PENETRANT INSPECTION CALIBRATION FORM


Complete this form at the beginning of each shift when processing the PSM-5/KDS-11 test panel. Paragraph references for the system calibration pertain to and are derived from Liquid Penetrant Testing Procedure. When using a level 3 (high) sensitivity penetrant, a minimum of 4 indications need to be evident on the PSM-5/KDS-11 test panel to consider the system calibrated. When using a level 2 (medium) sensitivity penetrant, a minimum of 3 indications need to be evident on the PSM-5/KDS-11 test panel to consider the system calibrated.

KDS-11 working test panel shall be processed at the beginning of each shift when the penetrant area is used and compared to a test panel processed in new penetrant (or picture of same). Panels shall be cleaned and stored in solvent after use. ( 3.7.4) 15. Penetrant inspection area shall be free of florescent contamination that could interfere with the interpretation or cause contamination of parts to be inspected ( 3.4.5) 16. All gages and meters used in the penetrant inspection area shall be in good working order and calibrated at proper intervals or whenever accuracy is questioned. 14.1. (Water pressure and temperature gages, timers and light meters, drying oven) 17. Suitable magnification (7X) and measurement tool shall be available in the work station to interpret and measure indications. ( 3.7.9) 18. Bleed back equipment, solvent, and D-100 developer shall be available in the inspection booth. ( 3.7.9) 19. Current customer and applicable specification criteria is available at the work station and concurs with applicable production router.
