OBJECTIVE: Security/Fire Alarm Technician Position
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
* Active government Secret security clearance
* Installs, maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs intrusion detection
systems (IDS), fire alarm systems, closed-circuit television systems (CCTV) and
microprocessor based components. Performs component level bench repair of defe
ctive IDS systems, fire alarm systems and CCTV equipment.
* Solves maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, wiring and schematic
diagrams and analyzing construction and operating characteristics. Uses meters,
testing devices, indicators and recorders to locate equipment malfunctions and f
aults. Diagnoses malfunctions and recommends repair procedures necessary to corr
ect defective equipment.
* Troubleshoots malfunctions using technical orders, manufacturers' handbooks, l
ocal procedures, codes and directives. Develops and establishes maintenance and
operating procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Performs verification-of-operation tests of IDS and fire alarm systems compone
nts and devices.
* Performs planning activities, performs surveys and cost estimates to determine
resource requirements. Applies engineered performance standards to plan and es
timate jobs. Coordinates equipment logistics such as shipping and receiving of
materials, tracking and ordering spare parts and Bill-of-Materials (BOM) prepara
tion. Ensures equipment inventory is always sufficient to meet demands of the c
ustomer.
* Works with host country personnel (local nationals) when required.
* Ensures compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protecti
on Association (NFPA), (Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and
associated safety, environmental regulations and practices.
* Conducts training on quality assurance, safety, Material Safety Data Sheets (M
SDS) and security awareness.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook, E
xcel and PowerPoint).

2001- Department Manager, Fire/Security Alarm Systems, Prince Sultan Air Base, K
ingdom of Saudi Arabia
* Managed and directed an 11-person crew during the installation of several fire
protection systems for the Joint Task Force (JTF) Southwest Asia complex; Consi
sted of the upgrading of existing fire alarm systems, the procurement of 248 smo
ke and heat detectors, 21 pull-boxes and over 4,500 feet of fire alarm cable, br
inging a $50 million complex up to current fire code standards, saving approxima
tely $1.2 million dollars in contractor costs.
1994-1997 - Department Manager, Fire/Security Alarm Systems, Andersen Air Base,
Guam
* Instituted, managed and directed the entire upgrade of the Andersen Air Base c
entral security alarm monitoring station at the base Law Enforcement Center (Adv
antor) Console and the installation of (Advantor) control panels in 36 alarmed f
acilities throughout the base, saving approximately $675,000 dollars in contract
or costs.

* Maintained, repaired and spearheaded the upgrade of fire alarm suppression sys
tem components for the AIR FORCE ONE Presidential Aircraft Hanger. Co
rrected serious deficiencies that were identified during a malfunction and subse

,000 in contractor costs.
