Opening Session

Activating Thinking Strategy (ATS): Upon dressing out, students will immediately report to their assigned positions on the
gym floor. They will be introduced to the standards, determine and define key vocabulary, and have the standards paraphrased
to grasp a better understanding.
The teacher will guide students throughout the lesson while helping them learn the standards that are being
implemented
The students will execute the assignments while gaining an understanding of the standards they have been
introduced to
Work Session
What task(s) will students do? How does the task connect to the standard? How does the task connect to the lesson modeled in
the opening?
Will students work in small groups, pairs, or individually? What expected outcomes from students being engaged in the task?
How will I monitor and assess students?
Remediation –Progress Monitoring Small Group Instruction: Will I meet with small groups, and how will the grouping be
determined? What will I do differently if the students do not understand or already understand the concept? How will I reteach,
allow students to practice, and when and how to reassess? (based on formative data)
The students will listen to a short introduction to the history of football. They will then learn how to snap the football and be
assessed. The students who pass this assessment will conclude by learning how to throw and catch a football, followed by
assessment. This work session assists the students in enhancing sport knowledge, physical fitness, sport-related skills, and
awareness. It reinforces the standards covered in the opening and puts them in active practice. Students will work in small
groups. Students will be challenged, excited, and active. Students will be monitored through supervision
Remediation –Progress Monitoring Small Group Instruction: Students and teachers will model the exercises before
starting..
Conferencing: None, except for anyone who does not attempt to participate in the work session
Celebrate: Effort an correct form will be validated.
Confirm: Technique and conditioning will be tracked.
Continue: Maintain, increase, or decrease the work session based on how many student met the standard
Closing Session –

Students will perform cool own stretches called out by teacher. While doing this teacher will ask different students about the
standard of the day.
As a result of today’s lesson, I can demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety
of activities by performing complex movement patterns used in small-sided game situations and performing advanced rhythm
sequences that combine movement, complex concepts and skills.
