This document is based on my personal experiences installing OES. I am writing this document to primarily help new users install OES. For detailed information (including production deployments) refer to OES Installation Guide.

Before You Start

For running OES I use Linux (OEL/RHEL/Red Hat Enterprise Linux) Virtual Box VM Image. Much of this information will also apply to other supported configurations. Before you get started read this blog post and make sure that you have the right hardware.

Worksheet
OES 11g uses a five step installation process which is similar to many of Oracles products. The following worksheet should help you track different pieces of installation and configuration data. If you are a new user, I strongly recommend that you copy/paste this table into Excel or some other spreadsheet and record each value.
