This proced ure guid es you in creating a backup copy of the EMC Ionix ControlCenter infrastructure before an update bund le is applied . Prerequisites
Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 infrastructure should be at 6.1 base or any Upd ate Bund le as m entioned in Patch Overview Section. The original and new hosts m ust have the sam e Fully Qualified Domain N etw ork (FQDN ) nam e.

Insta lling the pa tch and ba cking up Ionix ControlCenter applica tion
Use the follow ing proced ure to install the patch and backup Ionix ControlCenter hosts: 1. Dow nload and unzip CC_4887.zip (Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Backup and Restore Utility) to a tem porary d irectory on the Ionix ControlCenter server, repository, store(s), StorageScope and API server hosts. Run Patch4887.exe. Wait for the install w izard to start and follow the installation instructions to proceed . Go to %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% d irectory. a. Check if a fold er HF4887 is created . b. Verify that the follow ing scripts and files are available in the HF4887 fold er: 4. backup.bat LCUW_m aster_logtypes.emc LCW_UI_Init.emc regutil610.exe regutil.pl restore.bat

Go to %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ tools\ utils d irectory and check that the m od ified d ate for the file regutil.exe is sam e as that of %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ H F4887\ regutil610.exe. Backup all Ionix ControlCenter Rep ository, Store(s) and API Server hosts by executing the backup.bat file from the %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ HF4887 fold er. N OTE: Verify if the backup inform ation has been generated by backup.bat in the d irectory %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ tools\ utils\ BackupFiles.

Reboot the Ionix ControlCenter hosts. N OTE: Rebooting the hosts w ill shutd ow n all the Ionix ControlCenter and Oracle-related services and changes the start-up type to Manual. Verify that all the Ionix ControlCenter and Oracle-related services are stopped after rebooting.

Manually backup the Ionix ControlCenter Server, Repository, Store(s) and API Server host d ata by copying to a shared drive. %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% - Record the location of w here you backed up this fold er. It is required d uring the restore process. %RAMBBACKUPDIR% - Ionix ControlCenter Repository backup d irectory. Manually backup all of the StorageScope host d ata by copying to a shared d rive. %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% - Record the location of the backed up fold er. It is required d uring the restore process. Reports and Archives folders, if a WLA Archiver Agent is installed on this host.

%EMCSTSBACKUPDIR% - Ionix ControlCenter StorageScope Repository backup d irectory. Any custom reports that are created and im ported in StorageScope. The location of t his inform ation is user-d efined and need s to be backed up separately if it is not located und er %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%. Once this is com pleted , the Ionix ControlCenter infrastructure is backed up.
Set all EMC ControlCenter services to be Automatic.
10. Proceed w ith the installation of the upd ate bund le, start the follow ing services: OracleServiceRAMBDB OracleServiceEMCSTSDB OracleECCREP_H OMETN SListener At this point, the system is read y for the d eploym ent of the upd ate bund le.
Procedure to restore Ionix ControlCenter applica tion

N OTE: This section should be follow ed only if there is a failure d uring the installation of the Upd ate Bund le that requires storing the previous version of Ionix ControlCenter or d uring m igration of Ionix ControlCenter H osts. For Migration, refer to the Ionix ControlCenter m igration proced ure section in this d ocum ent. 1. If applicable, stop all the running Ionix ControlCenter agents that are patched to this Upd ate Bund le level using the Ionix ControlCenter Console. Uninstall any agents that are patched to this Upd ate Bund le level. Uninstall the Master Agent on each host w here the Upd ate Bund le is applied. Close the Ionix ControlCenter Console on all hosts w here it is running and then uninstall it. Stop all EMC ControlCenter and Oracle Services. Rem ove all Ionix ControlCenter application d ata from the Infrastructure host as the inform ation w ill be recovered from the backup. Ionix ControlCenter migra tion procedure

Prerequisites
Follow ing are the prerequisites for m igrating or recovering Ionix ControlCenter infrastructure: Ionix ControlCenter com ponents to be m igrated or recovered should be at version 6.1. Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 infrastructure should be at 6.1 base or any Upd ate Bund le as m entioned in Patch Overview Section. The original and new hosts m ust have the sam e Fully Qualified Domain N etw ork (FQDN ) nam e. N OTE: The m igration is lim ited for the im plementations based on DN S. Im plem entations that are not using DNS are not covered by this proced ure. Console and Perform ance Manager Migrations are not supported. If version 5.x w as installed and later upgrad ed to a higher version, ensure that the IP ad dresses on the new host m atches the old host. A quick review of the %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ d ata\ ecc_server.ini and the %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT%\ Repository\ network\ ADMIN \ listener.ora reveals the hostnames (or IP ad dresses) that are bound to the installation. If you have installed an agent host by using the IP add ress as opposed to the hostnam e, ensure to upd ate the ctg.ini and MGA.ini files. If you are using m ulti-N IC, ensure to m ap the prim ary and any add itional N IC interface to the FQDN of the original installation. Ionix ControlCenter cluster im plem entations are not supported . The target (new hard w are) host nam e should be set id entical as the source (former) host nam e w ith FQDN. Follow this proced ure before starting the installation: 1. Verify all source m achine DN S settings for both A and PTR (in -ad dr.arpa) records for hostnam e and IP add ress by executing the nslookup com mand in the DOS prom pt as show n in the follow ing screenshot:

Procedure for Scenario 1:

Ionix ControlCenter Repository and Server Migration procedure

Run Patch4887.exe Wait for the install w izard to start and follow the installation instructions to proceed . Go to %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% d irectory. a. Check if a fold er HF4887 is created. b. Perform a norm al Ionix ControlCenter backup using the follow ing proced ure: a. Review and record the local users and groups for reference. b. Login to the Ionix ControlCenter Console to verify the Ionix ControlCenter Local Users. c. Click Administration > Security Management > ECC Users.

N OTE: After m igrating or recovering, the local users should be recreated on target host to log in to Ionix ControlCenter console.

The network nam es and the DN S entries are bound to the host. If the IP ad dress has changed , then the DN S m ust be refreshed w ithin the enterprise and the router tables need to be upd ated . N OTE: If you have changed the IP ad dress, restart the agents on Solaris host w hich d oes the nam e caching. 14. Restore all the d ata from the shared dr ive on the target host, w hich includ es: %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% - The value of %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% on the new host should be set id entical as the original host. 19. Go to Wind ows registry and verify that the key "HLKM \ Softw are\ Apache Softw are Foundation" exists. 20. Repeat the step 8 to test the Cluster save/ load process. 21. Reinstall the programs that w ere uninstalled d uring step 3, if required . 22. Create the id entical local user accounts on the target host as on the source host. The passw ord can be changed for each user account on the target host. 23. Delete the H BA Managed Object (MO), if the Ionix ControlCenter Master Agent and Ionix ControlCenter H ost Agent w ere installed on the Repository or Server source host w ith H ost Bus Ad apters (H BAs) attached . 24. Red iscover the new instance of the host for the correct H BAs to be d iscovered.

Alternative procedure to migrate a Store

Follow this proced ure to m igrate a Store: 1. 2. 3. Red iscover the new instance of the host for the correct H BAs to be d iscovered. Uninstall all the instances of Ionix ControlCenter Store that is installed . Open a Console, right-click on the Store host and select D elete to rem ove it from the Ionix ControlCenter Repository. Shutd own the Ionix ControlCenter Store source host. Install the Ionix ControlCenter Store on the target host. N ote: If a java patch was previously installed on the Ionix ControlCenter Store, then reapply the patch after installation.

StorageScope Repository and Store migration procedure

1. Dow nload and unzip CC_4887.zip to a tem porary d irectory on the StorageScope Repository or Store m achine. Run Patch4887.exe Wait for the install w izard to start and follow the installation instructions to proceed . Go to %ECC_IN STALL_ROOT% d irectory. a. Check if a fold er HF4887 is created. b. Verify that the follow ing scripts and files are available in the HF4887 fold er: backup.bat LCUW_m aster_logtypes.emc LCW_UI_Init.emc regutil610.exe regutil.pl restore.bat

Verify that Perform ance Manager or Console is not installed on the StorageScope Repository source host that requires recovery or m igration.
