• Delete Profile (4): When deleting a profile, a confirmation page will appear
which will ask the operator to confirm whether or not that custom profile should
be deleted.
NOTE: Only a custom profile can be deleted. The Factory Profile cannot be
deleted.

OPERATOR ID - CHANGE OPERATOR/LOG OUT OPERATOR
• Explain the procedures for The Current Operator ID (1) in the Message Window identifies the current operator
changing or logging out of an of the machine. The Change Operator (2) button allows the user to change from
operator. one operator to another.
The Change Operator page has two different selections, depending on how the
operator has been entered into the system by the Master Operator:
• Digital Passcode
• Hexadecimal Key Code (used only when the display picks up a Bluetooth®
signal, if installed)
To change the operator using the digital passcode, enter the passcode of the
replacement operator on the numerical keypad.
NOTE: If the log in procedure is blocked due to several invalid attempts, a
page will appear with the message Code Entry Blocked, and the machine
will be locked out for 15 minutes.
If the operator is set up with a hexadecimal key code, the code can be located
by pressing the Search for Key button (4), which will display the bluetooth button
allowing the operator to search for the access code by locating a signal.
NOTE: Changing the operator will load the machine settings and the
display settings that are tied to that particular Operator Identification.
To log out an operator, press the Log Out Operator button (3) and the log out
confirmation page will appear.

GRADE CONTROL - GRADE AND SLOPE
• Explain the Grade and Slope The Grade and Slope feature uses built-in machine position sensing cylinders on
feature. the side plates, or sonic sensors, to measure elevations of milling surfaces, or a
slope sensor to measure the machine’s slope. When the Grade and Slope system
is in Auto mode, it controls the hydraulics of the machine to maintain intended
target values.
The Grade and Slope Home screen (1) appears just above the Grade and Slope
tab button (2). The Cross Slope Target State icon (3) indicates appears on the
Grade and Slope Home screen. There are three types of Target States:
• No slope - Indicates the grade and slope blade is set to a neutral or flat
position.
• Positive slope - Indicates the grade and slope blade is sloping to the left
position and that the right tip of the blade is pointed UP.
• Negative slope - Indicates the grade and slope blade is sloping to the right
position and that the left tip of the blade is pointed UP.
The Cross Slope Target Elevation Value Percentage Reading (4) shows the
measured value of the slope of the grade and slope sensor. This number will
appear in red text when the system is outside of the specific tolerance.
Pressing the grade and slope tab button will display the Grade and Slope settings
page. The view of the Grade and Slope page depends upon the configuration and
on which side of the machine the display is mounted. If the configuration is set to
Dual Screen, the full page of the Grade and Slope page will appear.

SERV2119 - 07/18 -51- Module 2 - Monitoring System
The Grade Control State Indicators show the current state of the system for either
the left side (5) or the right side (6) of the machine. The indicator appears if the
system is in one of three states:
• Manual - Shows that the grade and slope has to be operated manually.
• Auto Active - Shows that the grade and slope can be operated automatically.
• Auto Not Allowed - The Auto Not Allowed Mode shows a positive yellow Auto
symbol with a slash, alternating with a negative yellow (black background)
Auto symbol with a slash. Each symbol flashes 3 times each for one half of
a second (for a total of 5 seconds), ending with a steady positive yellow Auto
symbol with slash.
NOTE: If the Grade and Slope feature is either not installed or in the OFF
position, no state indicator will be visible.
The Dynamic Cross Slope Indicator (7) visual compares the actual value setting of
the blade angle, shown by the Blade Angle Icon (8), with the Target Value setting
for the blade angle (green line) (9). Each side of the Target Value green line has a
Blade Angle Pivot Point Cross (10) on the right side of the blade. The Pivot Point is
a black cross (+) whose coordinates will remain in a 90 degree position.
The Actual Value Setting is in sync with the Actual Cross Slope - Percentage
reading (11) so that the operator can determine the actual value setting percentage
numerically.
The Target Value Setting is in sync with the Target Cross Slope - Percentage
reading to allow the operator to determine the targeted value setting percentage
numerically.
The Target Value Setting and the Target Cross Slope - Percentage reading are also
in sync with the Target State icon, which shows No Slope.

MODULE CONCLUSION
This concludes the monitoring system module for the 24 Motor Grader.
When used in conjunction with the Service Manuals, the information in this module
will aid the service technician in using the monitoring system to troubleshoot and
correct problems with the machine systems.
For service repairs, adjustments, and maintenance, always refer to the Operation
and Maintenance Manual (OMM), Service Manuals, and other related service
publications.
