LIMS Xpress

In 2010, Super Religare Laboratories Limited introduced Wellness centers that provide screening for predictive & preventive health services. These centers are patient service centers which apart from collecting specimens for pathology tests, also has capability to perform diagnostic tests like ECG, X-Ray etc. These centers are connected to the nearest SRL network lab. The challenge was to meet the business requirement of these centers while keeping the capex and opex cost at the minimum. The CLIMS application that was currently being used in the Labs had a distributed architecture. Deployment of CLIMS at these centers would have added to the cost. LIMS Xpress was developed to meet these business needs with a feathery application that could fit the budgetary constraints of IT infrastructure at PSCs. The application should be able to connect to the central database, extending all the services of lab to the patient service centre without compromising on the quality & TAT. Hence we developed this miniature of CLIMS, a web based application. Through LIMS Xpress application we could connect with the network lab application system (CLIMS). LIMS Xpress is a high performance, web-based application that is a one-stop solution for all needs of a patient service center. It is integrated with CLIMS for real time data transfer and provides a wide range of services to the patient service center. The LIMS Xpress application installed at wellness centers, connects to our web server using web services. The web server in turn is connected to our centralized server, where the data is consolidated for all the connected lab locations. Integration with SAP is also configured thru the centralized server. Deployment of this application saved the cost of Infrastructure, License cost for server, OS, AMC and cost of human resources. LIMS Xpress automates the customer registration and billing process at patient service centers. It has capabilities to generate & print TRF, bar-coding, billing, patient receipts, material request, consumption and result reporting. It also helps reduce pre-analytical TAT, avoids accession duplication and allows billing on MRP (Gross Billing to end customer). LIMS Xpress allows fast capturing of patient demography and test ordering for patient service centers. Records of patients with global IDs are shared across all connected labs and patient service centres. This enables fast retrieving of already registered members avoiding duplicate key-in time of patient demography. Registered patients can avail of ePathology services through our website (www.srlworld.com). In addition they will receive SMS services which includes Login ID & Password SMS for accessing result reports online. Thank You SMS (On test ordering) & Report ready SMS (When the report is ready). LIMS Xpress application captures test request information and generates unique barcode labels for each test specimen for accurate sample identification and tracking. Samples are sent to the lab for testing. The same bar-coding done at the patient service center can be used at Lab for sample acceptance, eliminating the need for re-printing of barcodes for instrument Interface except for aliquoting. Result Entry and Review facility is provided in the application for centers which are capable of performing the test at their end. The remaining tests are performed at the connected SRL network lab. Irrespective of where the tests are performed, there is facility to generate consolidated result report (of pathology & non-pathology tests), fitness certificates for corporate customers etc. at the patient service centre itself.

It ensures better utilization of staff by reducing manual process and provides vital reports such asResult status (Pending Accession, Problem Sample, Result Delay), Local Patient List (Frequent Visitors), Frequently ordered tests and Inventory Management (MR / Consumption). In addition to these it also has MIS reports for Daily Log sheet to view number of test request for the day, daily sales & collection monitoring, Test Ranking Report, Patient Re-Visit frequency Monitoring Report etc.

Global Patient search - Patients who have registered themselves at any of the SRL connected labs get a unique global patient ID. The patient visiting any wellness centre need not register again. They can simply produce their global ID and the system will automatically fetch the patient demographics. This helps to save time of the patient and the operator. Status checking utility The status of each sample can be tracked at each stage right from the point of registration to the time of result report delivery. The status displays problem sample details, result delay with reasons, result entry or review stage, report ready and expected Turn Around Time. Worksheet generation When the samples are accepted in the lab, they need to be allocated to different sections as per the test ordered. The segregation of tests & samples and allocation of jobs have been automated through the worksheet generation process. The worksheet distributes the tests & prints the parameters of tests for each section. Fitness report Corporate clients can get a customized fitness certificate to know the health status of their employees. Secured web & email reporting Web reporting allows the patient to securely access all his reports anytime anywhere. The results on completion of the tests ordered are available online with print & view options. As soon as the final report is ready it is pushed to the webserver. The customer can securely access their result reports from the Verisign certified website. Auto Email sends out the result reports in password protected PDF file to the customers email id.
