Summary
Instructions provided describe how to silently uninstall ArcGIS products using
Windows Installer command line options.

Procedure
To uninstall a product silently, use the following Windows Installer command line:

msiexec.exe /x <{product code}> /qb

For example, to uninstall ArcGIS Desktop 9.0 silently, use the following command
line:

msiexec.exe /x {5DC8D05F-2FEA-4D8B-B300-A8F2F758C53F} /qb

Finding product codes

Alternatively, product codes can be 'discovered' from any 'MSI' package by

following the steps below:

1. Download Orca
2. Open Orca.
3. File > Open > Browse to the .msi file.
4. View > Summary Information. The package code, which is synonymous with
the product code, is located within the 'Edit Summary Information' dialog box.
To view the product code select property under tables.

I'd like to uninstall arcgis desktop evaluation 9.3.1770 but the product ID is not present
and with ORCA I'am not able because I havent msi file but exe file in bin folder of
ARCGIS. I'am trying a solution to uninstall argis desktop evaluation on 20 machines
with a script using group policy of windows 2003 server active directory. What Have I
to do ? yhanks

Orca tool shows correct product code by following the steps: 1. Open Orca. 2. File >
Open > Browse to the .msi file. 3. Under Tables listed > select 'Property' >
ProductCode shows correct information. The information from View > Summary
Information doesn't display correct codes according to KB28709.

This article was a great resource with most of my issues. I'd like to also see the product
codes for ArcExplorer 2.0 and similar. In addition, the link to the Micorsoft site is
dead.

Do GUID product codes exist for ArcReader stand-alone 8.2 and 8.3? This info is
missing from the list inthe Procedure section for versions 8.2 and 8.3.
