Al Yousuf symbolises what can be achieved when the private sector and national leadership share
Based on the vision of founder and chairman the late Yousuf Habib Al Yousuf, and the leadership
of his sons - Eqbal and Ahmed - the Al Yousuf Group continues to play a major role in the
emergence of the UAE, and Dubai in particular, as the economic model for the region.
The Group has grown remarkably through a combination of aggressive marketing and the
continuous addition of new agencies and businesses. From a small trading firm based in Dubai,
we now have a network of subsidiaries and associate companies in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia
and Qatar, and our staff strength totals close to 5,000 employees.
Our portfolio is as handsome as it is diversified. It ranges for example from Daihatsu, Daewoo,
Yamaha and Suzuki, to HP, Avaya, NEC, LG, Fujitec and EPSON. Meanwhile, our real Estate
operation has thrived throughout the Group’s history, and has been instrumental in developing
All these achievements are a long way from the tiny rented space where the young Yousuf Habib

The concept of 'partnership' is the core focus of Yousuf Habib Al Yousuf’s philosophy -
partnership between government and business, between distributor and principal, between the
company and the customer, and between the management and staff. It is a concept, which he is
quick to acknowledge that he learnt from Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the late Ruler of

The rapid expansion of Al Yousuf, however, has been achieved not only through adherence to
these values and principles, but also through Yousuf Habib Al Yousuf’s shrewd recognition of
opportunities and his willingness to persist with a business or agency that he believes in.
Confident of the business environment created by the leaders of Dubai and the UAE, Yousuf
Habib Al Yousuf is always prepared to take prudent risks. And his judgement has invariably

CHAPTER-14 TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT & SEVERANCE PAY /
Every organization wants to attract, motivate, and retain the most qualified employees and match
them to jobs for which they are best suited. Human resources, training, and labor relations
managers and specialists provide this connection. In the past, these workers performed the
recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff in accordance with policies established by top
management. Today's human resources workers manage these tasks, but, increasingly, they
consult with top executives regarding strategic planning. They have moved from behind-the-
scenes staff work to leading the company in suggesting and changing policies.
In an effort to enhance morale and productivity, limit job turnover, and help organizations
increase performance and improve results, these workers also help their companies effectively
use employee skills, provide training and development opportunities to improve those skills, and
increase employees' satisfaction with their jobs and working conditions. Although some jobs in
the human resources field require only limited contact with people outside the human resources
