1.1 – Background

Amtrad is a proud manufacturer of concrete blocks and pavers whilst been in business
since 1980. with the recognition as a pioneer in the industry, Amtrad proud to be the
only company certified by the Sri Lanka standards carrying SLS 855. Further Amtrad is
an ISO 9001:2000 certified organization in Sri Lanka. Amtrad boasts of an impressive list
of customers who made use of Amtrad concrete blocks and pavings not only in Sri
Lanka, even overseas.

Amtrad’s state-of-the-art factory is located at Pasyala over 04 acres of land includes six
large semi automatic machines and a fully automatic machine. Amtrad quality is assured
with the very initial stages of the manufacturing process whilst extending to overall
maintenance carried out by highly qualified personnel in our mechanical and technical
workshops. A work force of over 150 strength in the factory handle an average of about
50000 units on a normal working shift. Fully equipped laboratory staffed by a qualified
team trained by the Sri Lanka standards institution impose highest standards to ensure
quality at single stage of the manufacturing process.

domestic customers. Amtrad’s main clients such as Nawaloka contructions, Sanken
Lanaka, Maga engineering, Thudawa brothers and Central engineering consultant bureau.
Whilst having major construction clients Amtrad holds 55% of market share.

SMS Holdings, ELS, Saga Holdings, Upali Pavers, Unique Pavers, RN Constructions and
Amstrong.

1.3 – Portfolio

The products are sized for convenience and strength, manufactured to accurate
dimensions. The unique composition supplemented by the state-of-the-art manufacturing
techniques is the process that produces products up to standard level of compressive
strength. Amtrad is able to provide wide range of products in order to cater to many
segments in the market. There are three types of concrete blocks and four types of pavers.
At the moment company is largely focus on UNI III production since there is high
demand in the market.

1.4 – Performance

Amtrad was able be witness in important sites which whole Sri Lanka knows, such as Sri
Dalada Maligawa, Madhu Church, The President’s House, World Trade Center, Prima
Ceylon, Temple Tress etc;. Amtrad’s customer base has been increased by 18% since last
May. Nowadays Amtrad is able supply more than 700000 blocks of UNI III per month
for rural road development projects under “Maga Naguma” project.

Amtrad was able to increase the revenue by 30% with compared to previous year.
