The book is not a study of effective management but its more like a travelogue of one persons discovery of interesting places and practices in the leadership landscape. When we highlight the author of this book itself, he is an American investment banker, executive advisor, writer, speaker, entrepreneur and leadership innovator. From his professional career and experiences, he has written a powerful guide to help transform ordinary leaders into extraordinary ones at a time when the business and professional world and our country is in dire need of excellence and integrity in leadership. In today's environment, the need for innovation, creativity is generally recognized as dominant in most organizations. The organization must be able to cope with the current situation just to survive. My personal take on this matter is once you are a leader, most of the responsibility is on your shoulder in every single decesion that you make and all the focus will be on you. A great leader must think two steps forward and every decision you make would generates, creates a new move and fresh ideas. The keyword here is, creative and innovative. On these issues, the author gave several guidelines and useful tips that is, until a leader achieves personal empowerment and fulfilment he cannot become a high-impact leader. This is some highimpact leader major components; build a value-based core, generates ideas, forms a vision, builds a plan, engages a team, builds a responsive structure, creates accountability and produces results. This book contains lot of fresh and great ideas about how effective leaders actually lead. The author identifies the eight drivers of quality leadership and devotes a chapter to each of them. Those drivers are: a) Presence b) Openness c) Clarity d) Intention e) Personal responsibility f) Intuition g) Creativity h) Connected communication This eight drivers of quality will get us far beyond the traditional leadership theory books that provide lists of character traits, and the varoius identified styles and leadership types. This eight divers guide us on how to incorporate these into our life to enable not just leadership ability, but to begin having a more satisfying and rewarding life. The author talks about the 'persona' and the 'shadow' aspects of our personalities: the 'persona' is what we present to the world while the 'shadow' contains the 'personality and behavior energies that have been repressed from consciousness, usually since childhood.' The author tries to determine our selfevaluation and then he begins his steps to empower and explore the possibilities within each of us that not only direct toward discovering the secrets of Leadership, but in reality lead us down a well constructed path toward fulfilling the potential in each of us. His chapters by name tell the process direction: That Eight Drivers of Quality: it becomes apparent that the method is first, self-evaluation

and then transposing those newfound traits into the qualities needed in 'high-impact leaders.' Author's layout of his information is clear, unencumbered, and supported by not only excellent definitions but also by examples of each added trait as demonstrated in 'case reports.' The importance of this volume in aiding recruiters to identify true leaders is a given. The usefulness of the book in seriously testing and diagnosing and treating the individual to succeed in living in the present and altering attitudes and habits to open windows to a far more successful mode of living, communication, working and leading. The author would be able to refined a new definition of leadership that integrates the self and its energies with several results : "Leadership is the process of transforming deep personal energies- internal drivers- into extraordinary interpersonal results. The person who recognizes, accesses and develops those drivers will first wholly empoweredand fulfilled on the personal level and then, and only then profoundly effective as a leader of peple in today's high velocity , highly complex and interconnected world." In conclusion, the book make in interesting and compelling read. The charts and tools are well presented and easy to understand. The topics, strategy and tactics lain down by the author are well focused, elaborated and discussed intellegently. the books also provied us a relevant case studies and examples for each tactics presented by the author. The best part of the book is the author's chapter on "openness." The author suggests the reader do something illegal to "get out of the box." That will put the reader in a box called jail. The author never explains how this could help anyone be a better leader. That be said overall the book is an easy read for all interested readers. The book thus recommended to interested and concerned profesional as a way for them to lead and create result in a powerful way anfd means.
