AVP - I was promoted to Senior Account Executive responsible for directing all d
etails for national and local publicity efforts for an18-city Professional Beach
Volleyball Tour (AVP) for four seasons. My responsibilities included strategic
planning, writing, follow-up and coverage. I created promotional material such
as press releases, media alerts and internal and external correspondence. I pitc
hed pre, on-site and post event coverage to print, television, radio and web med
ia. I provided media at each stop with background material; current statistics a
nd story ideas. I traveled to the 18 event stops prior to the event weekend to
promote preview media coverage, scheduled a media hour the day before each event
and operated the media center for the duration of event. I worked as the AVP li
aison to local promoters for the public relations efforts at each Tour stop. Cre
ated, fostered and maintained a working relationship between the AVP and the pub
lic relations efforts of participating Tour sponsors and/or their public relatio
ns firms. I was responsible for pitching special events within the scope of the
Tour season, including the launch of each season, retirement of top players and
business stories such as the 25th anniversary of the league. I created an end-o
f-the-year report with a summary of all coverage throughout the entire season pr
oviding a dollar value for media coverage. End of the year report was used in sa
les presentations to potential sponsors and promoters.
Sports Museum of Los Angeles (SMLA) - I was the Senior Account Executive respons
ible for the promotion of the grand opening of the new Sports Museum of Los Ange
les (SMLA November of 2008). Created, maintained and executed the strategic pub
lic relations plan for the opening of the museum to the media and the general pu
blic. I was responsible for the creation of all promotional material, web mater
ial, preview and post-event story pitching to print, televeision, radio and web
media. I coordinated a press conference for Los Angeles media prior to the openi
ng and was responsible for scheduling, producing and monitoring interviews. Sch
eduled and coordinated an additional invitation-only event for Los Angeles top e
xecutives, including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, an annual celebrity-based triathlon that raised m
oney for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. My responsibilities in

advisories and web materials, and distribution of a Video News Release (VNR).
