Habit One: Be Proactive

“You’re in Charge”
Kindergarten

- Have students brainstorm things that they are in charge of at

home or school. This could be jobs, chores, or activities that they
have to get done each day like homework. “What are you in
charge of?” “Are you always positive about having to get these
tasks accomplished?”

- Discuss with students that even though they are small they can
take charge of themselves and get things accomplished. They
can be responsible for things too!

Busy Be-e “Be Proactive”

Directions: Give students their Busy Be-e page to decorate

(document name pdf Habit One K activity). They will then write in the
bee body how they are proactive in their lives. Ex. “I am proactive by
helping my mom make dinner every night.” If they have room they
may also draw a picture of how they are proactive.
