sold. Capital budget = $350K, Cost savings = $207K.
* Using the DMAIC process and lean techniques, led a cross functional team that
reduced process scrap and labor time in the most labor intensive operation in th
e plant. Developed and verified measurement method. Wrote process instruction
and trained operators to new instruction. Expense budget $60, Cost savings $218
K.
* Automated a highly manual/labor intensive operation through the purchase of a
new machine and development of new process. The resulting process monitored key
product characteristics and stopped the machine when these characteristics fell
outside of specification limits. The increased line speed and automated monito
ring reduced cost by one-third. Capital budget = $175K.
* Decreased costs through the purchase of a new machine and creation of a new pr
ocess. The previous process would stop the machine, limiting throughput and inc
reasing costs. Once implemented, the new process increased throughput and decre
ased labor cost by 30%. Capital budget = $80K.
* Designed and executed multiple controlled experiments to understand variation
in existing processes and resolve questions based on conjecture. Led Kaizen eve
nts to improve systems in the manufacturing plant.
