Explore Tires Human Resource Trainee Program

The HR Trainee Program is offered at Continentals Tire division in the USA, Brazil, Malaysia, China, India, Romania and Germany.

The global HR Trainee Program offers you an unique working experience at Continentals Tire division. As a member of the HR Trainee Program you will be part of a multi-cultural business team and gain a holistic picture of the professional world of HR. In 18 months you will have the opportunity to shape your own training initiatives and chart your own journey of discovery through the HR world of Continental guided by experienced colleagues, experts and mentors. During your HR Trainee Program you will work on challenging project assignments which will enhance your knowledge and soft skills. Visits to customers, suppliers and other Continental facilities will provide you with a sound understanding of market and plant perspectives which are key components of the overall business process. You will be able to build a personal network and make a big step forward towards a successful career as a HR generalist in a global company. A step-by-step-guide Step 1: Introduction The HR Trainee Program starts in Hanover with a welcome week. Together with the other members of the HR Trainee Program you will take the first step of your HR Trainee Program. In teambuilding activities and trainings you will have the chance to learn about professional HR project management and enhance your personal network by connecting to major stakeholders of the organization. Step 2: Home location After the introduction week you will spend six months at your home location. As a part of an interdisciplinary HR team, you will complete HR business partner assignments and group assignments all addressing current topics in the HR Tire business. You will help drawing up your own training plan to equip you with the necessary know-how in the field of HR and major business processes of internal HR customers. The home location project is complemented with soft skill and basic business trainings to sharpen your professional, methodical as well as communication skills.

Step 3: Central function During your three months central function project at one of our regional Tires headquarters in Hanover (Germany), Charlotte (USA) or Shanghai (China) you are able to apply and expand your HR skills while working on challenging HR topics. Your stay will be supplemented with expert trainings in major HR fields like Employer Branding & Recruiting, Human Resource Development, Compensation & Benefits, International Assignments, Human Resource Controlling etc. Step 4: Plant / Market During this step you will be working in the HR department of one of our worldwide Tire plants or market organizations. In three months you will gain a holistic business picture by having the opportunity of getting to know modern production techniques in one of Continentals Tire plants or become acquainted with sales activities at one of Continentals market organizations. At your plant or market stay you will also work on challenging business partner assignments and group assignments. Step 5: Home location and final placement In order to guarantee a smooth start into your future HR function you will spend the last six months of your HR Trainee Program at your home location. The major development focus will be on on-thejob trainings to gain final practical experiences for the upcoming job placement. At the end of the 18-months program you will be up to speed on organizational structures as well as HR processes and products at Continentals Tire division and you will have begun to form a broad personal network. Your profile You are an university graduate with a Bachelor or Master degree in business, economics, psychology, social sciences or similar You have excellent English language skills You have already practical experience through internships You have international experience (study abroad or internship) You are driven by passion and have strong interpersonal- as well as communication skills.
