PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Aker Construction, Inc Morgantown, WV, May 2008 to Present. May 2008 recruited
by a former supervisor to join Aker Construction as a Contract Manager to coor
dinate and operate all aspects of over 100-million dollars worth of subcontracts
and various scopes of work on the Longview Power Project from the inception of
requests for proposals through bid review, award, construction phases, and final
ly closeout. A sampling of my duties include concrete foundations for the Coolin
g Tower and Power Generation Structures, various electrical subcontracts for the
facility, Security and Communication contracts, all architectural finishes on t
he project throughout multiple buildings, all pre-engineered building constructi
on and coordination from the designing phase through closeout, all aspects of th
e HVAC including AHUs, split systems, vent fans and louvers, metal roofing and s
iding, built-up roofing, all painting and coatings, and fabricated storage tanks
. I am currently responsible for all cost control and budgetary forecasting duti
es associated with my subcontractors along with schedule integration, change ord
er pricing and contract resolution. Additionally I have handled the primary stru
ctures for the owner and have had a direct working relationship with the site ow
ners to ensure that when Aker and our subs are complete there will be minimal or
zero punch list items.

McKamish, Inc Pittsburgh, Pa, January 2006 to May 2008. January 2007 to May 20
08 I was a Project Manager in charge of two separate projects involving the HVAC
Scope of work, one was a 4.6 million dollar contract with the Veterans Administ
ration in Aspinwall, PA and the other was a 3.6 million dollar project with the
US Army Corps of Engineers in Frederick, Md. I was responsible for all financial
duties associated with these jobs including monthly cost control, change order
pricing and resolution, and manpower forecasting. Additionally I handled all equ
ipment procurement, contract/change order writing, request for information resol
utions and tracking, and subcontractor management.
Served as Assistant Project Manager from January 2006 to January 2007 in the con
struction of the state of the art Childrens Hospital in Lawrenceville, Pa. Main
duties included the procurement of all HVAC Equipment, subcontractor management,
MEP coordination and planning, and field management for the installation of Mec
hanical HVAC systems including custom AHUs and all process piping required for t
he facility.
Dick Corporation - North Branch Correctional Institute Cumberland, MD, April 20
05 to December 2005. This facility is a 256-Cell Maximum Security Prison constr
ucted in accordance with the State of Maryland. Dick Corporation served as the G
eneral Contractor and I was brought to the Job as Senior Project Engineer to ass
ist in the buyout and procurement of remaining Architectural Finish items, writi
ng and negotiation of remaining contracts, change order resolution, and to serve
as Closeout Engineer for project team. My main responsibility was to create an
owner-approved process for the project closeout duties. This included the creati
on and implementation of various closeout spreadsheets including: O&M Guidelines
, Warranty, Spare Parts and Attic Stock, and Owner Testing & Training. My respo
nsibilities pertained to efforts to coordinate the closeout actions with all sub
contractors involved on the project.
Dick Corporation - Pittsburgh International Airport Pittsburgh, Pa, September 2
002 to April 2005. Served as a Project Engineer/MEP Coordinator in the Construc
tion Management Division supporting the ACAA. My foremost responsibility was to
serve as the owners representative on the contracted Projects with the Allegheny
County Airport Authority. Typical duties included preparing and tracking proje
ct schedules, subcontractor RFIs and submittals, tracking project quantities, pr
eparing monthly pay estimates and change orders as required, and coordinating co
ntractors for multi disciplined projects through weekly progress meetings and da
ily interaction with project inspectors. Responsibilities also included interact
ion directly with the owner and designers to provide design review and recommend
ations from a projects initial inception to its completion to ensure that the ow
ners best interests are maintained.
A sample of projects that I was involved with include the Central Piping Glycol
Recovery System, Terminal Preventative Maintenance Projects which entail multifa
ceted scopes of work including Mechanical HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Piping,
and Architectural disciplines, Retrofit of Fire Pump Houses, and the revised ba
ggage handling system for the South Baggage Matrix. This project was constructed
in conjunction with the TSA and federal regulations regarding the new federal g
uidelines for baggage screening systems for Airline Travel.
The South Matrix BHS system involved the construction of a new 12,000 sq. ft. ad
dition to the Landside Terminal and complete retrofit of the Non US Airways Sout
h Baggage Matrix. I was involved throughout the various phases of construction b
ut had a direct responsibility to implement a closeout plan to work with the des
igner and BHS General Contractor for testing, startup, and commissioning of this
system as well as formulate the closeout punch list for the project.
Dick Corporation - NRG Meriden Combined Cycle Facility, Meriden, CT, January 200
2-September 2002, Served as a Project Engineer with responsibilities that includ
ed the scope of work for all the structural steel for this project. This include
d all procurement of materials, RFPs and awards for subcontractors, contract wri
ting and negotiations, tracking progress and quantities, preparing change orders
, addressing RFIs, and direct coordination with vendors and subcontractors to as
sure the timely progression of the site specific schedule. All Structural Steel
for this project was supplied from a Pre-Engineered Manufacturer in Cullman Alab
ama, multiple site visits and progress visits were conducted by me to ensure the
timely progression and quality control that was required for the project to mee
t the specified deadlines per the CPM Schedule.
Additional scope of work duties included the above ground fire protection for th
e site, HVAC, roofing & siding, masonry, overhead doors, and all architectural f
inishes for the site buildings.
Dick Corporation - AES Londonderry Combined Cycle Facility, Londonderry, NH, Apr
il 2001 to January 2002 Served as a Project Engineer with responsibilities th
at included the scope of work for maintaining the following; roofing & siding, H
VAC, rebar & concrete, pre-engineered buildings, miscellaneous metals, all inter
ior finishes, doors and windows, and masonry. Responsible for the scope of work
associated with the eco-sensitive Green Construction of the Owners Administrati
on and Maintenance Building. This included direct coordination with the owners r
epresentative and staff concerning material selection, procurement, and construc
tion progress meetings. I maintained and managed the working schedule with the m
ultiple primes that had concurrent construction activities. These included the r
oofing and siding, elevator installations, plumbing, HVAC, Electrical work, and
all interior finishes
Dick Corporation - ANP Bellingham Combined Cycle Facility, Bellingham, MA, March
2000 to April 2001
Served as a Project Engineer with responsibilities that included the scope of wo
rk for maintaining the following; all site civil earth work including clearing a
nd grubbing, city and site utilities permitting, site drainage including detenti
on ponds and underground piping, sanitary system including leech field and septi
c system, all roadways and paving, rebar and concrete, and prefabricated structu
res, all underground mechanical process piping for various plant mechanical syst
ems, and above ground piping for potable water, fire protection, and finish plum
bing. I assisted in the procurement of interior finishes for doors, hardware, lo
ckers, bath accessories, and partitions.
Handex of Western Pennsylvania, Cranberry Township, PA, Construction Coordinator
, September 1998 to April 2000. Promoted to and served as lead construction coo
rdinator for all remedial construction activities for the Western Pennsylvania b
ranch including territories in South Eastern Ohio. I predominantly maintained a
multi-disciplined group of remediation sites and activities through monthly, qu
arterly, semi-annually, and annual site testing modalities. I served as Project
Manager for Multi Site land recovery project including scheduling manpower, subc
ontractor acquisition, status reports, & budgetary control.
Handex of Ohio, Cincinnati, OH, Staff Hydro geologist, May 1997 to September 199
8. Served as a Staff Hydro geologist performing phase I assessments and phase I
I site remediation practices and activities. I was given control of 15 multiple
state sites while member of the Amoco team with responsibilities to maintain the
site-specific regulatory compliance of each location. I was required to perform
all aspects of environmental field activities including UST removals, groundwat
er sampling, pilot tests, aquifer studies, risk assessment studies, and emergenc
y response activities.
Cook Environmental Engineering, Inc., Wexford, PA, Environmental Intern/Engineer
, January 1995 to January 1997. Obtained an intern position in January of 1995
and was offered a full time position to stay on as ACAD detailer and field engin
eer. I assisted the lead Staff Hydrologist in performing phase I assessments a
nd phase II site remediation practices and activities. Worked closely with the c
onstruction and O&M of one of the largest site remediation projects in Westmorel
and County. Performed all aspects of ACAD design and groundwater modeling for f
ield activities necessary for the various compliance reports. Revised ineffecti
ve data management methods and produced a general proposal for site remediation
projects for seven locations throughout the northeastern United States.
CNF Industries, Meriden CT. Mechanical Contracting Company (3/90-12/90, 5/92-9/9
2, 5/93-9/94). Provided project support to PMs and Superintendents for Cogenera
tion Plants and sites throughout New England. Plant types included Coal Burners,
Garbage Burners, Hydroelectric, and Combined Cycle.
