DALLAS ARTS DISTRICT ALLIANCE - DALLAS ARTS DISTRICT FOUNDATION- DALLAS, TX.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (2008)
Organized due diligence in preparation for restructuring of non-profit status to
a City of Dallas organization. Oversaw staff and directed operations for this 2
4-year old arts organization.
THANKS-GIVING FOUNDATION – DALLAS, TX
PRESIDENT (2000-2002)
Recruited to stabilize the financial position and increase the visibility of thi
s internationally recognized foundation with ties to The UN. Developed relations
hips with donors to secure a $500,000 donation for naming rights to Thanks-Givin
g Hall.
Other accomplishments include:
Co- producer of award winning video highlighting the mission and work of Thanks-
Giving
Square used for fundraising
Oversaw annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast with record attendance. (600 fro
m 300.)
Initiated annual fundraising dinner, Spirit of Thanks-giving, which netted $200,
000, breaking records from past fundraising efforts.
Produced, in conjunction with NBC Channel 5 a one-hour live broadcast from Thank
s-Giving Square at 7p.m. on Sept. 12, 2001, preempting scheduled programming. O
ver 1,000 attendees and TV viewing audience of thousands.
Represented the Foundation at the 2000 UN Global Peace Summit in NYC.
THE GREATER DALLAS CRIME COMMISSION –DALLAS, TX
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 1996-2000)
Selected from 400 candidates to direct this non-profit, the second oldest crime
commission in the US, serving a 22-city area in North Texas. Grew corporate memb
ership by 50% by meetings with potential members and special events. This genera
ted 50% more operating capital and higher public visibility for the Commission.
Other successes include:
Oversaw a Texas “Model Drug Law†Conference in Dallas in conjunction with the National A
lliance of Model State Drug Laws in Washington, DC. Over 400 community leaders
attended from 29 different cities.
Negotiated $200,000 in annual funding from the Hillcrest Foundation for the week
ly production of Crimestopper re-enactments on Channel 8 newscasts. (Also negoti
ated with Channel 8 to run these segments pro bono.)
Produced annual fundraising luncheon with record attendance of 1400. Negotiated
with NYC mayor’s office for booking Rudy Giuliani as keynote. National media coverag
e by C-Span.
TEXANS’ WAR ON DRUGS – DALLAS, TX
REGIONAL DIRECTOR - (1989-1992)
Headed Governor Clements drug prevention program serving 10 counties in North Te
xas.
Other accomplishments include:
Initiated drug prevention/education programs for school-age children living in p
ublic housing developments in Dallas. Negotiated with HUD regional office and Da
llas Housing Authority.
Launched reception hosting former First Lady Nancy Reagan, inviting local media
and area leaders.
Travelled 21,000 car miles annually, developing drug prevention city-wide task f
orces with city officials across North Texas.

AMERICAN CITY BUSINESS JOURNALS (ABC) DALLAS BUISINESS JOURNAL – DALLAS, TX
ADVERTISING/MARKETING DIRECTOR - (1992 -1995)
Reorganized this underperforming weekly to a top revenue producer for ABC. (a gr
oup of 26 weekly business newspapers) Company sales ranking rose from #24 out of
26 to #2 out of 26 in a two-year period.

Developed an innovative training program and incentive-based commission structur
e for staff of 14 account executives.
Voted “Employee of the Month†by newspaper staff.
