1984 - the year marked the beginning of "Jharkhand movement" A movement that would mark the beginning of enlightenment. Awakening, becoming alive to basic right to development. INTROD CTION
Corporate social responsibility (CSR), also known as corporate responsibility, corporate citizenship, responsible business, sustainable responsible business (SRB), or corporate social performance, is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business would monitor and ensure its support to law, ethical standards, and international norms. Consequently, business would embrace responsibility for the impact of its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore, CSR-focused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: people, planet, profit. The practice of CSR is much debated and criticized. Proponents argue that there is a strong business case for CSR, in that corporations benefit in multiple ways by operating with a perspective broader and longer than their own immediate, short-term profits. Critics argue that CSR distracts from the fundamental economic role of businesses; others argue that it is nothing more than superficial window-dressing; others yet argue that it is an attempt to pre-empt the role of governments as a watchdog over powerful multinational corporations. Corporate Social Responsibility has been redefined throughout the years. However, it essentially is titled to aid to an organization's mission as well as a guide to what the company stands for and will uphold to its consumers. Development business ethics is one of the forms of applied ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that can arise in a business environment. In the increasingly conscience -focused marketplaces of the 21st century, the demand for more ethical business processes and action is increasing. Simultaneously, pressure is applied on industry to improve business ethics through new public initiatives and laws (e.g. higher UK road tax for higher emission vehicles).
Business ethics can be both a normative and a descriptive discipline As a corporate practice and a career specialization the field is primarily normative In academia descriptive approaches are also taken The range and quantity of

business ethical issues reflects the degree to which business is perceived to be at odds with non-economic social values Historically interest in business ethics accelerated dramatically during the 1980s and 1990s, both within major corporations and within academia For example, today most major corporate websites lay emphasis on commitment to promoting non -economic social values under a variety of headings (e g ethics codes, social responsibility)

In some cases, corporations have re-branded their core values in the light of business ethical considerations (e.g. BP's "beyond petroleum"). The term "CSR" came in to common use in the early 1970s, after many multinational corporations formed, although it was seldom abbreviated. The term stakeholder, meaning those on whom an organization's activities have an impact, was used to describe corporate owners beyond shareholders.
ISO 26000 is the recognized international standard for CS (currently a Draft International Standard) Public sector organizations (the United Nations for example) adhere to the triple bottom line (TB ) It is widely accepted that CS adheres to similar principles but with no formal act of legislation The UN has developed the Principles for Responsible Investment as guidelines for investing entities

As we already come to know that CSR is all the corporate social responsibility of any organization to have its credibility, strong image and goodwill in the market of competition So here is the detailing of CSR activities of PRABHAT KHABAR:-

ENVIRONMENT RELATED

1 They run a campaign for irradiating the use of plastic from society, as it use is harmful to the environment in many ways They demonstrate the various ill effect of burning plastic as well as using it Main motto is to reduce the use of plastic to maximize possible extent and bringing in use of paper bags which are eco friendly 2 As trees act as cleaner of pollution from environment and gives fresh air to breathe and clean and healthy env ironment to live in Keeping in mind these all well effect of trees, prabhat khabar run a campaign which is still going on with the help of different schools, colleges and local helping body, planted over there 70000 plants in JHARKHAND. They try to reduce the ill effect of pollution, and make our environment pollution free. 3. As water is used carelessly by citizen, not knowing the future value of H2 .They run a campaign named PANI BACHAO in which they spread the apt utilization of H 2 in day to day life and preserving it to maximize possible intent.

HEALTH RELATED

1. PRABHAT KHABAR run a campaign in those areas which are naxel affected and doctors show unwillingness to go and serve people. Seeing this situation; they went to these areas with the pharmaceutical company and other private doctors. This is in continuation and doctors

are checking ill people in villages and medicines are being provided at free of cost or in low price. 2. Heart is the main organ of a body, if it stops beating means life stop. Keeping in view this, with the help of DR. LALIT KAPOOR , launched a campaign in JHARKHAND(RANCHI) in which 350 people availed by it free of cost check up s.

EARNESS

1. It is the right of every citizen in a society to have being well equipped with all the legal rights for them and use of those rights for betterment. So, with the legal awareness program they send the message to those people who leave in rural areas and send behind the bar for very small faults by making them aware of rights . 2. PRABHAT KHABAR also run legal awareness program for those naxalites who want to integrate with the society and leave the naxal, with the help of judge lawyers in free of cost.

RIGHTS TO INFORMATION (RTI)

RTI is a committee which provides a way and help out needs to have information regarding their issue. PRABHAT KHABAR run awareness program on RTI. Through this, they went to make people known that they may be cheated in any field of information regarding their issue. As a result of this government appreciated this act of PRABHAT KHABAR and awarded it with best informer among all the other newspaper. With regard to this, PRABHAT KHABAR run a program on RTI titled ghoos ko ghoosa in collaboration with NDTV. This dealt with that institution, which are not provided apt. information to the needy or fault information and cheating the citizen. Due to this many many falters were being punished.

 CRIME RELATED
Truly proving the logo of PRABHAT KHABAR i.e., AKHBAR NAHI ANDOLAN means not only news of daily means but different other

news which bring great change in life of society. With the view of reducing the ill effect of crime, they disclosed scams like Chara Ghotala, corruption in which many culprits bring disposed and bring punished for their act.

 HELPING HAND
1. For area affected by natural calamity or hazard, PRABHAT KHABAR took initiative always for uplifment of affected ones. In 1993, affected area in Palamu dist. They provide all the possible news ties to the needy for rehabilitation of their life. 2. PRABHAT KHABAR also accumulated fund for rehabi litation of Tsunami affected area for batter settlement of life of effected people and deposited the fund collection in Pradhanmantri Rahat Kosh 3. PRABHAT KAHBAR joined hand with Ramkrishna mission to help people affected by flood in Koshi.

 FOR ENMLOYEES
1. Firstly creating favorable working environment for their employees who give better output for society in form of news and other activities. 2. Providing group insurance, medic claim of 1 to 3 lacks, provident fund and many more facility for their employees and encouraging them for batter work performance. Keeping in view their health and other facilities. 3. Monthly health checkup camping for their employees. 4. Giving no tension working environment for fluent efficient and effective working condition for best output, which results well effect for both the employees and society as well.

CONCLUSION
As going through the project, whole project work can be concluded through following points:-

 PRABHAT KHABAR already no.1 established local daily having strong foot in market not nationally.  Did many environment related work for eradicating pollution, health related programs and will doing.  Provide various bonus, compensation and medic clams facility.  Providing free and friendly working environment for employees.  Reduce price by facing competition but provide accurate news and apt. on current topic, youth oriented and find as per their facts of reading.  As per employee, work load is ore and salary is less then other newspaper.  Doing so many things on rural areas like awareness about health,Crime and providing health camps.  Running strong revolution on politician corruption and aware people about their rights.  Running many environmental friendly works for securing future of next generation like plantation, say no to plastic bags . Etc.

SUGGESTION
 As we all know PRABHAT KHABAR is no.1 in local daily, it s not national brand, if any ill effect comes on its part in Ranchi it will effect PRABHAT KHABAR as a whole. So, it has to expand its branches in other cities for expanding their growth.  Work load on individual performance must be reduce and good salary should be provided aptly at time.

 many news paper doing as same social work as doing prabhat khaba r So, they have to do something new to attract more attraction of common people.

FINDINGS

As Prabhat Khabar has already taken no.1 position in local daily newspaper. Going through the project work following findings come out:-

 It provides aptly and accurate information to their readers it provides different supplement on various current topics, youth oriented and kids keeping in view the fast and preference of reader.  Because of competition to remain in market, prabhat khabar reduce its price up to Rs. 2 as earlier it said having loss incurred of Rs.8 on per paper when the price was Rs.3.50  Run different health programs, environment related programs for the betterment of society and employee  Disclose many scam and provides help in reducing crime and corruption  Providing various insurance and medic claim to employees up to Rs.3 lacks  Various games shows and provides goods at cheaper rat for prabhat khabar readers
