Director of Operations
Administratively responsible for the management of clinical and business operati
ons, physician practice management, program marketing and development. This incl
udes the planning, coordination and direction of all aspects of the clinic and c
enters. Prepares, submits and maintains accountability for operational and capit
al budgets of assigned practice. Direct the functions of nurses, medical office
assistants, customer service associates and other technical and support personne
l at the location. I recruit and retain qualified associates in order to maintai
n appropriate staffing targets. Provide ongoing training and performance feedbac
k to individual associates by establishing goals and developmental plans. I esta
blish and maintain staff competency in all defined areas of performance and clin
ical practice. Under my direction the Clinic has experienced a 40% growth in 201
0 compared to 2009.
POCONO HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania a 2008
Management arm for 5 regional healthcare providers, including a medical center,
healthcare management, ambulatory services, healthcare partners and foundation.
Director of Physician Practices and Strategic Initiatives
Lead business planning, finance and operations for 9 Pocono Medical Center-owned
physician practices. Establish goals, strategic initiatives and budgets. Ensure
best-practice performance and initiate corrective action for budget and benchma
rk variances. Project manages all construction/practice relocations within the p
hysicianas network as well as strategic initiatives such as Electronic Medical R
ecords (EMR), Urgent Care and Retail Health Centers. Concurrently, direct accoun
ting and information systems functions and personnel, including receivables, pay
roll, and reimbursement and revenue reporting for Pocono Healthcare Management.
Oversee 100 total staff (in the practices) and administer budget of $20M.
a Established innovative, strategic community-wide health initiatives:
o Electronic Medical Record (EMR) network enabling access of patient medical rec
ords at any time, from anywhere. System provides a referral mechanism allowing p
roviders to efficiently collaborate around patient care.
o Federal Qualified Health Centera non-profit, community-owned center serving lo
w-income, uninsured and medically underserved populations with full life-cycle h
ealth care.
o Retail Health Initiative whereby health clinics are operated inside leading re
tail stores. Spearheading partnership alliance with Wal-Mart.
o Urgent Care Centers to reduce the burden on Emergency Rooms while providing hi
gher levels of service for urgent (but not critical) health needs.
