Servo Ventilator 900C. When confidence matters most.

Servo Ventilator 900C - the ventilator that our competitors try to match

The Servo Ventilator 900C is an advanced electronic ventilator for everyday hospital use. Because of its sophistication it can be used as an almost limitless tool in providing ventilator treatment for almost any patient. The Servo Ventilator 900C can be used in intensive care and patient transportation, for adults, infants and

pediatric patients. It can also be used during Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations. When equipped with accessories, the Servo Ventilator 900C is the heart of an extensive anesthesia system. The Servo Ventilator 900C is also an excellent ventilator for clinical research.

Unique Servo Feedback Control System, sensitive to patient changes

The brain of the Servo Ventilator 900C is the unique Servo Control System. Even if the resistance and compliance in the patients lungs and airways change, set parameters are maintained as preset. Sensors in the patient gas delivery circuit give Information back to the servo controlled valves. Even the smallest deviations from the set values are sensed, fed back to the servo controlled valves and compensated for. Pressure and flow are continuously measured, compared and regulated several hundred times a second. Thus the Servo Feedback Control System gives the patient exactly the ventilation you have chosen.

Eight different ventilation modes

The Servo Ventilator 900C has 8 different ventilation modes: Volume Control Volume Control with sigh Pressure Control Pressure Support SIMV (Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation) SIMV + Pressure Support CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) Manual Ventilation

Volume Control - set values are delivered

In Volume Controlled Ventilation the inspiratory flow is kept constant as preset by the Servo Control System. As a result the tidal volume also is delivered as preset, and inspiratory time and pause time are maintained as preset.

Pressure Control - efficient ventilation with low pressure

Pressure Control is a unique mode of the Servo Ventilator. By maintaining preset airway pressure constant throughout the entire inspiratory period, the Servo Ventilator delivers the tidal volume using a lower pressure level than traditional controlled ventilation. Pressure Control ventilation with a constant inspiratory pressure gives you a decelerating flow with the major part of the tidal volume delivered in the beginning of the inspiration and thus prolonged time for gas exchange in the alveoli.

This means that even the most peripheral lung regions can be opened and kept open, improving ventilation distribution and at the same time reducing the risk of barotrauma.

Pressure Support - a standard mode for weaning

In 1981 the Servo Ventilator 900C was the first veritilator to introduce Pressure Support Ventilation. It has since then become a standard in the support and weaning of patients. Pressure Support is a spontaneous mode, where the patient controls tidal volume, frequency and inspiratory time while the Servo Control System maintains the pressure support level.

Ventilate the lungs independently

In the case of unilateral lung pathology, or uneven bilateral lung disease, ventilating the lungs differently can give considerable advantages. Two Servo Ventilators can easily be synchronized to provide Independent Lung Ventilation (ILV). By setting the parameters independently on the two ventilators, each lung is ventilated independently of the other.

Keep lungs open with Pressure Control and Inverse I:E ratio
Pressure Controlled Ventilation together with Inverse I:E ratio is used to improve gas exchange and to prevent alveoli from collapsing during expiration. Using the inspiration time and pause time controls, the I:E ratio can be set from 1:4 to 4:1. In all modes of ventilation you can easily measure intrinsic PEEP during ventilation in progress, using the Airway Pressure meter while pressing the Expiratory Pause Hold button. In this way you have control over your patlents end expiratory lung pressure.

Extensive monitoring
The Servo Ventilator 900C has extensive analog and digital outputs, allowing the monitoring of vital parameters. The Servo Ventilator can easily be expanded with monitoring accessories. The Servo Screen 390 is an add-on feature aimed as a monitoring system for visua feedback and continuous assessment of a patients condition. The screen includes all displayed and indicated information from monitored ventilatory parameters, gas concentrations, alarms and optional functions integrated within the system. Curves, loops, trends - all can be optimized to your requirements. There are even comprehensive raference files for your review. The Servo Screen 390 works together with the following equipment to establish an integrated systems concept: SV 90OC/E together with Servo Computer Modu a 990. CO2 Analyzer 930 via SCM 990.

User support material

We have created an extensive training program for the Servo Ventilator 900C. A clear and consistent operating manual, a self-instruction book, a number of videos and slides as well as Servo Library booklets with clinical information are just a part of an extensive range of software for optimal respiratory treatment.

Safe and reliable

The Servo Ventilator 900 is one of the most reliable ventilators on the market. With more than 45,000 units installed all over the world, the Servo Ventilator is the most widely used ventilator in its class. Many of these ventilators have been in use for over a decade and are stilI in daily clinical use. One of the reasons for its safety and reliability is that it is designed and produced to meet applicable national and international manufacturing (GMP) and product standards, such as IEC 601-1, Deutsches lnstitut fr Normung (DIN), Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The Servo Ventilator family

Due to the Servo Ventilators success in treating even the most difficult patients, they have become the ventilators of choice for the professional health care community. With their proven track record in performance and reliability they have become an international symbol of quality.
