1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 HISTORY OF SIWES

The student industrial work experience scheme(SIWES) is a skill training programme, designed for students of technology based and practical or internal programme of institutions of higher learning , which includes polytechnics, colleges of education and universities in order to meet the demands of the employers of labor. The schemes became fully effective in 1985, it had been managed by the industrial training fund and funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

1.2 WHAT IS SIWES

The four -months supervised industrial attachment is referred to as student Industrial Work Experience Scheme. It is a post ND1 industrial training programme. DEDICATION I dedicated this report to my creator, the author and finisher of my faith for His protection throughout my SIWES proggramme. To my parents, MR & MRS ADEGBILE, and to all my well wishers.

CHAPTER THREE 3.0 EXPERIENCE AND CHALLENGES

3.1 EXPERIENCE

I gained a lot of experience in web development , I was taught how to blend colors when designing. I learnt how to create a user form using java language and php which is a web language. Asides the academic knowledge, I also learnt some customer retention skill and how to attend to customers in the best manner.

3.2 CHALLENGES

I faced many challenges but with the help of God I scaled through it. The first challenges I faced was the power supply, nothing ccould be done until 12.00pm when they on the school generator and they off by 4.00pm. The company does not have a generator of its own which caused delay some time. Another challenges I faced was coding, I could spend a week debugging i.e checking errors in a program. There is too much boss which caused many problems, imagin three boss sending someone on an errand at the same time.

CHAPTER FOUR 4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSION

4.1 RECOMMENDATIONS

With all the problems associated with SIWES, it is strongly believed that this recommendation if well improved on will go a long way in solving the problems associated with I.T and it will ensure proper relevance of I.T in todays world. Supervisors from school should visit students at their various post to boost their morale and interest with their employers. That the pre and post IT seminar should be organized for students to understand proper situation of things in their IT places. That government should ensure that strike is totally eliminated in our tertiary education system and that I.T period is not unnecessary shorten and aborted by universities calendar. That government should ensure that ITF live up to expectations of the students and institutions.

4.2 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, Student Industrial Training Work Experience Scheme brings the hidden potential that cannot be revealed in every individual student. I am very grateful to I.T for making Industrial practice part of our scheme. I am now a better computer scientist.

CHAPTER TWO 2.0 WORK EXPERIENCE

My SIWES During the period of my SIWES I was able to design a static website. Creating a form was easy for me. I used HTML IDE (Integrated Development Environment) used in designing a web, it generates html codes when designing. This macromedia Dreamweaver is also used in creating a form which I did during the training. In designing a web
