Prayer is the most powerful weapon on earth.

Let us be committed to pray for our family, our church, and our nation. In Deuteronomy 7:9, God said, Know therefore that the Lord your God; He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments . Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know . Jeremiah 33:3

Week 1 This week, let us ask God to help us to grow spiritually. Physical growth and maturity are vitally important for children, and spiritual growth should be just as essential for Christians. Let us look at five requirements for growth. They are birth, food, exercise, environment and time.

Day 1 (Date: 6 November 2010) 1.BIRTH What will happen if a baby just stay in the womb until it matured into adulthood? Is that possible? A baby will never reach maturity until it is born. Let us compare that to our spiritual life. A human life will never reach maturity until after he or she has experienced the new birth. No one can grow as a child of God unless they've been born again! In John 3:3, Jesus said to Nicodemus - "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." No human being can mature spiritually as God would have him too until they obey the gospel and are born again. Have you ever heard someone say: "I'm a born-again Christian"? Rather redundant, isn't it? Think about it: What other kind is there? In order to be a Christian, one must be born again! If you carefully study John 3, you will learn that being born again is accomplished through baptism. Interestingly, a human is called a "babe" after it is born again (I Pet. 2:1 -3). Have you been born again? Have you repented, confessed Christ, and been baptized for the forgiveness of your sins? If you re a born-again Christian, let us thank Christ for His salvation.

Day 2 (Date:_______________) 2. FOOD How many meals do you eat a day? Yes, without food for the body, we cannot grow. Most Malaysians eat three meals a day. But, how many Christians read the Bible every day? Do you just read the Bible when you re in church? Is that the only time your Bib le gets opened. A person who does not eat proper meals will get sick. So do Christians who do not read the Bible. A person who has no appetite for the word of God is an individual who is spiritually sick. Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone , buy by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matt. 4:4) This means that the Bible is spiritual food. Have you seen sickly and malnourished physical children or adults? Christians, for some reason or another, are also sickly and malnourished if they do not eating spiritual food properly. The Bible is there, in print and even on internet, but why aren t people are reading God s words. Let us pray that people will hunger for God s words. Let us pray that Christians will read God s words diligently. Let us pray that Christians in Kolej DPAH Abdillah will commit themselves to read a chapter of God s words every day. Disciples of Jesus should study and meditate upon the Scriptures every day.

Day 3 (______________) 3. Exercise Do you exercise frequently? We need to exercise to grow physically and spiritually. The old saying is definitely true: "What you don't use, you lose!" When our physical muscles are not exercised and used, they become weak. The same is true spiritually. Consider I Timothy 4:7 - "...exercise yourself toward godliness." In Galatians 5:6, we learn that the Christian life is a life of "faith working through love." In fact, we are workers together with God (II Cor. 6:1). We also need to realize that we learn by doing. A baby learns to talk by talking and to walk by walking. We learn to sing by singing, pray by praying, preach by preaching, and win souls by winning souls. God has prepared good works for us to exercise ourselves spiritually (Eph. 2:10). The question is: Ar e you exercising yourself spiritually?

Tick if you have done the following activities. o o o o o o Study the Bible Pray to Jesus Visit the sick (your relatives, friends etc) Share the love of Jesus with friends, relatives etc. Encourage the faint-hearted If you are active doing the above activities, you will become stronger as a Christian.

Activity strengthens, but inactivity weakens. Additionally, James 2:18 states that we show our faith by our works. Thus, if you're not doing much work for the Lord, then evidentl y you have little faith. Let us pray to God that we will exercise ourselves spiritually. Yes, let us share the gift of everlasting life with our family members and friends.

Day 4 (______________) 4. Environment The fourth requirement for growth is a suitable environment. Those who have household plants know that certain plants do better in different types of environments. Some plants like lots of sunlight but others don't. Some need lots of water while others req uire very little. Having a proper spiritual environment is also very important if we are going to grow as God expects us to. I Corinthians 15:33 teaches - "Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'" That was Paul's warning nearly two thousand years ago. It was true then and it is still true today. We become like those we hang around and spend time with. If we're spending time with worldly people, and if we're not exceedingly careful, we will begin to act like worldly people ourselves. We will stop growing and perhaps even fall from the faith. This truth is most obvious in the lives of teenagers. Everyone has heard about peer pressure and you've likely experienced it firsthand. Peer pressure isn't always bad. For example, as Christians we can pressure each other and encourage each other to live godly lives. More often though, peer pressure works negatively. Peer pressure often leads to teenage drinking, sex before marriage, illegal drug use, and a host of other sins. God has warned us not to be deceived, however. Don't trick yourself into thinking: "It won't happen to me. It doesn't really matter if I hang out with these people who are living immorally because I'm strong and they won't influence me to commit evil." Wrong!
3

We must place ourselves into good, wholesome, spiritual environments. Let us dwell on those things mentioned in Philippians 4:8 - "Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things." If we put ourselves into an environment like Paul described, we will be better prepared to grow spiritually. What type of environment are you living in spiritually? Is it one that promotes godliness or worldliness? Let us pray that teenagers shall say NO, NO, NO to drugs, sex before marriage, gambling and drinking. Let us pray the teenagers will be wise to be in a praiseworthy environment. Let the teenagers especially Christians to love things that are true, noble, just, pure and lovely.

Day 5 (__________________) 5. TIME Neither a baby nor a Christian is born full grown. It takes time for the growth and development of both. This realization should be encouraging to recent converts of Christ in that they should realize that once they come to Christ, they won't automatically understand everything and be a mature Christian. But, if they continually feed on God's word after becoming a Christian, remain free from sin and evil influences, and exercise themselves unto good works, they will grow and mature over time. However, there should be a certain realization of fear implied in this principle. All healthy physical babies develop and mature into adulthood. All healthy Christians grow and develop into teachers of the gospel (cf. Heb. 5:12 -14). If you've been a Christian for some time and haven't made any progress spiritually in regards to your knowledge and your spiritual maturity, then you're obviously unhealthy. We know that if a child is not growing then there is something wrong, and we must realize the same is true spiritually for children of God. But, how can one know if he is really becoming more spiritually mature? If we are adding the Christian graces to our life (found in II Pet. 1) and the fruit of the Spirit (found in Gal. 5), then we are growing. Spiritual growth is gradual, but it won't happen if we don't put forth the effort. We can't just sit in the pews and expect ourselves to grow. If we just hope it will happen we'll end up squandering a great deal of time and ability that could have been used for the Lord. The Lord demands that we grow and work for Him. If you are content with where you're at right now spiritually, you've got a big problem (cf. Matt. 25:14 -30). Regardless of where you're at spiritually, you must keep on growing! Let us look back into our past (le t's say one year ago) and then look at the present. Where are we spiritually? Are we closer to God this year? Have you slipped some? Have you been growing spiritually or have you been stagnating or even losing ground?

Let us think on the above things, and act accordingly!

Day 6 (_____________) Pray for family members Let us praise God that we have prayed for five days for our spiritual growth. Today, let us pray for our family members who have not accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour. Let us ask God to set their spirits free so that they may freely accept the love of Jesus. Let us pray that we will be courageous to witness the love of Jesus to our parents, brothers, sisters and friends.

Day 7 (_______________) Keep learning to know JESUS. Today, we will pray for the students in Kolej DPAH Abdillah. We pray that God will help us to keep learning every day of our lives, to know Jesus more and more, and to love Him more and more. Let us be aware of Jesus s presence in our lives. We pray that we shall love the Lord fervently. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart (Deuteronomy 6:5-6). Let us read the above verse again. This time, read slowly. What stands out in your mind as you meditate on those words? All all all Such repetition emphasizes totality. So our love for God is total not partial; Our love for God must be complete.

Week 2 Day 8 (____________________) Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. This week, let us ask God for the RIGHT ATTITUDE. God wants us to love and have a good relationship with the older generation our grandparents, parents, uncles, aunties, teachers, pastors and so on. Sometimes this can be hard because they are different from you in how they think and talk.

Let us pray to God to change how we feel and think about them let s do what He says love one another. Yes, and that inclu des the not so loving older relatives.

to

Day 9 (____________________) Forgive. You will forgive anyone who has made you angry or sad. In Matthew 6: 14 , it says For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Again in Matthew 5:43 -48, we are taught to love our enemies

You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor [g] and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, [h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren [i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors [j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

43

Who has made you angry or sad? Can you think of anyone? Why did he or she make you feel like that? Tell God how you feel. Ask God to help you stop wanting the person to pay for what he/she has done to you. God has forgiven all the wrong things you ve done. You must also forgive the person.

Day 10 (______________) Pray for forgiveness. Ask God to reveal moments where you have offended people which you re not aware of. Then, make amends. Let us pray for our country. Pray for the First People: Orang Asli -That God will forgive us for the injustices towards them and they be given due recognition. Raising leaders among them and believers to be strengthened and rooted in the Word. Pray for the release of money, resources and manpower in church -planting to the least-reached tribes.

Day 11 (_________________) Fasting to Be Seen Only by God

Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Do you have a heart that wants to please God? Why do we fast? We fast because we want to pray for something that is important. Are you willing to pray and fast over what HE cares about? When you fast, what will you be fasting from? Normally, fasting means not taking any food or water. You don t have to skip all your meals if you re not sure whether you can make it. Do you want to fast from breakfast? Or you could decide to skip your recess in school, or maybe lunch. What if I don t want to skip any meals? Is there any other way to fast? Yes there is! You can also fast by giving up something you enjoy or like to do. It could be watching TV, or playing computer games, or listening to your I-pod. It could be just about anything as long as it is something that you really like and decide to give up for 40 days.

16

Day 12 Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

19

God gives us talents and richness in lives. How we use our talents, time and wealth will indicate how much we love Jesus. We all have 24 hours per day. How we use our time will
7

also indicate how much we love Jesus. Jesus said, Your heart will always be where your treasure is. If your treasure is in the bank, or anywhere else on earth, you ll be forever worrying about it; but if you use it in love to the glory of God you ll be putting it in heave; and your heart, following it there, will find the peace and happiness which only Heaven can give. Pray for the repentance of our disobedience as we may have place materialism, self, status, success and idols more important than Jesus. Let us pray to God that we put Jesus in the centre of our hearts and will lay up ourselves treasures in Heaven.

Day 13 Pray God s righteousness and justice to be in all government and private sectors. Pray for wisdom for our Prime Minister, DPM and Cabinet ministers to govern the nation in the fear of God. Pray for continual peace, stability, freedom of worship, harmony and prosperity.

Day 14 (_______________) Do Good to Please God Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. (Matthew 6:1)
1

Pray that we will do good to please God not to please men or show off. If you give to others, Jesus said, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.

Day 15 (_____________) And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. [b] 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
5

Christianity is a relationship with Jesus. First of all, Jesus said, they shouldn t pray just so other people would think they were good and holy people, Long, loud prayers in public aren t prayers at all. They don t reach heaven. God doesn t hear them. Second, we talk to Jesus just like we talk to our friends. Don t feel you must keep saying the same words over and over. Just talk as you would to a friend.

Day 16 (______________) Believers Are Salt and Light

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

13

Pray to God to reorder your life, family, church and nation, putting our priorities and relationships right. Confess where you have failed to be the salt and light, and ask Jesus to correctly order the priorities in your life and ministry.

Day 17 (______________) Adultery in the Heart

27

You have heard that it was said to those of old, [c] You shall not commit adultery. [d] 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, p luck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Pray for protection for our teenagers and youths against all perversion and distortion of relationships and marriages such as pre-marital sex, same-sex marriages, co-habitation and fornication. Pray for godly couples who will be good role models to the younger generation.

Day 18 (_______________) Marriage Is Sacred and Binding

Furthermore it has been said, Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce. 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality[e] causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

31

Pray against all assignments of the Enemy to break down marriages; for protection for all marriages. Pray for the marriages of your parents, pastor, elder and leaders.

Day 19 (____________) Ask God to heal all wounded and damaged child and youth who are emotionally and spiritually crippled by words spoken over them by their parents, r elatives, spiritual leaders, teachers or others. Break every lie and curse upon their lives.

10

Day 20 (_____________) Matthew 7:24-27; Luke 6:47-49 Pray that youth and children will be deeply rooted in God s love and in the Word so that they will find their identity and security in Jesus and fulfil His calling and destiny. Those who made up their minds to follow Jesus s teaching and let the love of God fill their hearts and rule their lives, were like a wise person who built a house on solid rock . On the other hand, those who refused to heed His teachings and decided to go on living the same old life, with all its selfishness and hate, were like a foolish person who built a house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded, and the winds blew and beat against that house. Finally, it fell with a crash.

Day 21 (_____________) John 15 The True Vine I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; [a] and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spok en to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will [b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. Pray that God will raise up prophetic generations in all age groups, who are deeply rooted in God s love to release His Word in season to turn the tide of evil for spiritual breakthrough and transformation of the nation.
1

11

Day 22 (_______________) The World s Hatred John18-27 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name s sake, because the y do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated Me without a cause. [c]
18

The Coming Rejection

But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

26

Pray that God will position godly believers in high places of authority to be His prophetic voice to influence decisions and policies in state affairs . Day 23 (__________ ______) Pray for pastors and leaders to discern their members strength and gifting: to encourage, affirm, equip and empower them to serve and to position them according to their gift and calling.

Day 24 (_______________) Matthew 7:1-6 Do Not Judge Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you
12
1

look at the speck in your brother s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me remove the speck from your eye ; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother s eye. 6 Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Day 25 (_____________) Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for b read, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. To have a good attitude in school and at home is a good way to allow non -believers to see who your God is. Pray to God that you will follow Jesus closely in yo ur life.

Day 26 (____________) When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. 12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying? 13 But He answered and said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind le aders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch. 15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, Explain this parable to us. 16 So Jesus said, Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For
13
10

out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.

Pray that we will understand God s words better. Pray that the Holy Spirit guide us and shine upon us so that we will interpret God s words correctly. Pray that we will share God s love with people who do not know Him.

Day 27 (_______________) A Gentile Shows Her Faith

Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon -possessed. 23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us. 24 But He answered and said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then she came and worshiped Him, sayin g, Lord, help me! 26 But He answered and said, It is not good to take the children s bread and throw it to the little dogs. 27 And she said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

21

Pray that our Father of light will shine His everlasting light to illuminate hearts of those who have not accepted Jesus with the Truth. Pray that our Lord Jesus reveals Himself to them.

14

Day 28 (________________) Jesus Heals Great Multitudes

Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus feet, and He healed them. 31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

29

Pray for your spiritual leader as often as you are led, preferably daily. Thank God for pastors, elders, spiritual leaders for their sacrifices to obey the call of God in their lives. Renewing of their passion and intimacy with the Lord. Strengthening of their relationship with their spouses and children.

Day 29 (___________) A Boy Is Healed

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic [c] and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, Why could we not cast it ou t? 20 So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; [d] for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you wi ll say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. [e]

14

Pray for healing and good health for yourself and your family members.

15

Day 30 (__________) Jesus Predicts Peter s Denial

Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, [d] for it is written:

27

I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered.

28

[e]

But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee. Peter said to Him, Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be. 30 Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times. 31 But he spoke more vehemently, If I have to die with You, I will not deny You! And they all said likewise.
29

Pray for support and strong relationship between shepherd and sheep. Pray that we shall stand strong. Thank the Lord for unity among all denominations that they will continue to stand together as ONE mighty force and voice for the nation. Bless all the spiritual heads of each denomination for greater wisdom and anointing to prepare and empower their churches for what is to come. Pray for one heart with a united vision and purpose to b uild God s kingdom. Pray for a strong network of churches in united effort in sharing resources and manpower in community projects to reach out to the lost. Pray specifically for the people in your kampong, town and state.

16

Day 31 (_______________) How deep is your root in Christ? Do you have difficulty in communicating with yo7uths and young adults? Appreciation of the Mystery

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

14

Pray for powerful student movement among Christian youths . Raising up a band of witnesses to champion Christ in schools, colleges, vocational schools and universities. Establishing strong Christian fellowships and prayer cells. Ask the Lord to raise Christian student leaders in schools, colleges, universities...with burden to reach out to our neighbours in boldness and faith to see them come to new life in Christ.

Day 32 (_________) The Cheerful Giver 2 Corinthians 9:6 -9 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:
6

He has dispersed abroad,

17

He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.

[b]

A Joshua Generation The Israelites who were brought out of Egypt were brought to the land God promised them. But when God wanted to give the land to them, what did they do? They complained and said it was impossible! God was very angry and did not allow them to have the land. Instead, He let them wander around in the desert until they were old and died. However, God remembered His promise to their great-great-great...grandfathers, to make them a strong people. So, God continued with His promise...and waited for the younger generation to grow up and take the land. Now, only the younger generation could have what God had promised. The older generation could ...except two people. Do you still remember the 12 spies who were sent to look at the Promised Land? Ten of them came back and said it was impossible, that the enemy was so big they felt like grasshoppers! But there were two spies who were different...do you know what their names are? Joshua and Caleb! Joshua and Caleb were not like their other ten friends. Their ten friends said, No, it s impossible! We can t beat the enemy! But Joshua and Caleb said the exact opposite! They said, No, we can definitely do it! Let s go in and beat the enemy! Why did they say that? Why were they not afraid of the giants in the Promised Land? The answer is this: They could see someone much bigger and more awesome that the giants in the Promised Land. They could see God! God was the One who brought them out of Egypt. God was the One who opened up the Red Sea for them. God was the One who appeared to them in a pillar of fire. Can you imagine a pillar of fire near you? God showed them how awesome He was, so their eyes were looking at God! They were different from everyone else because knew where to look. This is a very important lesson to learn. Look at the right thing! If you look at God - you will feel very brave! But if you look at your problem - you will feel very scared! So remember this: Every time you see a problem...don t look at it, look at God! I f God is with you, who can beat you?

In the end, Joshua and Caleb received everything God had promised -because they looked at God.

Can you guess what this is?

Day 33 (__________ ) If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:31b

For the next seven days, we are going to pray for important things in Malaysia. Let us be like Joshua and Caleb who looked at God and not the problem. When we do this, God will move with us! Pray: Christian students will be a good influence In school, Christian students meet many friends who are not Christians. Some of them may be rude, or make fun of their friends. Christian students should remember what God has taught them-to be good to others and respect those older than them. Rather than following their friends in doing the wrong things, they should do what is right. This will help heir friends do the right thing. Just like Joshua and Caleb, Christians in school don t have to follow others if they are wrong they can be different and do right! Do you find it hard to do the right thing? Do your friends laugh at you don t want to join them? Tell God how you feel. Ask God to help you do the right thing. It is better to please God than to please others. Do you have any Christian friend in school who find it hard to do the right thing? Think of one person. Write his/her name here: __________________________ Ask God to help this person do the right thing. Proverbs 3: 25-35 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26

for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
19

27

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow" when you now have it with you. Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you. Do not accuse a man for no reaso n when he has done you no harm. Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence. The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. The wise inherit honor, but fools he holds up to shame.

Day 34 (_______________) The Christian Teachers Pray: There will be more Christian teachers in school who will serve Him. Psalm 15 A psalm of David.
1

LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart

20

and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

There are not many Christian teachers in school now. Schools in Malaysia need Christian teachers to tell students about God, and to teach them values God is pleased with. Christian students also need Christian teachers to encourage them to be a good influence in school. Do you know any Christian teachers in your school? Write their names here: _____________________ ___________________________________________ Ask God to give these teachers a big heart to serve Him. Also ask God to give these teachers wisdom to know how to help and care for studen ts.

Day 35 (________________) The Internet Pray: Christians will be a good influence on the internet. Most young people surf the Internet daily and they are influenced by many different things. The internet needs more Christians who are able to post cre ative, fun and interesting things that will teach young people godly values! Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
21

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Day 36 (_______________) Television, Music and The Cinema Pray: Christians will make a positive difference in television, music and the cinema. Television, music and the cinema powerfully influence many people, young or old. More Christians are needed to come up with programmes, movies and music that that have godly values so they would be a good example and influence on people everywhere! Thank God that He is very creative, and is able to bless Christians with awesome skills! Pray that He will provide Christians with talents and ideas to make a difference in television, music and the cinema. Also, pray that God will open a way for Christians to go into these areas. Guide our hearts from negative influence, but promote God s values. Psalms 18:30-33 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
31

For who is God besides the LORD ? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

Day 37 (_________________) National Service Pray: National Service will help younger people love the country and love one another. Teenagers who are 17 years old are chosen by the government to train at National Service camps. At these camps, the teens learn how to love the country and to get along with teens of other races. Pray that God will use the National Service to help change the younger generation so they will be thankful for Malaysia and one another. Also pray that they will be safe at the National Service camps. Sometimes accidents and problems happen. Psalm 19:14
14

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer

Day 38 (______________) Youths in Sabah and Sarawak Pray: God will protect the Bumiputera Christian youths in Sabah & Sarawak from being influenced by other religions. Proverbs 3:1-4 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2

for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

23

There are people asking Bumiputera Christian youths in Sabah & Sarawak to change religions. They need our prayers to be strong Christians and to know God s Word well. Also pray that other Christians will encourage them and be a good example to them. Let us stand by our Bumiputera Christian youth s and pray for God to work mightily among them! Let us pray that our Bumiputera Chrisitan youths will not forget God s teaching but keep His commands in their hearts.

Day 39 (______________) Pray: Christians in Malaysia will be thankful to God for the ir wealth and serve God with it. Proverbs 3:5-10 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6

in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

[a]

10

then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

In the Bible, God says that when we are rich, we should not be proud and forget Him. We should not think that we have achieved our wealth with our own strength and cleverness. This is because although we work hard for our wealth, it is God who allows us to become rich. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful. It is important to thank God for His blessing!

Pray that Christians who are blessed with wealth will be thankful to God and not be proud. Also pray that they will put God first and serve Him with the wealth God blesses them with.

24

Day 40 (_______________) Let us pray that God will bless Malaysia with peace and prosperity. Let us pray for godly leaders to rule our country wisely. Let us pray that our leaders have the rakyat in their hearts. Let us pray that development shall be balanced so that our generations and future generations shall still enjoy clean air, clear sky, fresh waters, green mountains and dense jungles. Psalm 23 A psalm of David.
1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
