood in front of him. Then the man
said to Rasulullah , “I am with you and I don’t mind whatever they belie you.”

And we were with a sahaba named Yala Ibn Mura and Rasulullah and he took a nap. Then a tree
moved from its place, splitting the floor, until it came to Rasulullah . Then it returned to its place.

30
When Rasulullah woke up, he said, “That tree sought permission from its Lord, Mighty and
Magestic, to say salam to Rasulullah; then it was granted.”

***

Then when we went forward and we passed by a spring. And a woman brought her mentally ill son.
Then Rasulullah held the boy’s nose and he said, “Exit! I am Rasulullah .” Then we left. When we
came back, she came with a few lambs and milk and gave them as a gift to Rasulullah . When we
asked her about the boy, she said, “We never saw any problem with him since that day.” So we took
the milk and returned to her the lambs.

***

Countless miracles were revealed as Rasulullah made dua for his companions and they came true.
Rasulullah came to the house of Ibn Abas. Ibn Abas was still a boy and this time he tried to hide
behind the door. Rasulullah found him and stepped on his foot and said, “Go bring Muaiah.” So Ibn
Abas found Muaiah and called him to the Rasulullah . And he replied he would come as soon as he
finished eating. Ibn Abas return to the Prophet and said, “He is eating.” So, he sent him a second
time, “Go bring Muaiah.” Ibn Abas found Muaiah again, still eating, and returned to the Prophet , “He
is eating.” So, he sent him a third time, “Go bring Muaiah.” Ibn Abas found Muaiah again, still
eating, and returned to the Prophet , “He is eating.” So Rasulullah said, “May Muaiah never be
full.” And from that day Muaiah never felt full. Only after he would eat a while he said, “That’s
enough, I am bored.”

And furthermore Rasulullah supplicated for Ibn Abas that he would live long and acquire
knowledge. And so he memorized the Qur’an and lived 132 years, sane and with a mind clear and
sharp and good.

31
Two royal soldiers came from Persia along with a number of Yeminis to arrest Rasulullah . They
demanded him to go with them as a prisoner to their lord, the Persian Shah. Rasulullah said to
them, “Who is your lord?” They replied, “Yaz Dajard.” And he asked, “Give me time until tomorrow.”
The next day he said, “My Lord, Allah, kills your lord, Yaz Dajard, this morning.” They were stunned,
“How do you know? This news is a month’s journey.” Then Rasulullah said, “Go and tell my salam
to king Bazan of Yemen, who sent you, and say to him that this is the miracle he is awaiting.”

The soldiers left immediately. They reached Yemen along with the news from Persian that Yaz Dajard
was killed. Then Bazan said, “I was waiting for such a miracle to confirm that Muhammad is the
rasul.” Then he accepted Islam along with his entire family. There was no fighting in Yemen, nor in
Abyssinia. And the moment when the King of Abyssinia died, Rasulullah said, “A righteous man has
just died. And Allah forgives him and accepts him.” Then he performed a junazzah salat for the
absent. A month later the news reached Medinah that the King of Abyssinia had died.

32
To Rome

Rasulullah sent messengers along with a large number of believing Muslims to the King of Gassan, an
ally to Rome. Then Rasulullah sent a small army with four leaders. Later, they encountered a huge
number of the Roman army. And Rasulullah , in Medinah, 700 miles away, saw the detail of the
battle. He told his companions the details of the battle: that Zaid ibn Haritha was martyred, then he
mentioned Jaffa ibn Abi Talib was martyred, then he mentioned Abdullah Ibn Rawaha hesitated a little
and then followed them. The he said, now Khalid Ibn Walid (the Sword of Allah) raised the flag and
Allah gave him support. Speaking about an event 700 miles away with no video cameras is a miracle.

***

Later, the Muslim army headed toward Rome with 30,000 people and more than 20 miracles happened
along the way. Rasulullah said, “Al-Hirah will be open to you. At the gate, there will be a pretty
white girl riding a white horse, ornamented and with full decoration.” A sahabah named Kharim said,
“Oh Rasulullah , make dua for this girl to be mine.” Rasulullah said, “She is yours.” Right after the
halakah finished, Kharim went to Omar to have this promise written down. And he stamped it from
Rasulullah and stitched the letter into his clothes.

Time went on. Muslims marched toward the Roman Empire. Al-Hirah was in their way. When they
came close, the main gate opened wide and a nice white girl riding a white horse appeared. She was
easy to capture. Kharim walked to the front of the army, grabbed the horse’s reigns, and said, “This is
mine, and no one may touch!” And he brought her to his tent. Khalid Ibn Walid followed him to
investigate. Kharim immediately showed him the letter he had stitched into his clothes.

In a matter of hours, the nobles of Al-Hirah were negotiating the surrender of the city, but they would
not settle without the issue of that girl. Khalid walked with the nobles to the tent of Kharim. The king
was introduced and he said, “She is my daughter and I need her back; you may ask me for whatever you
want.” Kharim thought a moment and then he said, “There is no way I will return her – unless you pay
me 1000 dinars.” The king immediately paid him 1000 dinars. After the deal was done, Khalid
mentioned to Kharim, “Is that all you would ask? You may have asked him millions.” To this he replied,
“Is there any number higher than 1000?”

33
And the rest of the night all the army laughed over the naivety of their noble Kharim.

***

And along the way the army passed several dried up wells and they became thirsty. Then Abu Bakr
Siddiq said, “Oh Rasulullah , Allah never disappointed you in your dua.” He replied, “It seems you
want me to pray for water. Call the people to bring whatever water they have.” Then the water
collected was not enough for three people to drink. Rasulullah put his hands in the water and he
said, “Bismillah. Hayal al baraka,” and the water sprang from the joints of his hands and flowed until
there was enough for 30,000 people and their animals. And a number of stories like this occurred
during the life of Rasulullah .

Later they stopped to have some rest and they started to chat, “Who is left behind? Who turned back?”
Then some said Abu Tharr went back. Rasulullah said, “Look at the horizon.” Then they saw a tiny
dark dot. And Rasulullah said, “Be Abu Tharr!” And it was.

When Abu Tharr reached them, Rasulullah said, “You traveled alone. You will be alone in your life.
And you will die alone. And you will enter jannah alone.” And that is in fact what happened. He was
isolated during the time of Uthman and when he died Ibn Masud was passing by and he learned of his
death and he mentioned what Rasulullah said.

34
Opening of Makkah

Rasulullah woke up in the morning with full excitement on his face, saying “I had a good dream and it
will happen”. Before the people asked what it was he said, “I dreamed that we will enter the Masjid
Al-Haram, we will enter Makkah, shaving and some trimming, making tawaf.” The sahaba rejoiced a lot
and prepared to go. They were blocked off and they returned with an agreement with Qur’aish: no
fighting for ten years and they can come for Umrah next year. And all people are free to be allies to
Muhammad or Qur’aish. And the Prophet was asked, “Why Rasulullah , did we not enter the
Masjid?” He replied, “Next year you will be, insha Allah”. Miraculously, they entered Makkah,
according to the dream of Rasulullah which seemed impossible to achieve.

In the following years, the Qur’aish broke their covenant and they killed a number of Muhammad’s
allies. Then Rasulullah called the people to jihad, saying, “Abu Sufian is coming to renew the
covenant.” Miraculously, Abu Sufian showed up within two days.

Then Hatif, one of the sahaba, prepared a letter, warning the Quraish of Rasulullah . He secretly gave
the letter to a woman, she hid it in her hair and she continued on. Rasulullah gathered his sahabah
and told them, “There is a woman.” And described her and said to bring her and the letter.

They caught her and she claimed she had no letter. They threatened her and she turned over the letter.

***

Safwan Ibn Umayya ran away from Rasulullah after the liberation of Makkah. He was a wanted man.
Eventually his sister brought him to Rasulullah with security guards. Safwan said I will not believe in
you until I see a miracle. So the Prophet replied, “What do you want?” “I want that big rock to come
here.” Then Rasulullah called to the five ton rock to come near. And miraculously, the rock moved.
Then He told it to come nearer. Then it moved again.

Then Safwan said he needed three months in security to think about Islam. Rasulullah said, “It is
yours. And take six months.” And he accepted Islam within the first month.

35
***

And one of Safwan’s friends, named Rakanah, was a huge, built wrestler. No one had ever beaten him.
Rasulullah went to him and said, “Rakanah, why don’t you accept Islam?” Rakanah said, “Not before
you try to knock me down.” “And if I knock you down, you will accept Islam?” “No, but I will give
you ten lambs.” And Rasulullah said, “And if you knock me down, I will give you ten lambs.”

Within seconds, Rasulullah knocked him on his side on to the floor. Rakanah said, “No one ever
knocked me down yet, but you cheated! And I wasn’t ready.” So he said, “So stand up and be
ready.” A few seconds later, Rakanah was on the floor again. And he repeated this move again.
Rakanah said, “Leave me alone and I will give you the ten lambs.” Rasulullah accepted the ten
lambs and then later returned them to Rakanah as a gift.

Rakanah later accepted Islam. He went with Rasulullah on a journey and all began to get weary from
carrying their belongings. So Rasulullah told them to put their load on Rakanah. And he carried half
the load of the group and Rasulullah said, “Go, Rakanah, you are the ship.”

***

And when Abu Sufian visited Rasulullah to accept Islam, Rasulullah had borne patiently with him for
many years. After he entered Makkah, Muslims were praying and rejoicing in the night. And Abu Sufian
told his wife, “This is only from Allah.” The next day, miraculously, Rasulullah told Abu Sufian about
the conversation he had with his wife in the night. Then Abu Sufian said, “I bear witness that you are
Rasulullah . No one was there but me and my wife.”

***

And soon after this story, the people of Taif gathered a large army and came to Makkah. The battle was
enormous. And when the sahabah were almost defeated, a large number of the enemy charged toward

36
Rasulullah . He took a bunch of sand and threw it towards the horsemen just before they reached
him, saying, “Let all faces be blind.” Every one of them had sand in his eyes. And that was enough to
overturn the attackers. Then He rode his mule charged toward them, saying, “I am the Prophet, no
lie. I am the son of Abdu Al-Muttalib (his grandfather)!” Miraculously, all his enemies fled.
