Safety/HR (Environmental) Coordinator
Directs and coordinates the design, development and implementation of safety and
security training programs for the plant to ensure compliance with OSHA and all
company/customer policies and requirements. Conducts safety and security audit
s of plant facilities. Consults with plant management to resolve safety/securit
y problems and functions as an information source to various plant departments w

Principle Duties
Oversees the Safety Committee in developing and implementing a proactive safety
program that heightens employee awareness to all safety issues; develops safety
incentives to increase safety awareness. Conducts monthly meetings at both plan
ts and follow=up to ensure action items are completed in a timely manner. Maint
ains and inputs work orders concerning safety. Coordinates accident investigati
ons to ensure timely completion of hazard abatement. Uses hazard analysis, ensu
ring timely completion of hazard abatement. Recommends discipline for GSO viola
tions. Follow up recommendations from accident investigation are implemented an
d documented for company security. Maintains work order system to ensure timely
completion of safety-related items. Informs plant management of any other matt
ers that may affect the safety and/or security of the plant and employees. Cond
ucts monthly shift safety audits. Maintains all documentation and record keepin
g related to safety training as required by OSHA or company policy. Responsible
for maintenance of plant and health safety manuals, HAZCOM and MSDS inventories
at both facilities. Audits all safety programs and equipment to ensure complia
nce by management, supervisors and employees plus serves as a liaison between OS
HA and corporate safety. Responsible for establishing safety rules and recommen
dations in consultation with safety manager and plant management. Responsible f
or investigation and enforcement of safety violations by employees and/or contra
ctors. Responsible for implementation of Corporate Safety Managers audit recomm
endations. Audits all security programs and equipment to ensure compliance with
company, customer and government requirements. Audits al security programs and

ts. Security and food security audits are completed twice a year. Heads food s
ecurity review team and is responsible for ensuring recommendations of semi-annu
al Food Security and the Preventative Measures Review team. Works with Safety M
anager to produce monthly safety update with safety statistics. Makes recommend
ations to management about ways to reduce costs and targets areas for safety exp
ense/savings based on history. Ensures all appropriate PPE and other safety-rel
ated equipment is reviewed, made available and correctly maintained. Completes
audits for employee/contractor/visitor PPE standards. Works with plant manageme
nt /staff to ensure adequate inventory of PPE. Ensures the plants maintain comp
any standards for safety and security of all its employees, facilities and equip
ment. Responsible for documenting and investigating any reports of trespassing/
vandalism/theft. Aids local law enforcement in their investigations of damage t
o/theft of company property and /or employee property when applicable. Prepares
for and coordinates responses to plant emergencies with local officials as need
ed. Responsible for maintenance and updates of Process Safety Management Plan a
nd Risk Management Plan. Works with PSM/RMP consultant and/or government auditor
s/regulators to ensure compliance with PSM/RMP goals, objectives and targets to
ensure company compliance with all applicable regulations. Is the plant liaison
with local Emergency Planning Committee officials and local EMS staff at all lo
cations. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAAACP support programs
. Assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Serves
as back up for other HR duties as needed.

Principle Duties
Develop, implement and maintain Texas Lehigh Cement Company LP Safety & Health P
rograms. Manage the companys safety program, safety discipline, training progra
ms, employment screening and worker compensation issues, Human Resource regulati

se from supervisors and plant management. Administer Workers compensation progra
m of both current and also legacy claims. Ensure that all contractors that perf
orm work onsite receive MSHA/OSHA training and that managers are provided the co
ntractor/vendor Workers Compensation Insurance Claim Rating of contractors/vendo
r hired. Process all new/current employees through Human Resources changes and
or discrepancies, inform and train employees on new human resource changes and o
r developments. Provide new employee introductory paperwork and explanation of
company rules, regulations and handbook. Provide the proper paperwork for emplo
yee documentation. Provide prospective employees with testing and personal inte
rview. Director is responsible for the recruitment and selection of all skilled
/entry positions into the company.
